Prior to this we didn't have much vet exposure or a few times in earlier years elsewhere. Our dog was always seen with love and care. As she aged she did come down with cancer with a mass cell tumor. Bishop Ranch was very truthful, open minded, and helped guide us along the way. The diagnosis was given roughly 2 months before her 11th bday. We decided on palliative care which Bishop Ranch 100% supported. Our dog went on to live another 18 months under no direct treatment. We saw multiple vets, phone visits with advice nurses and doctors throughout and just met with so much love. The care these doctors and office staff gave really had us feel secure in knowing that when it was time to put our dog down they would be the best ones to support us. Unfortunately we had to put our beautiful GSP Lumen down about 12 days ago. It was so heavy but the vets were all so in tune and supportive to our family. Today I opened up the mail expecting a generic card from the vet and lo and behold the staff hand wrote an entire card filled to the brim over our dogs loss. This truly meant so much to my family and I/ The village of support is so heartfelt. The service we have continued to receive ongoing has been nothing but amazing. I can't recommend this vet enough. WHRN we called, they said they were booked solid for two weeks, but could squeeze us in on Thursday morning. When we arrived there was one patient leaving and nobody else there. It was the same when we left. They lied about being busy. I brought my son's cat in to be looked at. The Assistent asked some vague questions and audio recorded the meeting. Odd. When the Vet came in, the assistent was absent, so not much sharing of info. She spent a few minutes looking at him, checked his heart, then got up to leave. I asked her what her opinion was, and she said she would work up a treatment plan, and left. Treatment plan, I'm not sure what the symptoms are! 5 minutes later the assistent comes in with a clipboard and a sheet listing out $1,250.00 of various actions, and would like my approval. I still had zero diagnosis or feedback from the Doctor! That is called high-pressure selling to vulnerability. No diagnosis, but let's run every test, take x-rays, intravenous hydration, and give antibiotics when there's no wound, no diagnosis. A good Vet, only recommends what's necessary, but I suspect this is the standard procedure for anyone who comes in. I bet many older people get sucked into this hustle every day. Never give in to this! Nobody's loved pet should be turned into a medical pin cushion so they can generate as much sales as possible. When you work with a legitimate, well intended Vet, if they have no diagnosis, the answer is "let's observe, and check in a few days." It is NOT, let's spend $1,250 and put the animal through unnecessary stress, not knowing what to look for! This is playing on a person's emotional vulnerability. It's unethical, and inhumane. Do not go here. When there are four people in the front office and only two in back, the focus isn't on the animals' welfare, it's on billing. They should be attending medical seminars, not sales seminars. Pathetic. They started the relationship lying about how busy they are. That says it all. I'd like to see these people run out of town for such bad behavior in this community.
