Our experience with Blinds To Go has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. From the very beginning, we were misled by their consultant, Ana, who seemed more interested in making a sale for her own benefit than actually helping us choose the right blinds for our home. We specifically mentioned that we have a large dog and asked if the blinds she recommended would be suitable. She assured us that they would hold up just fine. Unfortunately, that was completely false. The zebra-style blinds we purchased are extremely fragile and not at all durable for a home with pets. Had we been given honest guidance, we would have chosen a different product. Instead, we were misled into buying something completely impractical, and now we're stuck with blinds that are already showing signs of wear. To make matters worse, these zebra-style blinds should come with an extended warranty due to how delicate they are, yet Blinds To Go offers little support when issues arise. This feels like a company that cares more about pushing sales than customer satisfaction. Save yourself the headache and shop elsewhere--especially if you need reliable advice and durable products. We regret trusting this company and would never recommend them to anyone. My experience with Store #208 has been nothing short of a nightmare. The initial consultant was disengaged and gave incorrect information about wired motorized shades. We were falsely told the store would support hardwiring -- they do not provide any support for electrical wiring. The technician sent to take measurements made critical errors. One shade didn't fit, and another had the electrical wires installed on the wrong side. Due to these mistakes, the shades had to be reordered. Since I live in New York, I was told reorders could only be placed after the incorrect shades arrived at the New Jersey store -- causing yet another unnecessary delay. Once the shades finally arrived in NJ (after 5 days), I was told they couldn't give me any estimate of when they'd be delivered from the warehouse. Completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, I was instructed to pick up wires from a warehouse -- a half-day ordeal -- only to discover that the wires were already included with the shades when they arrived. I've made at least 20 phone calls to the store and contacted customer service multiple times. Not once did anyone offer meaningful support or attempt to make things right. There was zero customer recovery. To add insult to injury, you're required to pay in full before installation. I paid several thousand dollars more than 4 weeks ago and still have no shades -- no product, no timeline, no accountability. All I have left is to leave this review and hope others don't go through the same ordeal. read more

