Spaetzle with mushrooms and creamy truffle sauce.
    Cindy Y.

Cute little restaurant in the Jordaan with a warm, cozy ambiance - wood, real candles, pillows, and chill music. Was able to get in without a reservation as I was one person and they have high-top tables next to the small bar that seem to be reserved for walk-ins. Large selection of house wine is very reasonably priced at €6-8. Entrees are also reasonable for Amsterdam, especially this neighborhood. Service was pleasant and fairly reasonsive given there was a table of 10 on a business dinner and all other tables downstairs were full. Honestly the only reason for a 3 was the food. It was bland. Blander than bland. I kept adding cracked pepper and sea salt, and still nothing. I'm taking the fries and Spaetzle home to jazz it up. Very un-Dutch to bring food home but I want the meal I envisioned when I ordered, and I can do that back at the apartment better than the kitchen at Bleu.

While visiting Amsterdam we came here for dinner based on their Yelp reviews and it didn't disappoint. Small restaurant but thankfully they were able to seat us without a reservation. The server was very friendly and answered all our questions about the menu. All of our food was delicious as we enjoyed the nice local ambience.

It was beautifully decorated for Christmas when we were there. We got the window table and enjoyed the street scen going by as we dined. I had the Angus burger with fries and it was delicious! It had several subtle flavors I had never experienced on a burger before.

Angus burger was delicious. Also came with fries

Wonderful cozy spot for dinner with good ambience, good drinks, good food & good service. The chicken bonne femme $23 Euro was wonderful as well as the angus burgers $19. The fries were warm, salty with the delicious mayonnaise dip. Great house wine selection. Recommended by our hotel concierge & it did not disappoint.

They probably have good food by the smell, but I came for drinks. They were able to customize a limoncello spritz which was amazing. Lovely service!

Super busy evening but we had a very attentive server. Everyone at the table unexpectedly received French fries. No complaints from our gang! The mushroom toast was quite delicious. I ordered French onion soup and the Chicken Bonne Femme with some Pinot Grigio. Cozy little place!!

Delicious food, great service and beautiful interior. We were only in Amsterdam for 4 nights and we came here for dinner twice! This place is a gem! It's away from all the touristy spots so it has a certain charm that other places don't have. The food was just amazing. Best fish stew I've had! So good!

Cozy laid-back atmosphere, delicious food and portions, and friendly servers. The main courses are about €20+ and are served with a side of fries and salad. If you want a full course dinner or even appetizers, with great service, go here! It's fine dining at a moderate price.

Steak and lobster with French wine. Tell me what is better ? Don't forget the usual fries you get at most restaurant in The Netherlands !

What a great find this was for me. After a long day of walking around town , the appetite built and did so at the right place ! Bleu is in a great part of town which isn't so crowded around 2pm and neither is the restaurant. The food and beverages were delicious and fairly priced but as always the customer service sets the tone for me. The staff was kind and fun to talk to. Easy recommend from me.

Overall pretty good food but the blaring 80's music in the background gave it an unfortunate Hard Rock Cafe vibe

We kept it classic this time: * The Ribs: Fall-off-the-bone tender as always. They don't over-sweeten the glaze, which I appreciate. * Le Cannibale Royale: The pulled pork on top of the patty is a heavy hitter, but the sauerkraut actually cuts through the richness perfectly. * The Fries: Still some of the most consistent in the city--thin, salty, and actually hot. Service was busy (it's Handboogstraat, so what do you expect?), but the staff was super chill and kept the craft beers flowing. It's loud, it's moody, and it's exactly what I wanted for a late-night feed. Plus, I've noticed they actually take the time to read and reply to feedback here, which is a rare find for a place this popular. Keep doing what you're doing!

Top Notch Breakfast and Dinner…read more.. Brasserie is the restaurant inside the Ambassade Hotel. My wife and I...along with another couple...had 4 breakfasts and 1 dinner there so this review reflects our experience. - Overall: 5 - Location: 5 (for Old Town and the Jordaan) - Exterior: 5 - Interior: 5 - Atmosphere: 5 - Menu: 5 - Food: 5 - Service: 5 (though the head waiter at dinner was full-of-himself) - Price and Value: 5 Pros: - Location: Convenient to the Old Town and Jordaan parts of Amsterdam. - Exterior: Handsome. A beautifully restored and maintained property. - Interior: Contemporary. Brasserie is a high end spot across 3 rooms, yet remains comfortable where conversation is easily accomplished. - Menu: Very healthy buffet at breakfast plus some items which can be ordered. Dinner offers French fare with a relatively light touch...though very different from the wellness-oriented breakfast. - Food: Excellent. The breakfast buffet is not huge, but full of healthy high quality items. I had 3 unbelievable versions of granola spooned from large jars and covered my bowl with the best tasting light Greek yogurt. Fruit and fish was super fresh...bread and pastries baked on premises amazing. Others in our group chose made-to-order egg dishes. It's all part of staying at the hotel. Dinner transformed Brasserie into a bistro with a French twist on many favorite dishes. Check the menu online. Portions are small - as expected - but quality was high. However, prices were very reasonable with most items under $30. - Service: Homey at breakfast..."French" for dinner. Everyone could not have been more friendly and helpful in the morning. Things were a bit more formal at night with a different crew. The chief waiter was very knowledgeable, but we agreed a bit arrogant. - Price and Value: Worth it. I believe the breakfast buffet is only for guests of the Ambassade Hotel. Brasserie is open to the public at night and quite reasonable. - Parking: None. Who has a car in Old Town? Cons: - The only one readily apparent was the brusque, off-the-cuff nature of our main server at dinner. He wasn't over-the-top, but not in keeping with the friendly vibe of the hotel. And that's coming from 2 couples who grew up in New York City and lived for many years in San Francisco and LA. Anyone can...and should...get dinner at Brasserie. There are many reasons to make reservations for a stay at the Ambassade - including access to their breakfast buffet.
