Coast Vintage Market is a very cool swap meet style flea market with tons of items from yesteryear…read morethat will take you back to another time. It can almost be like a treasure hunt looking for that special item that calls out to you! Even if you aren't looking for something specific, you might find something that is awesome (to you anyway). There is definitely a wide variety of stuff, from vintage clothing, to old car emblems, home decor, old business signs, and toys that, depending on your age, might make you remember the good old days. Prices can be a bit high, and some vendors will haggle, but this isn't really the kind of market where you get an amazing deal. Most people know what they have and know the market for their stuff. Vendors are still friendly though and will chat about what they have. Located in the old Laguna Hills parking lot, it has about 10-12 rows of vendors that are about 50 yards long. Last time we went there was an agua fresca stand but no food vendors. Even though it's in a parking lot, parking can be a challenge so be prepared. Everything is under construction as the mall is closed down and the buildings are empty so people kind of just park wherever. All that said, this can make for a great weekend activity to get out and walk around. Though it is infinitely better in the morning when it is less crowded and cooler outside! Being in a parking lot there is no shade and things heat up quickly in the afternoon. Overall, a solid local experience, especially if you like flea markets.

Took the dog for a walk through a "vintage sale" today…read more.. Great walk for the dog. Less thrilling for me. The parking lot was packed, which made me think we were about to stumble into something amazing. Instead it felt like an entire street of yard sales where everyone brought the stuff nobody wanted anymore... and now they all brought it to the same place. As we walked in, there were noticeably more people leaving empty-handed than people carrying bags. And the few who did buy something looked like they'd adopted a small trinket out of pity. "Vintage," apparently, is just a nicer word for old junk that survived the last garage sale. On the bright side... the dog had a fantastic time.

I went into Artiques on August 4th and purchased a few items that I took with me that day, as well…read moreas a large hutch that I was told was their hottest selling item. I was not able to take delivery of that item due to there only being one in the store. I was told this item shipped from North Carolina. Less than 30 days later, I had lost my job quite unexpectedly and went to the store and asked if an exception could be made to return the merchandise I bought, which was still in the original bags, as well as the piece I had not taken receipt of yet. Don took the merchandise back and marked returned. He told me I would have to speak with the owner regarding the hutch. I reached out to the owner and did get her on the phone eventually, at which point she told me she would have to inquire with her vendor to check the status of the hutch. She never provided any follow up, despite several more attempts on my behalf to reach her. During our conversation she never said she would not provide a refund. I went into the store another time and spoke with another clerk who advised it was possible I had not heard back from the owner because she was busy with a shoot for Housewives of Orange County. Following this, I filed a dispute with my bank because I had exhausted all attempts to reach the owner. Today, several months later I was advised that the credit I received from my bank was reversed. The documentation that was read to me by the Chase representative as provided by the owner stated: "I came into the store after 30 days and wanted to return the merchandise. Don took the merchandise and called the owner who said it could not be returned. I said I would talk with her directly and asked him to hold the merchandise while I went to lunch, and that I never returned. Further, it stated, the item was shipping from India." The rebuttal provided by the owner of Artiques is a complete lie. Don never tried to call her, nor did I tell him I would be back after lunch. Had he tried to call her, I would have personally asked to speak with her. He told me she was in the Las Vegas store, and not easily reachable. He took the merchandise and marked returned on the receipt. Why would there be any reason to return based on an interaction like that?? (Further, I was told by the owner's husband that the hutch was shipping from North Carolina, yet the owner says it ships from India) In the one phone conversation I had with the owner, I asked her for discretion on her store credit only policy within 30 days due to the loss of my job and a parent within weeks of each other. I understood I was at her mercy at this point and was hopeful that she would make an exception. She never told me she would not, and never mentioned giving me a store credit. Further, I had a friend with me from the east coast the same day I made the purchase, who also patronized her store for more than $1300.00. So essentially, I brought her business that she would otherwise not have had. At this point, not only do I not have the merchandise I paid for, Artiques also has my $1759.15, for which I have nothing to show. I have all the phone records to show my attempts to reach the owner, as well as records that indicate I did in fact come into the store within the 30 day period. Not only do these folks operate without compassion or understanding for mitigating circumstances, they also operate without integrity.

They were easy to work with and extremely quick turnaround time...we even went out to their shop to inspect it before we committed to having them refinish our desk. Their shop was spotless and they had a number of items to inspect and that is what sealed the deal for us is that their shop was spotless and very nice things they were working on. They also came and picked up the desk and delivered it back here as well... this was a risk for us because we had reached out to a handful of companies a couple years ago and looked at their work online and was just not happy with their work. If you are in the market for having some furniture refinished, we strongly recommend Heredia Antiques.

I am beyond satisfied with the workmanship, the turnaround time, and the friendliness of Zeferino Heredia and his staff. I requested that they try to keep the new finish as close as possible to the original finish, and they were able to reproduce it perfectly. All of the dents, dings, scuffing, and scratches are no longer visible, and the worst damage (a large crack on the inside of the one of the doors) is fixed and no longer visible. This piece is ready to go for another lifetime. It was one week from pickup to dropoff, which I found very surprising considering the quality of the work. After I spent some time to look over the piece in detail once it was dropped off, I noticed just how much care was put into the restoration. The finish is completely smooth and uniform, and even the dirty aluminum hardware was cleaned and polished. The work was so well done that it's not obvious that any restoration work was performed, which is exactly what I (and I expect most customers) want for an antique restoration. It's also worth noting that I called another furniture restoration company before Heredia who quoted about double what Heredia charged, including the delivery (pickup and dropoff) charges. I don't think it's possible that the other company could have done a better job than what was done by Heredia. In the attached photos, there are some before and after pics of some of the most significant wear/damage that was repaired. I am now actively looking for more good deals on worn/beat-up mid century pieces so that I can have more work done by Heredia Antiques. I highly recommend them and will work with them again without hesitation.
