I got a new silk set for my first time here. My lashes looked really great when I got them done, and they felt incredibly light. Unfortunately I noticed within days that the extensions were falling off of my natural eyelashes faster than I was used to. It was as if they hadn't fully adhered to my natural lashes. Usually when I get my lashes done at other places they fall off as my natural lash does. I called on the 5th day to let them know that this was happening. They said that I must have gone swimming or rubbed my eyes. I confirmed that I hadn't done either. They said that they would only fix them on the 3rd or 4th day, and that 5 days is considered one week. They finally agreed to fix them that day, but then called me back to say they needed photos before agreeing again to fix them. I frankly didn't want to deal with the hassle of convincing them that this wasn't right. Bling is pricey for a gel manicure, but 100% worth it! This location is clean and very relaxing. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Even though I did not have an appointment, they were happy to take me. There was a bit of a wait (20 mins), but there is a comfortable waiting area. I write this with great disappointment, I have been going to bling lash for over 10 years. But today proved it needs new management. When I first arrived to salon upon check in the person at the front desk informed me I needed to come earlier than my appointment time because I booked a double set $$. So I asked if she was requesting me to come in prior to my SCHEDULED time (5:30pm) and she confirmed. So I suggested we reschedule my appointment if my service was interfering with them leaving early I would be happy to do so. I didn't understand why she was so angry or, why I was being spoken to with such a tone. To add insult to injury my technician was super aggressive with me, I had glue on my eye lid which she was trying to bush off in all my time getting my lashes done here both top and bottom I never experience this. When it came time to remove the lower patch, it was ripped from my lower lash so viciously I thought she ripped out my lower lashes. I do not know what happened to the protocol or standards at bling lash but what I can tell you is they no longer exist. After my service I went to the restroom to treat my eyes. After pulling myself together I figured I address the issue at hand. When I went to the front desk to discuss my experience the second front desk person didn't even wait for me to approach the desk before raising her voice and asked if I was "READY to TIP" the technician as I pay for my service ahead of time. When I was telling her I didn't have a good experience I was then approached by the technician like they were gonna shake me down or physically attack me, no apology, or interest of what I experienced. The approach was not only unprofessional but violent. I apologies to all the clients I have referred over the years as now I'm ashamed they would experience this type of treatment of when worse . What I don't understand is why the rush, because when I left the studio it wasn't time to close (7:15pm) and 4 other people were STILL getting a services performed! The cuticles never peel and the polish is applied with precision. In the US, the story is a bit different. It's very hard to find someone who is amazing. Took me 15 years, but Susan is by far THE BEST nail technician I've met. She's precise, my cuticles never peel or crack, my polish and perfect and best of all her regular manicures last me 1.5-2 weeks. My friend told me that bling lash had recently renovated its second floor into a nail studio, and that I should check it out. I'm so glad I did because it is hands down the BEST nail experience I've ever had. I've since been there 4 times, and every time I go I'm greeted by name with warm friendly smiles. The artists are extremely talented and hand paint very intricate designs on my nails, taking their time and not rushing because they care about the quality of their work. Every time I've been there they've given me a free massage, and brewed me a fresh green tea and put it in a to-go cup for me to take with me. I've been in the beauty industry for 10 years, and I've never been to a salon this sanitary before. Their tools are opened from brand new sealed packages in front of you and they write your name on your tools and box them for your next visit so they aren't used on anyone else. The salon itself is beautiful, streamlined and uncluttered, incredibly relaxing. I had a pedicure there just yesterday and it was the best pedicure I've ever had. I always approach pedicures with impending doom, I see them as one of life's necessary evils because while they look beautiful, they can often be a little painful or just straight up torture when the pedicurist starts buffing the bottoms of your feet, but that was NOT the case yesterday. Every second of my hour long pedicure was relaxing and wonderful. There was recently a long article in the NY Times shining a spotlight on the horrible treatment of manicurists and the terrible injustices that occur within the industry, and I was able to speak in length with the lovely owner of Bling Lash about that article which she was well aware of, and I was happy to hear that she (unlike other salon owners) guarantees tips for her employees to make sure they make a living wage. I'm more than happy to give my business to a salon that cares about the happiness of its employees just as much as the customers, and I will be returning to Bling Lash for another gel set in a few weeks. read more

I rarely write reviews, but I'm pretty shocked how quickly this gel manicure is coming off. I've gotten plenty of gel manicures all over the city. I have to get them because I'm too tough on my hands for a regular manicure. They usually last about two weeks before nails start chipping or lifting off the nail, great places can last up to three weeks. Unfortunately, after THREE DAYS my left thumb has completely come off and I can see other nails lifting as well. I pay significantly more for a gel manicure to last me 2+ weeks, and this is just not worth it. My manicurist was sweet and so was the girl that gave me the free massage. I also think the salon is very pretty and clean which is why I'm giving two stars, but it's unacceptable for a $75 gel manicure with nail art to come off after three days. read more

