Bloom Bakery and Café is an Asian bakery with Chinese, Japanese and Korean sweets as well as boba tea and coffee drinks. If you were looking for a sweet treat or an afternoon, pick me up, this is the place to go! The café bakes pastries daily and holy moly are they good! We went on Monday, which was dough day, and it smelled amazing inside. I got a red bean cream cheese bun (pink pastry) which was fluffy sweet bread with sweetened red bean and cream cheese. For those not familiar, sweet red bean is a staple in Asian dessert and it adds hardiness and texture to a pastry. I also got a Tokyo banana cream roll which was half a banana covered in chocolate mousse wrapped in a small fluffy pancake. Finally I tried the New York Chocolate Chip Cookie, which had peanuts inside - yum! 10/10 for flavor and freshness. In addition to pastries, they also have shave ice or bingsu. This is such a wonderful creamy/icy treat to have on a hot day. The individuals working at the counter were super helpful and able to explain all of the desserts we weren't familiar with. I was very impressed with the drink selection. They have boba tea, milk tea, fruit tea, and coffee. Most drinks can also be made non-dairy with alternative milk. I ordered the iced cherry blossom latte with almond milk and it was flavorful, but not too sweet - very good! Super excited to know that they have vegan and non-dairy milk for coffee and tea! I was also impressed by the clear allergy list. This is a great spot for individuals with dietary restrictions. This is a great place to come with a friend to catch up or to take your kids for a sweet treat. Interior is small, but has adequate seating for those wishing to enjoy their treats in-house. There is street parking available or garages close by. Amazing place - if I lived in Memphis I'd be here all the time!! 10/10! read more

Had the best time checking out this new Asian bakery in downtown Memohis. Picked up some yummy goodies. I bought a cube toast dessert. The cube had a strawberry cream inside that was light and not very sweet. The texture of the bread was fluffy. I also ordered a Bing or meat pie. It was tasty but a tad salty for me. It is made to order so you need to wait five minutes for it to be prepared. The decor is so cute and inviting. The space is pretty large and there are many tables and chairs inside. I really liked the different tea towels used for decoration about a refrigerator and the restroom entrance. There is art work showing bakery items on the store windows. It is painted on the glass and compliments the bakery. I will be back to try more wonderful goodies. There is coffee and boba tea available too. Great place! read more

Bloom Bakery & Cake offers a variety of house-made Asian desserts and milk tea in the heart of Memphis downtown. I cannot be more thrilled to try their basque cakes! I personally prefer their Earl Grey basque cake as it's the most fresh and have a molten center compared to the Pistachios basque cake. Highly recommend you ask what was baked last for a more liquid center. The two servers here were very welcoming and happy to make recommendations or answer questions you may have. The matcha bread is a must try. Also it tastes better the day you buy it, don't wait a day. Cute bakery right across The Peabody. Currently they are only open Monday through Friday, for sure go in the morning since they sell out quick and for good reason. Adorable bakery with a great selection of pastries. My favorites are the cream and strawberry-filled croissant and the pistachio cheesecake. The croissant looks heavy but is surprisingly light, midly sweet, fluffy, and absolutely delicious. The pistachio cheesecake has rich pistachio flavor that's really pleasant -it may be a bit overwhelming for one person, so I'd encourage you to share it or save half for later. You'll like the cheesecake if you go into the experience not expecting a traditional cheesecake. It's decorated so nice, like a tumblr-esque cafe. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Bloom Cafe has such good coffee and boba! The mango drink we got had real mango chunks in it, it was very good, and the coffee was perfect. Service was very friendly and super fast, with drinks done in a couple minutes, and the cafe itself is a nice place to hangout in. This is the only place in downtown Memphis serving boba tea. It also has Asian inspired pastries. We ordered four items for breakfast along with two boba teas. Chocolate Croissant is pretty standard. Dubai Chocolate Croissant comes with a filling made with pistachio and chocolate, but the pistachio seemed to get lost. The Dragon Fruit bun is filled with red bean paste and cream cheese, very good combination. The Pork Sun Cake is covered with pork floss, a great balance of sweet and savory. read more
