*UPDATE TWO DAYS LATER** The owner reached out and offered a refund. They did not like my review and asked me to remove it because it would make them look bad. I am not deleting my review, but I will update my review and I ended up getting a refund. Maybe it was the nail tech or maybe the reviews are fake. The tech was very nice and did confirm the color and nail shape. When she was using certain drills, she was hurting and cutting my skin hence the bleeding on my nail bed. Mind you, I do not think they are cleaning their drills properly because you can see how I bled. I did not get cuticle oil or lotion on my hands. I've gotten $30 manicures at other salons and they at least put cuticle oil on my nails. I shouldn't have to request that, it should be given. My nails are pretty and I do like them. But I wouldn't recommend coming here for gel x nails. This was my first time getting gel x nails and it made me not want to experience this again. read more

This is my absolute favorite nail salon in the wausau area, and I've been to many of them! I've been to bliss twice since the new owners took over, and they have done an absolutely incredible job each time. Not only are they completely renovating their building, they are updating their pedicure bar and all their other amenities. There are a lot of wonderful things about Bliss, but my favorite part is their amazing staff! Hannah is an incredible artist with an endless amount of impressive nail designs and colors to choose from, and she always shapes my nails to perfection. I can't remember the name of the other girl who did my nails, but she is also equally as talented and SO sweet. They are two of the kindest and most detail oriented nail technicians I've ever met. I honestly can't say enough good things about this place! I highly recommend going in if you haven't been in since the new owners took over, you're going to love it! read more

Not happy. I went to get a French ombre and it looked nothing like I showed them in a picture. I knew it wouldn't be excat but I've seen it before on people that I know and I wanted to cry after. Called them, explained my disappointment, went back and just had them painted a different color and now they are bumpy because the gel polish wouldn't set right... Pro: Pedicure was $25 Friendly receptionist Very clean Con: As I walked in and was ready to be seated, I was not informed, or did not see a sign posted that the credit card machine was down. I had noticed a customer tried to pay with cash, and receptionist informed her that the machine was down. I immediately went up to the receptionist, and confirmed because I had no cash on me. So I went to a nearby bank across the street, and withdrew $, and returned before I started my pedi. My nail technician did not say much at all. This nail salon was inexpensive and the staff was nice. That being said, the manicure and pedicures look terrible. Missed spots, bubbles in the polish, color is uneven, just all around upsetting. Noticing more and more things since we left. I'm not sure I would suggest a regular mani and pedi. They seemed to suggest to do the SNS powder color so many they would do a better job with that. read more

I am new to town and an equally new coworker and I decided to treat ourselves, my coworker to a mani, and I to a pedi. I got to the salon first, and there were no other customers, so I was settled into the chair promptly. My coworker came in and though she still wanted a manicure, decided, when asked, to have a pedi as well. Hers was completed first, as she wasn't having any of the add ons I had splurged on. The nail tech didn't offer her a chance to use the drying lamp, but just left her sitting in the chair while she went and did a manicure on an incoming customer. My pedi was eventually finished, about 20 minutes later, and I was escorted to the drying lamp. Meanwhile my coworker was left to sit in the pedicure chair. I finally asked when they were going to do my friend's mani. A tech stated she had never asked for a manicure, and when we both insisted she had, she argued with us. By this time my friend was over it, so when a the tech asked her at this point if she wanted one, she said nevermind. It didn't help that my tech apparently spoke no English but the other had fair English language skills. A man sitting in a corner, a third tech, I believe, didn't say a thing. The tech who did speak continued to argue with us, and it was even difficult to get them to come take our payment, and then they tried putting both pedicures on my card. This with only one other customer in the shop. I almost gave two stars, because the pedicures were well done, but the customer service was abysmal. The employees should not be arguing with the clients, and anyone in a customer service position should be able to speak some English. (BTW both my friend and I are immigrants, so this is not a rant against immigrants). I'm going to have to find myself another salon. read more

Please do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from this nail shop. They call themselves a nail and spa and it couldn't be farther from the truth. The quality of work is incredibly horrible. Honestly, I cannot believe they're even in business. Im thinking maybe the guy just started doing nails. I have acrylics with shellac and I went in to get a fill and new polish. The guy ruined my nails. The primer they used burned me so bad I almost started crying. That has never happened...EVER! The acrylic is lumpy and bumpy. The nails are all different shapes and lengths. The gel polish has air bubbles and is dull and tacky in some spots. It literally looks like a young child experimented on my nails. 45 for a fill and polish??? Really But ok its whatever... He asked me to pay before he finished so I didnt have the option of looking and then paying. I was very polite and nice when discussing my disappointment with the salon and asked if i could get my money back because I was going to have to get them fixed and pay somewhere else. They wouldn't and even still took the tip. Im not from the area and would never ever return. Im so upset, so please do yourself a favor and don't go near! read more

I'm from out of town and came in to Bliss for a pre-wedding mani/pedi based on the high ratings. I made an appointment for 4:00 pm and they were quite busy for a Tuesday. The massage function on the pedicure chairs is super relaxing and Kevin does a great job making sure you're comfortable while pampering your feet. I didn't get the name of the gal who was doing my manicure but that's where the minus two stars comes in. I was sold on a SNS French tip manicure as it's a "healthier alternative" to gel nails. Usually with a manicure they trim your cuticles before applying the tips but didn't get that. Don't get me wrong the French tips look nice from a distance but if you look closely my cuticles look cracked and dry, even after applying lotion to my hands. The shape on a few nails could also use a little work. To me the thumbs are a little uneven. See pictures below. I really liked the place and am happy with the pedicure, but for a $50 manicure I expect a little more as far as quality goes. read more

I stopped in when I was traveling through town back to my home in the UP. The salon itself was really quiet and seemed fairly typical in comparison to other nail salons of this caliber that I've been to throughout the country. Staff were friendly but not overly friendly or talkative, which was fine and what I was looking for at the moment. I picked the $35 hot stone pedicure which was what I had expected until it came time for polish. I wanted a nude color on my nails and then glitter on the big toe. The woman painting my nails suggested a few times that I put glitter ombré on all of them and eventually I agreed. She put only one coat of nude nail polish on the full nail and one coat of glitter polish on the top half of each toe nail. Then topped it off with a clear topcoat. My nails look horrible - streaky, uneven, the ridges in my nails haven't been filed down, one nail was smudged before I went to put my shoes on AND I was charged and extra $10 for ombré nails. Ridiculous! I don't write negative reviews unless I would want to be warned about quality of service. This is the most disappointing $45 pedicure. read more
