After looking inline and reading your reviews, this establishment appeared to be highly recommended, so drove down from Kentucky to see if they had an opening today, or if I could arrange a consult appointment for another time. Walking into the shop, a lady poked out from behind one of the kiosk. did not greet or welcome, so I asked about a specific service. She gave me a very kirt response, and then ducked back in the kiosk, feeling unwelcome and unwanted, we stepped out of the establishment and as soon as we stepped out, she immediately locked the door. It would have been nice to at least been greeted and communicated to a little bit more pleasantly and suggest options for scheduling an appointment and or a consult, to which I would've greatly appreciated. This is unfortunate.

She is super sweet and made me feel very comfortable. She was gentle with my wash and gave me the most relaxing scalp massage. My cut came out perfect and exactly what I asked for. She styled it beautifully. My blowout has lasted all day and my hair is so bouncy and soft. I made sure to book a follow up cut in six weeks. The salon is very clean with lots of seating. Very relaxed environment and everyone is friendly. It was surprisingly quiet and I felt very comfortable. I'm excited to explore coloring options at my next appointment. They also do men's cuts which is great for a couples day date.

Second time was actually a pleasant experience for just a cut and tinsel. Third time I came in for calico hair coloring they originally gave me an estimate of 400+ dollars. When I told them I'd just do color correction for 100+ the price was worked out to 200+. We did a color correction/lift and a bleach bath and after that it was communicated we wouldn't be able to achieve blonde. I understand to a degree but I also wished we tried a stronger product to remove hair coloring. At the very least we could have tried a test strip first to see how it would lift before doing the entire underneath. Even if there was slight damage the point of a salon is to get things done that are more risky at home as they also have access to stronger repairs and mask. Instead she wanted to just slap red on and keep it at the same price. We agreed to do a light copper brown and red but the underneath still came out pretty much all red and I was still required to pay next to full price minus ten dollars. I understand the time and work was still put into it but the course of action and the outcome just didn't meet any standards of liking. If it just came out to three distinct colors I would have been content but instead I walked out with a hair style I've achieved multiple times on my own at home for 30 dollars or less :(. The vibe was great and the lady I had that second time was easier to communicate with but this visit just wasn't it and I wouldn't trust to do any other services unless a haircut. The hair stylist are nice and I think for more generic styles this isn't a bad place but definitely need to watch prices and may want to look elsewhere for bold alt styles. The communication could have just been off for us both and I still tipped out of respect for the time it took but I've literally had others ask if my hair is still a work in progress stage. I will say the two distinct colors in the pictures are on purpose but you can see the uneven coloring even within the strips and all the tips just came out to a muddied dark red. Update: I washed my hair with cool water and the colors just didn't hold either. It already looks dull and just getting more upset at this point with the wasted time and money. The owner replied under here stating that a test strand was given as an option but that is not the case. We went straight into color lifting without a test strand even being mentioned. Just so lies aren't spread and those who do decide to go here- make sure a strip test is done.

I can snapshot a picture on here if you would like me to refresh your memory? I did not show up to my next appointment after the condition you left my hair in, I don't think anyone would at that point. You left my hair bronze and gold and you did not even have the respect to text me back when you knew I was unhappy with my hair. I have been with a new stylist who has not had any issues lifting my hair at all. It's one thing to mess up but you should be embarrassed to be dishonest like this.

She knows what she's doing. On the day I went in, I wanted a color and cut. I was really tired of the wirey greys making me feel 137 years old. I went in a brunette, with medium length hair no layers. I came out with lighter brown hair, blonde highlights, and an amazing cut that is simple to fix. Sara has cut my hair for many, many years (decades actually) and I've always been extremely happy when I leave the salon. We moved to the area in 2020 during the onset of covid, to say it was difficult to find all new personal services is an understatement. I came across the Madison Salon, made that call for an appointment. Its been 5yrs since I walked through the doors, alittle nervous sitting down in a new stylists' chair. Heike is an extraordinary skilled stylist, with a superior european flare. I wear a very short cut and it is a challenge to find a stylist who gets my exact vision. Heike is nothing short of fantastic. I've had one super cut after another over the years. The salon is fun an upbeat. The team of stylists from salon owner Dee to Heike and Cheree make you feel like extended family. Hands down the Madison Salon is one of Clarksville's true gems.
