I have been to this salon three different times now and every time I leave more than pleased. When I initially came in it was because a different salon had messed up my hair and had orange patches all over my head. I had Hannah Marie for this appointment and she did an amazing color correction. I wanted to try hair extensions for the first time and they fit me in for the next day with amber and they color matched me right there in the salon! It was such an easy process and Amber did a great job. My last appointment I had Katie Rose and she took my hair extensions out instead of me getting them moved up because I wanted to go lighter. Initially my hair looked darker but they said it would lighten up as it did! My hair is more of an ashy color now which is what I wanted! No more warm tone to it and I'm very pleased! I had a great experience here! I came for the first time on Thursday and got my hair cut and dyed by Paxton (with the help of Whitney who was also awesome). Paxton was super sweet and did an AMAZING job on my balyage and cut my hair exactly how I wanted. The girls at the front desk were also super sweet and inviting when I came in at first and came by with all kinds of goodies and drinks while I was in the process to make my experience even better. When I got home afterwards, I got to looking at my hair and realized my root shade was a little darker than I would've liked around my face. Absolutely nothing was just wrong with it, but I still wanted to lighten it up. I called the next morning and explained that I'd like to alter it and they were awesome enough to squeeze me in on Saturday morning to change it free of charge as a "follow-up." Ok, where do I start with this.... Well I will start by saying that I really had high hopes but the end of the results were a nightmare. I went there and asked for a bayalage / ecaille, but all I got was a head full of highlights , which reminded me of 2001. I don't know how she got bayalge mixed up with highlights. So then I ended up going to a different salon to get it fixed because it was a Sunday and I could not keep that hair color on any longer. The stylist there took a picture of my hair in the back, because it was full of orange patches and it looked horrible. Then comes on Monday I called Luster's and told them how messed up of a job the stylist did, and they have the tendency to tell me that I should had read the policy on line, which all I kept thinking was that; when I get my hair done I don't think what I would do if they mess up my hair, because if I have that doubt in mind then I wouldn't go to that particular salon. So they book me an apt for them to fix the bottom of my hair with the same stylist that messed up my hair, so when I asked them if I can get someone else, one of the girls there gave me an attitude , like it was fault that chelsie messed up my hair... And No No I refuse to have the person that messed my hair the first time, to touch my hair again, my hair is not an experiment for someone to learn from. While thinking about it, when the owner seen my hair at the chair, I could see it on her face on how my hair was messed but didn't even say anything. Also, it makes sense why chelsie was rubbing my hair like she was washing clothes at the sink with the toner on, which I never never had anyone do that to my hair, so come go think about it.... She was trying to take off the color out of my hair. This experience was horrible. I wound not been so mad if chelsie or the owner would had been honest and told me that the color didn't come out right, and then I would had been more understanding of the situation. On the last note, I tried out Tiffany's and I had Mindy which was an awesome experience compare to Luster's, and she was able to fix what chelsie messed up. To the owner, I wouldn't had a problem coming back to get it fixed only if f they would had someone else fix it and not chelsie. I don't have anything against her but I don't feel safe for her to put color on my hair again. Finally, I would had appreciate it if you would had told me that the color didn't come out right, because I seen the look that you had when you seen the color. I really didn't see the color 100% until I got home and I tried to like it but I couldn't . Update: I just noticed my picture was deleted and it's just sad to see how this owner tries to build her clientele... it is just deceiving especially to those ladies that are very particular about their hair and/or have had bad experiences in the past.... it's just wrong. read more

Every time I was here I was given the stylist in training for a professional price. I am sitting at a salon right now only to discover that they destroyed my hair. I got black along my hairline and within days of getting it, the color washed out and left the color very uneven. I'm now spending 200+ dollars to have it corrected so I can actually change it. I am not happy at all. Update: I noticed it when it was far past too late. I figured it wasn't that significant and that for some reason I didn't get all the dye out when I did wash it. Whatever the case may be it cost me a good amount of money to even out. read more

I really liked this salon. It's easy to get to. No problems parking, and the staff is very nice. I was impressed with the free extras like the hand dip and the make up touches. I feel like I got the color I asked for and the stylist knew what she was doing. My reason for not giving this place 5 stars was because I always ask how much everything is while I'm in the chair before the stylist starts to avoid any surprises at check out. As everywhere I've ever gone has charged more than their internet price. I was told one price before she started for my all over color and then charged more at check out. When I asked why I was told it was because I needed an extra 1.5 ounces of color than she thought I would. The price difference from what I was quoted and what I was charged was $14. That seems like a lot for 1.5 ounces. Overall, I would go there again and recommend it to friends. read more

I went here for the first time last week. I got a root touch up and a hair cut. The touch up came out pretty good, the hair cut so-so. They did an okay job. I'm happy-ish with it. My hair is really thick and during the cut it definitely got thinned out a little too much which I wasn't thrilled with. This may sound weird but I felt the hair wash (my favorite part haha) could have been a little more thorough and luxurious. Other salons (even in Clarksville) take more time with it and not only is it more enjoyable but my hair looks great and then lasts for longer. The salon is very pretty inside and my stylist was nice. They took me on time and finished my hair on time too, which was good. I would maybe try them again but am not completely sure. read more

