I wish I could give this place zero stars!! We had a terrible experience with Full Bloom Cottage & specifically Loretta. She is very rude, un professional, hard to work with & unresponsive. We purchased a vintage dinning table & 8 chairs from her through our interior designer. The whole process of purchasing the furniture from her was a disaster. Around the same time we purchased the pieces, we were going through remodeling in our house so we needed her to hold our furniture for a couple of weeks till we are fully done with remodeling, she declined & threatened us that she will charge us daily if we don't pick up our stuff. Anyhow, fast forward. I had been noticing wood dust coming out of the dinning table & never ever it crossed my mind that could be an active live insect inside the table. So every week, my housekeeper would clean up the dust & then we would see more of it coming out! Until one day I was reading a bedtime story to my 5 year old child & in the story there was a termite eating the table & creating a hole. I was terrified & I immediately called my interior designer. She contacted a few of her friends including Megan at Eloquence to gather some information. After so much research & asking around it turned out that we did have wood Beatles in the dinning table indeed! Both my designer & myself contacted Loretta. She was very unresponsive. She would say that it's been so long from when we purchased the furniture & there is no warranty on the piece but never once she came up with a solution to help us fix the problem. & by the way it took us a long time to get a hold of her, after emailing her a few times & leaving a few voice msgs she finally said to get a quote from a fumigation company for her review & she might cover it partially! She is just a pain to work with. She had no recommendation & thoughts who to call & how to salvage the problem. It was like it wasn't her problem & she didn't care. These vintage pieces should all be treated before transporting & I highly doubt she had treated our table. I mean she had no proof & talking to her is like talking to a wall. She rubs people the wrong way & is just a disaster. Please don't buy anything from her. & if you do please inspect it in details. We had no clue this could happen. It's very disappointing because we spent a lot of money buying our dinning set & most likely we have to get rid of it. It's so disgusting to know there is live active insects inside the table & the holes underneath the table confirms it all. read more

What can I say about Full Bloom Cottage.. I'll start with the best part (hard to choose just one) - Loretta! I was so lucky to find her about 15 years ago when I spotted the loveliest dresser I had ever seen. I would walk by it every few weeks just to get the thrill of looking at it and hoping to one day own it. Then, one day it was gone I asked a few people nearby about it and someone directed me to her. She was so helpful! She told me it had been moved to her warehouse and it was still available! I was so relived I scooped it up that very moment since then, she has helped with every furniture addition to my home, family's home, and office. When I say help, I don't just mean selling. She's generous with her talents and will guide when she sees you need a little help. But not pushy or judgmental in any way. She has the unique talent to make everything she touches beautiful, and all of her furniture and accents work together. They all have her curated look, allowing for mix of eras and originations still assuring a complimentary finished look. She is an incredible design resource, and as such, quite busy! Full Bloom Cottage is open by appointment. I consider it a blessing every time I am able to make an appointment, see her, her showroom and visit with this lovely lady. Thank you! I cannot say enough about Full Bloom Cottage! Loretta was such a treat to work with, She helped me pick out the prettiest pieces to fill the little cottage of my own. She has so much knowledge about where everything came from to where it should go. (I mean she brings pieces back from Paris for gods sake, doesn't get more authentic than that!) Ive been buying from her for a few years now and not only does she deliver the most authentic pieces but if there is EVER a problem (which is rare) she's always always there to help. Full Bloom Cottage is a unique and fabulous place to find antique/vintage French and Italian furniture. They have rare and hard to find pieces. I love the natural, gold gilt and painted pieces of furniture as well as the chandeliers, pillows, bedding and home décor. I have purchased many pieces of furniture and home décor from Full Bloom Cottage and still love the way it looks in my room. Can't say enough about the customer service I received. They truly care about their customers. Lots of good advice and ideas. My friends have also purchased furniture from Full Bloom Cottage and they "LOVE" it! Quality and service is A++. Our experience with Full Bloom Cottage has been awful. We bought an antique giltwood table from them we found listed online through a third party site. We are local, so we were able to go look at it in person and pick it up ourselves. However, the day after we got it home, we noticed that it had extensive bug damage (holes from powder post beetles). This damage was not acknowledged in the online listing or shown clearly in the posted pictures (it is focused on one side of the piece). We missed it in our inspection at the store, which was not as well lit as our living room. Had we known about the damage, we would not have purchased the table. Given that the table is an antique, and since we were told in passing that all of their furniture is fumigated before they receive it, we assumed the infestation was an old one. We decided we still liked the table and it was not worth the hassle of trying to return, so we decided not the pursue the matter. We purchased the table in late Fall. When Spring arrived, we discovered that the powder post infestation was in fact an active one. I have subsequently learned that the beetles usually emerge in the Spring and Summer. Upon discovering that the infestation was active, we immediately called Full Bloom Cottage. The owner showed concern and wanted to look into the shipment she received our table in. She said she would call us back. After not hearing back for several days, we sent a follow up email and made clear we wanted to return the table. This email did not receive a reply. We left a follow up voicemail several days later, which prompted a reply to our email, stating that they did not accept returns "after a certain date." We replied that we thought such a policy was unreasonable to adhere to in this particular case since, (a) the table had an active infestation when it was purchased, and (b) we called the day we found out that this was the case (and the first day we could have known). We expressed our disappointment in their position and indicated that if they did not reconsider it, we had no further recourse but to file a complaint with the third party site on which we found and purchased the table, and to write reviews such as this one. To this, we received a reply asking for 24 hours to get back to us. Now more than one week after this self-imposed 24 hour deadline, we have not heard anything else from them, in spite follow up emails and voicemails asking for a reply. It appears now that we have been, quite simply, ripped off. Whether by intentionally dishonesty or careless oversight, Full Bloom Cottage listed an item without disclosing extensive damage. They refused to take back a table sold with an active insect infestation. Finally, they were unprofessionally unresponsive about returning messages and emails. Purchasing antiques is always dicey, and it is important for sellers to earn trust. Our experience suggests Full Bloom Cottage does not merit your trust. ***Update*** At the time this review was posted, we also contacted 1stdibs.com (the site than handled our transaction with Full Bloom Cottage). After reviewing our complaint and photos of the table (and a photo of one of the beetles), 1stdibs has decided to issue us a full refund for the table. The contrast with our experience with the actual seller is night and day. It is fortunate we purchased this item through a third party rather than purchasing it directly from Full Bloom Cottage. I will also add a couple of quick notes regarding Loretta's reply below. We purchased the table on November 15 and contacted her about the infestation when we discovered it was active on April 8. This is just shy of 5 months, so her statement that she does not take back tables after 7-8 months is an exaggeration of the facts. The reasons for the elapsed time were covered in the review above. Second, I am surprised at how quickly Loretta will post a response to a public negative review. It is in stark contrast to her private communications with us. I noted above that she asked for 24 hours to consider our request and then never got back to us, in spite of follow up voicemails and emails. She never did get back to us as promised, though she has managed a more prompt and thorough reply to this review than we have experienced at any point in trying to resolve this with her. At least we have closure regarding her decision, rather than having to assume her refusal to honor our request for a return based on her refusal to return messages. It is easy to have satisfied customers in those majority of cases where nothing goes wrong. What is telling is how a business handles situation where issues do arise. read more
