I have been living without blinds or curtains for almost 3 years now! Luckily, my neighbors down the street were so kind to think of us when they remodeled their windows. They gave us their Hunter Douglas blinds from their sliding door that they tore down. Pam cam over and took a look at what my neighbors gave me. She took some measurements and also wanted to try to make those blinds from my neighbors work so that we wouldn't have to spend anything extra! I love that Pam is really honest and helpful. She was so sweet and really easy to work with. She made it really easy to select the shade and colors that I wanted (since there are so many options). It also helped that my neighbors already gave us something to start with, too! Pam ended up taking my blinds with her so that she can make sure that she designs the best fit for my house. She even wrote specific instructions to her installer, who is her husband, Roger. I saw the paper and drawing that she left with him! Roger came over a couple weeks after to install my blinds that I ordered. Everything turned out perfect! He was really professional, and did his thing in a really quick timeframe. He put them up and even took away my old blinds from the master bedroom (which I am glad about since I had no idea how I was going to dispose of them in my regular trashcan due to the size. I also don't have a vehicle large enough to bring it anywhere else). After Roger was finished installing our new blinds and cleaned up after himself, he came by to show me everything. He also gave me a tutorial on how to use the blinds (put them up, down, if they get stuck, how to clean them, etc). He also told me that if anything were to happen, there is a warranty and that I could call them to repair. Overall, I had a good experience with them! They were really easy to work with, professional, friendly, nice, and they showed up on time. They carry Hunter Douglas blinds, which are really high quality. They look really pretty and add that extra class to any household. Now my family and friends can come over and not worry about people staring inside the house because we have blinds now! I've only written a few reviews - ever. Today I just have to write and share what a wonderful experience it was to work with Pam and her talented shutter installer, Chris. My husband and I bought a fixer upper, and, as a teacher, I am on a limited budget. Since every window in the house needs an update, I researched and compared prices with more than 5 local businesses, including Costco, JC Penney Home, and Home Depot. Blinds on a Shoestring offered the best pricing - and the products (plantation shutters / Roman shades) far exceeded the others in quality! When our beautiful shutters were installed, they were perfect. Except for one thing - I made a mistake and ordered them with a tilt bar. It wasn't what I thought I was getting, and I was sick to tell Pam (or break it to Chris, who had worked several hours to get it just right). Pam was understanding about the miscommunication and worked swiftly with Chris to find a solution. I felt horrible, but Pam reassured me that she wasn't happy until I loved my window. Chris, in just a few days, worked tirelessly to create streamlined wood shutters that he graciously installed a second time. I was beyond impressed by how professional and personal this company is... We moved to Alamo and needed some blinds for our windows but this was our third house and I didn't want to spend a lot this time. The moment Pam came to my house it was the best experience. She was adorable and so helpful. She listened to exactly what I wanted and saved me money. She called me several times to check in with me just to let me know she hadn't forgotten about me. When I needed to replace just one blind, my hairdresser encouraged me to call Pam. When Pam first arrived at my house it was like a 'breath of fresh air' coming in the door. Pam has a delightful personality and is passionate about her profession. She is extremely knowledgeable about products and design. She takes into account my ideas/thoughts and budget. Pam is a joy to work with because she sincerely likes helping people. I quickly came to respect and trust her opinion. When I need new window coverings she is readily available to set up a appointment and is always on time. She is never in a hurry but because she is so good at what she does, the whole process becomes quite simple. She can quickly access the room and needs, takes in to consideration my ideas and budget, and then comes up with some amazing ideas. She has provided wall coverings in most of the rooms in our home and I am thrilled with all of them. Rodger is just as delightful as Pam. He comes out and measures beforehand, then installs the blinds when they arrive. The blinds arrive very quickly. An installation date is set up in a short period. Rodger is very respectful in regards to being in someone's home. He always does a thorough job and doesn't rush. I have never written a yelp review but when Rodger left today, I was compelled to do my first one because when Pam and Rodger leave my home, I think to myself...this world needs more people like them! I bought a house in Manteca, CA and wanted to get new blinds throughout the whole house. I was referred to Pam and Rodger at Blinds On A Shoestring. I cannot say enough good things about them. The whole experience was very smooth and easygoing. Pam was available to come to my house to take measurements and worked around my schedule.
