Thank God for Stephanie. I moved to Clarksville 4 months ago and have avoided finding a hairstylist out of "shear fear". (Ha. See what I did there?) In full disclosure, my hair is not a very traditional style. It is shaved on one side and, because I'm a corporate American, my ask was that my length be kept (there really wasn't length), that a slight angle was established from back to front, a dark wine colored ombre color and that this weird, hideous, "shelf" layer that someone else created be blended in. Stephanie achieved all of this and it looks fantastic from color to cut. When she asked if I wanted her to style it before I left, I said that I didn't care. I mean, I work from home and my husband is not the most amazing at noticing things. Her response was to say, "Well, I want to girl! You gotta take advantage of a chance to look pretty!" Stephanie is bubbly; as in, like a champagne bottle being opened after it was vigorously shaken. She's BUBBLY...and it's not annoying. It's heartwarming. The staff were beyond friendly and my stylist made me feel so welcomed, easing my anxiety of seeking color and a cut outside of my home salon in KY. The price for a shampoo & cut was very affordable. I feel very fortunate to have chosen this salon. Since getting my haircut and receiving dozens of compliments from people around town, I've discovered that several women I know also go here for cuts and color! I came to Chameleon Salon because well, it's almost my birthday and I decided to go get my hair done. It's been a while since I've had it professionally done. I looked at reviews online and I decided to go in and see if they can do the color I wanted and if so, to make an appointment. I was greeted at the door with a friendly face and a clean facility. I then asked the person at the front desk if she can recommend a girl that specializes in reds. I then proceeded to show her a picture of what I wanted and she responds with "oh that's pretty', that looks like a Bayalage; yes we can definitely do it. So I was pretty excited that they could do it! I made the appointment for the following day and once again was greeted with a smile and was welcomed. The stylist asked me questions on cut and color and I pulled up the picture to reference what I wanted. The stylist gets started on my hair and everything is going good she was very nice. She finished up with my hair and it's pretty but because I am the way I am I didn't say anything ; it's not at all what the picture looked like. It wasn't bright and vibrant like the picture I showed. It was kinda disappointing that they said they could do it but didn't. When I got to the front to pay she told me the price was $404!! I was honestly dumbfounded. I understand I have long hair but that was a bit excessive and I have never paid that much for my hair anywhere even in California. Loved this salon! I scheduled an appointment here on the Yelp app a couple days out. From the salon, I received reminder emails & texts. I thought it was a fantastic idea since they do have a cancellation fee if you don't call 24 hours ahead of your appointment to cancel. The prices are decent, plus they offer a military discount of 10% off services and products in salon. I went in to get a much needed cut so I went in to get a bob, because it is just too hot to have hair in this humid state. (Pictures included). When I arrived, the woman at the desk was really kind and welcoming. They offered a small array of beverages and snacks while waiting. There were only 2 people in the salon doing hair as they seem to only go by appointment, so it wasn't super busy or rushed to get to the next person waiting. My stylist was Marissa (I believe that's her name). She listened to what I wanted and did an amazing job after looking at the few pictures I showed her. After she finished & styled my hair, she talked me through products I could use for short hair in humid weather, and recommend a few they have in shop. She showed me ones that were a variety of prices so I could decide if I wanted something more affordable. She talked to me the entire time on the same level and was lovely, instead of talking down and being cold like some other hair stylists I've encountered in the past. I would definitely go back to her if we weren't moving soon. I totally recommend her! I had gotten a shampoo, cut, and style for $40. Plus, I got the smooth serum (yellow bottle) with a discount for about $30. All in all, a great product and fantastic cut. read more

Well I spent $130 to have my hair cut and colored. Even though I booked a 3-4 hour appointment she "didn't have time" to give me the color I actually wanted. I'm not confrontational so I tried being understanding there... didn't expect to be. Charged the same amount... I really hate my hair cut and I wish I didn't, my husband and daughter like it so I guess that's a plus. . I have had pixie cuts many times and I told her I didn't want that. We cut a solid 12 inches off my hair. I wanted at least a couple inches longer than a pixie. My hair is curly. Once I told her the length in the front was okay she just kept cutting it. I told her I wanted it shorter in the back, she kept cutting every layer shorter and not taking the length up on my neck line so it looks like I have a mullet. I hate it, like I cried this morning doing it because It's terrible. So I'll be going to like great clips to fix my neck line... for $16 The customer service was great though, the people were incredibly nice. But $130 to walk out with the same hair color and a hair cut I hate even though I sent her MANY pictures and gave her a detailed explanation. I thought I'd go back to her, she was seriously so kind and fun to talk to but come on. Biggest waste of money I've ever spent. Id suggest this place to any white girls with blonde straight hair. read more

I recently moved to Clarksville and needed to find a new place to get my eyebrows waxed. There are so many salons and spas in this area that deciding where to go can be an overwhelming task. I finally opted for Chameleon Salon based on their close proximity to my home and the numerous online reviews for the salon. I was able to easily get a same day, afternoon appointment on a Thursday with a young woman named Marissa. I arrived about five minutes prior to my appointment and was welcomed by a very polite, attentive receptionist who offered me a beverage and engaged in light conversation. I was soon met by Marissa who led me through a very clean, modern facility. I was allowed to choose the reclining salon chair if my choice which, despite my 6'2" height, was very comfortable. Marissa was very polite, courteous, and professional. She listened to me carefully as I explained what I wanted done with my brows and asked follow-up questions to ensure she knew exactly what I wanted. The procedure only took 10-15 minutes and left my bushy brows looking more more refined and neat. I experienced no irritation or discoloring following the waxing. This was a great initial visit with Chameleon Salon and I plan to return soon. The brow waxing was cheaper than my former venue, and on par with quality of work. I just moved here and after searching and reading reviews I thought I found a amazing place. OH NO! The girl who did my hair seemed more suited for a low end salon. She talked slow and struck me as just not classy or educated. My hair feels dry and the highlights are horrible. My cut doesn't seem to flow or blend like I'm use to. When I mentioned that it felt dry she said it's because it's winter and everything dries out because of that. I have NEVER been told this by any other stylist. Tonya I'm sorry but that sounds like an excuse! I would call to get a redo but I'm terrified it will go just as this appointment did. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