Turns out, that is exactly what manifested with my manicure. The gel chipped after 2 days, and 2 of my nails cracked from the gel manicure. I've been to many places and my nails have NEVER cracked from the manicure. I'm definitely not going back here. Disclaimer: Look, I used to love this place, and this is my experience from around 2 years ago so maybe things have changed since then. THAT BEING SAID, I've been meaning to leave this review for a while now just as a warning. I used to come here religiously in 2017. It was pretty great for a few months! They are super nice here, and there were times where I'd almost fall asleep as they were doing my eyelashes & massaging my hands. Really felt this place was the BEST. But this ended one day when I went back for my usual eyelash extension refill. I immediately had a bad feeling in my stomach when I realized they were leading me over to a table with one of the young men technicians. I've had my eyelashes done by the men that work here before, and they always do a messy, careless job. The guys that work here seem to have no idea what they're doing, or at least they just don't give a shit (not that the women do either, but they still put in effort to do a very good job!). That being said, I figured I was just being ridiculous and I should just let this guy do it. What's the worst that could happen? WELL. Not only did this guy take over an hour to do a quick refill (I had somewhere to be, and the 1-week refills don't take very long), but he definitely messed up a few times (had to call over a female technician to help him) and he left a huge glob of glue in my eyelashes, which later solidified into a big, stuck ball of glue. This eventually turned into an eyelid infection (diagnosed by the wonderful people at CityMD across the street lol, very convenient!). After that I immediately crossed the street and asked the people at Blinglash if they could fit me in to have them removed ASAP even though I didn't have an appointment, which they obliged. Even after the extensions were removed I still had an eyelid infection from them. I lost a bunch of my eyelashes and they took forever to grow back (in fact, it's been like 2 years now since this happened and I'm still not sure they grow the way they used to). I'd post pictures but it's pretty gross. About a year or so after this happened, in 2019, I figured I should get over my fear of a repeat experience as this place was great for months until that one bad experience, and I missed my extensions. I returned to get a new set of eyelashes for the first time in at least a year (like I said, it took a WHILE for my eyelashes to grow back). They were strangely painful during the process. It felt like the ends of the eyelashes were pricking into my eyelids. Even after I left, the eyelashes were still painful, and I didn't 'get used' to them the way I used to. They were noticeably rather annoying and painful. My eyelids were swollen by the next morning, so I returned to have them removed. Funnily enough, I got the same technician as the day before, a woman named Yvonne. She didn't recognize me (they see multiple women a day, so why would she?). While she was removing them she said, "Who did these?" In a voice that implied whoever did them did a terrible job, which is what caused my eyelids to swell. I told her that she did, and she acted surprised and denied it. She also got the glue remover stuff in my eyes, and had to drag me over to the sink where I desperately splashed water on my face to get my eyes to stop burning. For a few seconds I thought I was going blind. I asked for a refund at the front desk, since I had only gotten the eyelashes yesterday and had to get them removed ASAP the next morning (and had a terrible experience). They implied I was trying to scam them, as if I only wanted the extensions for one night to party or something (except, you know, I was actually in my apartment that night trying everything to soothe my eyelids since I wouldn't be able to get them removed until the next day). They said they've have a manager call me. Obviously the manager never called me and I'm not a Karen so it really wasn't worth calling them back to get my $300+ back. So yeah, be careful. This place is great until you get an amateur or someone who doesn't know what they're doing, and then you risk losing 60% of your eyelashes for 6 months. read more

I have been getting my eyelashes done at Bling Lash for years. I have tried a number of other salons around the city and Bling Lash is the only one I trust to get it right every time. The technicians here really know how to create a beautiful, natural look. The lashes at Bling Lash never look stiff, plastic and fake like they do when you go to some other places. The lashes here also last longer in my experience. Bling Lash has two very convenient locations in lower Manhattan. Both are very clean and spacious. It's never too crowded and I don't have a problem booking the appointment time I want. Also, they really care about your comfort. They offer a complimentary hand and foot massage during the service and plenty of pillows for my neck and legs. I even fall asleep while I'm getting my lashes done! Another thing I really love about Bling Lash is the mascara they formulated to wear with eyelash extensions. It makes it possible to wear a more subtle length during the day and a more dramatic look at night. It works perfectly and removes with water alone. The place looks really clean. The staff is super nice, I loved my eye lashes technician she was awesome. This was my first time getting eye lash extensions and they def answered all my questions. Very displeased with my latest visit. I scheduled an appointment online a few weeks ago, and listed the names of about 4 different technicians I wanted to place my lashes. When I arrived, I didn't get anyone who I recommended, and even though she was provided with my specific mix, I did not get that at all. I have a specific mix of short and gradually long lengths, and when she was done all of the lashes are the exact same length and a bit too overdone for my personal taste. It's obvious the woman I was given did not know what she was doing. When I told the staff, the best the manager could say was I'll make sure to note that on your account. Well, to that point, if you were noting information on my account, why didn't I receive any of the four technicians I requested, or at least an acknowledgment at the time of my appointment that none of them were available? I am giving it 2 stars even though I really want to give it 1 since I've been going for a few years and this is the first time I've had any issues. I originally came here when I bought a voucher from Gilt.com, and my initial experience was lovely. I came back again about 3days ago to get a manicure done for my birthday weekend. Everything turned out great, until about Friday night, when my manicure suddenly started chipping! at first, I brushed it off, however, as of today, Saturday, almost all of my nails have chipped off and/or peeled off entirely. Now I'm in a total scramble to get my nails done in time for all of my birthday events. I don't know if I want to come back for any other treatments. However, the service here was exceptional. UPDATE 2/6/17: So the day I posted this review, 1/21, BlingLash called and offered to fix my manicure, free of charge. Unfortunately, I was running around in the city & did not have any time to come to the salon. However, they offered me a free manicure for my next visit. I came in last Thursday to redeem my free manicure. The service, again, was great. They told me that their manicures regularly last between 3-5 days, and this is where I have a bone to pick. I normally go to a salon where my manicure is $11($12 with quick dry, but no designer brand nail polishes. IE: Chanel, YSL, Tom Ford & Nars.) & it lasts me 2 weeks. This is my first time doing my eyelash lifting. So I wondered how will it come out. When i visit the salon, i liked the luxury and clean interior. I can easily remove my makeup with the remover they serve. My place was private and they really care about sanitation. It took about an hour and i just took a rest. She's wonderful, very funny, and overall just wanted me and my friend to have the best experience possible. She even gave us an additional 7min back massage.
