I was thrilled to walk in and see a couch that was exactly what I was looking for at a reasonable price. I really wanted a green couch, but figured I should stay with a neutral fabric until I saw their SPINACH couch on the floor and fell in love. María helped me so much and really knew her stuff, but all the reps were nice and worked great together. I left and kept my couch search going, but returned to order my couch with Maria a couple days later. Their lead time is 4-6 weeks for a custom couch, but I paid $200 to expedite in 3 weeks, so fingers crossed! I cannot wait for this couch!

After years of being a TJ Maxx shopper and buying things that didn't work and having them for a short period of time and then buying MORE... I decided to stop in HtgT and I was met with a fantasti,c no nonsense, lovely woman named Elaine. I was so nervous about buying new furniture that I wasn't sure would work (because I don't have the knack) I was probably her most neurotic client ever. She offered to come to my house. It's $1000 dollars and she gives you her ideas and ALL of the $1000 goes toward merchandise. I was to embarrassed to have her over so I videoed my house and sent her the video.....she was so honest and helpful. She is a very REAL person and thankfully she gave me her REAL opinion. She gave me suggestions on how to rearrange things that I had and what she thought would work. I showed her some things in the store that I loved and she went with MY style. Her prices are very good... and her interior design advice (for those of us that can't afford an interior designer) are priceless. If I had hired a designer I would have paid soooooo much more. In the amount that I have spent over and over again at TJ Maxx I ended up with quality pieces that have brought my house up to a level that makes me so HAPPY to have company.... (this coming from the woman that hides in the back of her house when someone knocks because I didn't want anyone to see my house because of my lack of design skills.) She helped with everything from how to make collections on my shelves with things I already had, spacial orientation (who knew), placement to art work, you get what I'm telling you. Give her your budget and she will work with you and start you off slow. She kept telling me, "You don't have to buy this now. You have a great start, just come back when you are ready for another piece and I will work with you." All I can say is that this place is a needle in a haystack. the store is huge with an amazing selection of quality furnishings that will last for many many years. You won't see any advertisement for them and they have been in business for a very long time so that should say it all.

This was my second time having lunch there because after my first visit, I left feeling underwhelmed but thought maybe I'd just ordered the wrong thing. I wanted to give it another chance. Unfortunately, yesterday confirmed my first impression. The service was excellent. Our waitress was attentive, friendly, and did a great job. The problem is the food. There were three of us, and every single dish came in surprisingly tiny portions. A $30 salad was served on what looked like a saucer-sized plate. My friend's salmon arrived on an equally small plate, and the sweet potato fries came in the tiniest little bowl imaginable--about the size of a small McDonald's fries. They tasted good, but there were barely enough to share. Can you make the serving sizes any smaller? It honestly felt like there was a food shortage. I ordered the Chinese Chicken Salad, and it was a huge disappointment. The chicken was mostly dark, greasy meat filled with gristle and tendons. It was honestly unpleasant to eat. The salad itself was very small, and the wonton strips seemed to be the main ingredient instead of the chicken or fresh vegetables. Overall, the food was bland, the portions were incredibly small, and my salad was borderline gross. It's a shame because the setting is gorgeous and the service was great, but the kitchen simply doesn't deliver. I can't recommend this restaurant based on the food.