I ordered blinds and in less than ONE year, the product started fraying on the sides and blackening. It took weeks of back and forth with the store and customer service to finally have the blinds sent back to be fixed at their "factory". They were not willing to replace. A few weeks after , I got a call saying they were repaired. But what they sent back are the same blinds, NOT fixed, but actually in significantly WORSE shape. The chalise is completely scuffed up and dirty-like it had been kicked around a dirty floor, the blinds are dirty/dusty and have darkened much deeper on the sides. I had to take off work days to be home during uninstall and reinstall and have lost money already. Customer service here is aggravating. You keep calling a 800 type number and then deal with a different person each time. The store is not involved. BUYER BEWARE, if you have any issue with your blinds it will be a nightmare. They do not escalate and it's a constant game of phone tag that leads absolutely nowhere. I am now being asked to take off more time from work for them to come and "fix" THEIR MISTAKES without any apologies or recourse. In my experience, Blinds To Go do not stand by their products, and I believe they are deceitful and thieves. I do not like to write negative reviews. However, in this case, I felt compelled to do so. This is because we have spent thousands of dollars on what we now realize is a low-quality product from a company with poor customer service, and I don't want others to go through the same experience. My wife and I were seeking custom blackout shades for our children's rooms (with an emphasis on "blackout") to ensure that the rooms could be used for daytime naps. We made our objective very clear throughout the consultation process, and we were assured that the blinds we had selected would achieve the darkness that we needed. To our dismay, after the installation was completed, it was clear that our custom blinds were not blackout at all. Some of the shades had visible lines of light coming through the material itself, and ALL of the shades were installed in a manner that allowed a significant amount of light to enter the room - there is more than a one-inch gap between the window and the shade! A few of the shades were also cut unevenly, or cut too short (or not installed properly). When we expressed our dissatisfaction to the company, we were told "These are custom shades, there are no refunds", and "Merchandising said that was normal", and "The only thing you can do is get drapery panels to cover the gaps", none of which were satisfactory or even actionable responses. We tried calling the company directly to speak with a manager, and never received a call back. Then they gave us the run around again, saying the manager was on vacation. I am convinced that they are just hoping we drop it altogether. If you are in the market for custom blinds, please consider a different company. Otherwise, you may end up thousands of dollars in the hole, having to decide whether to live with a low quality solution, or spend thousands more dollars to replace them. This has to do with the pull down shades I had installed in kitchen in 2021 along with other window treatments I purchased for my home at the same time from the Lakewood, NJ office. The sales process and delivery was time-consuming. At that time, I was told by salesperson that they were warrantied for life and that if it broke or something went wrong with them someone would come out and fix them or they would be replaced. Ok so fast forward to July 22, 2024. After dealing with the cord housing at top of shade malfunctioning for about 2 years, I was finally able to focus on this as the prior 3 years had been prioritized with elder care. So I called and the man I spoke too was curt, abrupt and rude and said it would cost $88 to have someone come out and pick it up and have it fixed. I said that was not my understanding and thought it was unfair. He was non-responsive and just asked which credit card I wanted to use or take it down myself and drive it to Lakewood. Not around the corner from me. Also I have an injury that prevents me from reaching up at certain angles. He didn't care. So I paid. Guy came out and took shade and said they'd order a new one as this one was broken. Really after only 2 years? (that's when issue started) I don't have kids yanking on it. So the new one came in and I called 7-31-2024 to make appt. Well guess what? I have to pay another $88 to have it reinstalled unless I go pick it up and install it myself. A different guy says the product is warrantied but they won't come out there for life and pick it up and bring it back. I said why not if your product is made well you won't have to. Reliable companies do the right thing because they know their product is of good quality. You shouldn't have to inconvenience your customer especially if getting up on a ladder and carrying an awkward object isn't safe or doable for that individual either due to age or injury. No response just asked for credit card or did I want to pick it up. So of course I had to pay AND wait two weeks for them to do this. I will never buy from B2G again. I own my own business and I would never do this to my clients since I want to deliver a great experience, meet their goals and receive referrals. This is not an honorable way to treat customers who you want to refer you and be happy. You want to make customers your advocates. For the money I paid for all of the shades I bought, I would have expected better treatment. Actually anyone should get top notch care regardless of how much they spend. I do not recommend these people or their product as it doesn't hold up even with gently use. read more

Was unhappy with the blinds and the service. Felt I payed a high price and got very cheap looking blinds after an unexplained 2 months delay. Some of the blinds also broke and fell within a day of installation. I am pleased that after explaining how unhappy we were with the service and reaching a manager they came to pick up the broken and unbroken blinds and gave us a full refund. read more

Very expensive (yet poorly made) products along with disappointing customer service. I very much DO NOT recommend. We purchased Roman shades about a year and a half ago from this location and were assured that the shades carried a lifetime warranty. About 6 months ago we noticed a few small holes in the fabric. Due to the demands of a brand new baby and a toddler it took us longer than we would have liked but we finally dismantled the blinds and brought them back to the store only to be told that the warranty doesn't apply to the fabric. Um. What? According to the sales rep, if we would have brought the blinds back sooner then they would have replaced the fabric but it's been too long. In fact the exact response was "how do we know that you didn't put the holes there?" Please save yourself the headache and get your windows covered elsewhere read more