Amazing! Well knowledgeable on hair dyes, what I want and products. They were so amazing and very friendly. Well priced and held the sanitizing standard per CDC guidelines. Stacy did a great job on my hair. The cut is amazing and my color is the best it's been in years. As a stylist I couldn't of asked for a better experience. Her friendly demeanor eased my nerves on having my long hair cut after a traumatic hair cut years ago. She was personable, professional and most of all, talented! The salons atmosphere was modern, relaxing and pretty posh. Their hours work well with my busy schedule. The free paraffin dip, beverages and goodie bag was a nice touch too. My only issue was being quoted a price on the phone when making my appointment and then being charged substantially more at the register after everything was said and done. It made me uncomfortable and I felt like the up sell was sneaky. Either that or the salons policy on quotes and price structuring need to be communicated clearly and more thoroughly to customers BEFORE the services are rendered. The end of my appointment left too much of nasty taste in my mouth, especially when the front desk customer service failed to fix the misunderstandings. I feel conflicted. I would love to return to Stacy for upkeep on my high maintenance hair color but I don't want to walk away feeling taken advantage of again. I pay $$$ for the experience. It's a bummer that luster has potentially lost Stacy a long term client over poor communication and much to be desired customer conflict resolution. Stacy gets 5 stars. The location is smaller but extremely nice on the inside. The front desk girl gave me a tour of the salon and a run down of the products they sell which was nice. My appointment was with Breanna. For you to understand my thrill, I must first explain that I am fastidious to an obsessive degree about my hair. I've been going to the same guy for over eight years but my hair grows freakishly fast so it was past my waist when I decided I could no longer wait to get a haircut. I did the unthinkable and looked for a new hairdresser. I have been with friends to other hairdressers and I have witnessed some pretty horrible things so I was not exactly looking forward to deviating from my hairdresser. Unfortunately, I no longer live in San Diego. I scoured reviews for days, looking in Clarksville, Hopkinsville, and Nashville. Finally I decided on Luster Salon. They booked me for noon the following day which surprised me, especially since it was with the owner, Carmella. I had decided on donating my hair, meaning that the cut would be drastic so needless to say, I was nervous. When I walked in, I was greeted by the friendly receptionist. She offered me a beverage and proceeded to give me a tour of their facility. It is very clean and nicely decorated. Carmella appeared a couple of minutes past my scheduled appointment time but it was not more than 5 minutes. She is not overly chatty but I appreciate that she listened to exactly what I wanted before reaching for the scissors. That is very important for me because it saves us from disastrous miscommunications. There was a scalp massage before the hair wash which was nice. The hairwash was short compared to my past experiences but they use Moroccan oil so at least it smelled delicious. Another thing I liked about Carmella is that she explained what products she used every step of the way. She took her time with the haircut. She took off a little at a time, making sure not to take off too much. As she says, "we can always take more off but we can't add it back on." I like that she's not shear-crazy. She really put me at ease. She uses some of the same techniques my hairdresser uses which caused some nostalgia. She knows what she is doing. I am extremely happy with my haircut which is now above my shoulders! She touched up my makeup and gave me a welcome gift with quite a few goodies. All in all, it was a great experience and I will be going back. I do recommend Luster Salon to everyone. read more

I just moved to Clarksville from Seattle and needed to find a new hair salon. This definitely was worth checking out! The salon itself is small but really well done, clean and bright, and plenty of magazines, etc around the waiting area. I had a haircut with Rachel who is apparently a junior stylist but you wouldn't know it. She did a great job figuring out what I wanted, asked a lot of questions about how I do my hair, how much time I spend on it, etc. The cut looks great! I am trying to grow my hair out, and she did a great job making sure she wasn't cutting off more than I was comfortable with... I'm docking one star, because they did lay on the extra services, extra products, come back in 6 weeks, etc a little bit thick for my taste... When I first found Luster Salon, I had procrastinated a much needed haircut until the day before my birthday, and of-course, I wanted to get a same-day appointment. After calling some of those 'featured' Google listings to no avail, I came across Luster and hoped for the best. It was one of the most pain-free brow waxes I've ever had and the shape is just the way I like it. I've been meaning to post! I recently yelped to find the right place to color my hair and fix what was done by another local salon. I hate to wait for things once I've made up my mind, so I booked the soonest available appointment with whatever stylist that was available. I wasn't too worried when I booked with the junior stylist mainly because of the yelp reviews I read. Kaitlin did a wonderful job! She took the time to understand what it was I wanted and even consulted with Carmella, the owner, before mixing the colors. Even though I was the last client of the evening, Carmella stayed present and engaged. Kaitlin herself was very intelligent and I could tell her and Carmella's vision aligned and appreciated her for asking for input. Kaitlin was a sweet heart and I enjoyed our conversations. She seems to genuinely want to know about her clients. Carmella seems to be a great mentor and boss as well. I've spent many years in management and always pay attention to how staff are treated and she seemed to be very open and ready to offer out suggestions and tips to her staff. She also seemed to be quite approachable and friendly. My hair looks wonderful and, after posting this, will be scheduling an eyebrow wax!
