When we moved to Croton in 2019, we had plans for updating and customizing our home. We tried really hard to find good contractors, having had bad experiences in the past. Unfortunately we kept having one bad experience after another. Bad quality, unfinished work, open permits, huge delays, big increases in cost from the estimates, and in general headaches for us to deal with. Fernando came in and fixed all our problems. Other contractors took 3 months to grade, install a basic stone wall, and dig a hole for a rain garden. Then they quoted us $45k to finish the work. When we said that was too high they left us with a mess. Fernando took 6 days to do that same work for half the cost. Then on top of that he fixed a huge mistake the other crew made on the rain garden and installed a good system that makes us much more confident our home is protected from big storms. The whole time he was much more transparent about materials and cost and timing than anyone else we dealt with. We're hoping that he's available for all our future projects and so happy that we finally found such a great contractor. My kitchen is about 400 square feet. I never saw cabinet door samples, or a samples of anything ( backsplash tile, floor choices, etc) and I never got an estimate of how many square feet of cabinets of counter tops that were needed. ( and how that translated to the overall cost).I guess they can tell after a few photos and a measure how much it will cost. I really like to use local contractors, but stay away from this one. They only want to do remodels for people who have loads of money and don't have to worry about overall cost.