I placed my order around 5/23/24 this year. I was given a quote and a date for measurements approximately a week later. Before I left the store I left a deposit for $1100 which was more than 50% of the order total. The technician came to my home and measured my windows. A week later I get a call that the technician messed up the measurements and needed to come back out to measure the following week... well that happened twice. After the third measurement they called me back and told me my price had gone up close to $1000. Finally it was time for installation. Again I was given a time window between 4-8p. I received a confirmation text message that the installer was running late and would be at my house around 8p. Well I have two small children and theres nothing like interrupting bed time. So the installers arrive only to find out they messed up the measurements and 2 of the 4 window treatments don't fit. I finally got a new installation appointment for today 8/22/24 8a-2p. They never showed and I received a text message from the installer that he's be at my house around 7-8p. As I am writing this review, I received a text message that they would be here around 830p. After ordering our set of 16 wooden blinds and a drapery for one of the 16 windows, they have come many times to fix problem after problem and we still don't have what we want. We ordered back on November and it's May and we have been calling and they don't call back to fix our problems which are: longer drapery than it should be, it was not measure right, wrong measurement of blind, (they came three times with the wrong measurement again and again! another blind doesn't come down, another set is crooked, the guy made a bunch of holes on the wall and left without saying anything or fixing them! The worst is that they reschedule last minute after I have taken off from Work to be at home for them to come and fix something, they have been in my house at least 6-8 times and we still have the pole of the drapery scratched, (it was installed like that!!) drapery being too long and unpleasant at the eye. The sticks of the blinds fall apart every time you open or close them. It's unreal to pay more than 5K for such a shitty job. Do not take your business here! For Kim: I don't see how to reply to your message, my order number is 895259 .order placed on November 20th of 2021. For your information I had an appointment on the 17th and they canceled the same day and reschedule for the 26th, they have again canceled and rescheduled. This is not a negative review of this particular location but of the quality of their product in general. We ordered Roman shades a little over a year ago. They were good for a while and then we started having an issue with the top of the shade falling over from the top of the frame. Turns out that the top is only held in place with double sided Velcro tape. Since the blinds are only meant to open upwards, I'm not sure why the top couldn't be of sturdy/permanent construction. Seeing that they were not cheap, I am very disappointed with what seems like a cheaply made finished product. Next time I will be spending my money elsewhere. read more

We purchased a new house so had lots of windows to order for and I cannot stress enough how confusing the consolation was but thought we knew what we were getting. If you are thinking about buying blinds from Blinds to Go, I urge you not to. After putting down a mandatory 50% deposit, I waited 7+ weeks for my blinds to be made, with extremely poor communication from my salesperson, Ashley H (Milford, CT, store). I had to wait nearly 3 weeks to get an installation appointment, and that's when I was informed by Ashley that the balance was due in 2 days!! When I balked at paying for something before it was installed and I was satisfied, she became even nastier and ruder and informed me that if I cancelled the order at that point, I'd lose my full deposit. Yeah, I don't think so. That's why I put the deposit on a credit card, which I will be disputing. And if that doesn't work, I will take BTG to small claims court for my $1100 back. read more

I hate that I have to write a negative review, but I felt I had no choice but to call this terrible company out. I wish I would have read all the other negative reviews before placing my order. DO NOT ORDER YOUR BLINDS FROM THIS COMPANY! THEY WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS. I ordered my blinds from their website, and a couple of weeks later the blinds showed up at our door. My husband and I went down to put them up in our remodeled bathroom. We followed the instructions and pre-drilled the holes for the screws, however as we were putting in the screw the screw broke in half. We assumed that it must have been us doing something incorrectly, then the second screw broke in half! After some frustration, we decided to put up the second bracket using screws we had from our "home repair kit". The screws went in without a problem. Then back to the broken screws in the wood frame of our window...we had to go buy a special tool from the hardware store to remove the broken screws, so our $40 blind turned into a $65 blind. In the end, the blind is up using screws NOT from Blinds To Go. We called the company to inform them that their screws were defective, and broke on us twice. They asked us to send pictures, which we did right away. They said they would call back that night, but it took them 3 DAYS to call me back. In the end, Blinds To Go said that we were at fault for mishandling their screws, and they don't cover installation mistakes. What company accuses their customers of wrong doing? They could have offered to send replacement screws or maybe a 10% refund for the trouble (a whole $4)? But no, not even an apology from this company that they sent defective screws. read more

The blinds do not always lock into place when moving the cord and worst, when I try to lower the blinds after raising them, they will not move down easily unless the blinds are open.
