We have so-called shave ice here in Boston but it's not like Ono Wai's. These are served with ice cream at the bottom - YUM- and a drizzle of sweet cream on top! It's like 2 desserts in one because by the time you get to the bottom, the flavored ice made the ice cream frosty and sweet - like a creamsicle- but better! The hardest part of ordering this little cup of heaven is choosing the flavors - they have 25 - and apparently they are imported from Hawaii. Thankfully, my family ordered different flavors so I was able to try a variety. They were all rich and flavorful. I'll be back Ono Wai - I'll be back!

The service is quick and kind and if the lines look long don't be intimidated -- they move very fast! As with traditional snoball stands there's no indoor seating but the business offers a few picnic tables you can go and sit at or you can sit in your car and enjoy your sweet treat. Parking has never been an issue even when the lines are long. Fair warning: if you go make sure you bring CASH! This business only takes cash. Since we knew they were coming we actually got to enjoy our sons party and had much less stress than we typically would have when it came to planning the treats for the party. Our guests raved about the ice and since they're organic and vegan with no artificial dyes there was no guilt in what we were serving all of the kids! Our son has a severe egg allergy and this was a much better solution to hosting an allergen free party that everyone could enjoy. If you have an allergen kid or are inviting friends with allergies I cannot reccomend them enough as a delicious low stress choice.
