I love this place for breakfast/brunch! Their açaí bowls are incredible and so is the cold brew and the matcha green tea. The customer service is always really good, the ladies at the counter genuinely seem to like their jobs. The inside of the restaurant is super cute, lots of tables and comfy chairs and there's even outside seating facing the water. I ordered a chicken wrap here last time I came and it was a little dry, even after I added honey mustard to it. However, that's the only item I've ever ordered here that was not great. The first reason I love blend is that it is just different for Jacksonville. We really need more creative local businesses like this one. The vibe inside is relaxing and the staff are friendly. I've tried the toasts and they are all delicious,however the smoothies are my favorite thing to come here and get. Overall it just feels like a really great place to be. What a gem! Blend has a welcoming atmosphere and kind staff. There are plenty of seating options, inside and out, and a surprisingly nice view of the river! The food and coffee are pretty good, especially the food for the price. The service can be a tad slow, depending on who is working. The level of experience seems to vary, which is to be expected. Was super excited to love this place! Nutrition Bar in JVille....finally! But, it serves as more of an Instagram backdrop than a nutrition bar. Everywhere you look someone is taking a picture, workers included. The place is beautiful, but I'm not down to pay money to take a picture for the gram. We ordered two fresh-pressed juices since their "teas" are Herbalife = garbage. And two slices of toast one Nutella and one avocado. $42 LATER, we received a child-size juice and our toasts. Both tasted well, but $42? That's as much as a meal for a small family out to dinner! That's ridiculously overpriced. You can get this exact same thing at First Watch for brunch and it's more food for way less! Unless, you have been bitten by the MLM Pyramid Scheme of Herbalife, pass on this place. Or if you're down to pay for pictures to post for the gram, then go right ahead. I've been getting pressed juice everywhere. 1. They don't that sweet. 2. Typically they're around 7 bucks too but you'll get a full big bottle. Not half a cup. The banana split was nothing but banana with peanut butter and chocolate and fruits. All surgery. I Don't Know how places that claim to be nutritious make everything so sweet that it gave me and my friend a headache. This was my first time here since they are relatively new opening up a month ago. Personnel: They were extremely friendly and bubbly. The woman explained their menu to me and gave me a few recommendations of their menu. They gave us excellent customer service and it left us with a smile. Interior: Great aesthetic! Lots of pink and green real vegetation. Accompanied by leather seats and wooden tables. Lots of areas for taking pictures with friends in the inside as well as murals on the outside Food: Food was brought relatively fast and was really good quality. Fresh berries and sugar free açaí base left us feeling satisfied and not hungry. We were told the avocado toast and the liquid motivation( a layered drink that is equivalent to two cups of coffee) are fan favorites. Outside: Very cute outdoor seating! Very close by the water and nice relaxing seating with shade. Passing by this place, we thought it was closed. I used to work at a place like this back home and it was NOT as expensive as this place. $8 for a toast is ridiculous... it was good but it wasn't all that. It didn't taste seasoned at all which was disappointing it was like I was eating a plain avocado. My drink was also overpowering. I like to know what goes in my drinks (I'm sure most people do) so an explanation on a menu I would recommend like most places do. I opted to come here for a smoothie today since my daughter wanted one and I didn't want to go to the store for fruit. The cost ended up being similar to making it myself. Although I'm not thrilled about paying $7 for a 12oz smoothie, the convenience was worth it. And I hadn't been here yet to try the cafe. I mentioned I enjoy an iced caramel macchiato with extra caramel at Starbucks, and the staff made something similar that was pretty good but not quite the same. I also got a 12oz banana smoothie for my 17-month-old, although a 6oz option would've been better for her, there wasn't a smaller option. We ended up refrigerating the extra for later when we got home. My 5-year-old chose a mixed berry smoothie, both smoothies costing $7 each. Even though I received my coffee promptly, the smoothies were delayed for 20 minutes. When I decided that it was taking a while and I finished my coffee I went inside and told the staff I would just take the smoothies to go, the staff seemed surprised and annoyed they had forgotten. They made the smoothies quickly and gave us a gift card for 2 free kids smoothies to make up for the wait. The outdoor seating was great for keeping the kids entertained. I'll give them another shot, hoping for better service next time. Edit for the review. I didn't feel like they were annoyed with me. I felt like they were annoyed that the smoothies were forgotten. And you're right I looked at the transaction on the card and it was $5, not $7. I still stand that there should be a smaller size of 6oz for smaller kids. But we did refrigerate the rest. I really wanted to like this place. I arrived at 12:15 and got my order at 12:42. One family of three ordered a head of me. I ordered a blend with no add ons. I have no idea why it took 30 mins. Three customers came in who knew the employees ordered after me and received their products quickly...one was a speciality made blend (got to hear all about it while waiting). The atmosphere was pretty but was ruined by the gossip and small talk between the employees. I finally did ask how much longer after 25 mins and one of the employees went in the back and came out 2 mins later with my order. The decor and view are very aesthetically pleasing along with the board games on each table but we waited over 15 mins for a simple smoothie. Although they did taste decent once we finally got them, it did not seem like they use actual fruit as there were no signs of fruit pieces/skins within the drink. They also do not advertise what is being put into the drinks nor can you see them making them as they make them in the back behind closed doors. Only 1 of them greeted me and made some small talk with me, I assume she was the owner. 3-Product The product, Oh the product...... I ordered a Pucker(watermelon&lime flavored juice) and a white chocolate salted caramel protein shake. The shake was alright nothing bad to say about it. the Juice however is another story. biggest thing that threw me off was the fact that they put BANG! energy drinks in the stuff and that makes it taste awful. i personally don't like BANG! energy drinks and there's other risks that come with having that in a drink i.e people who have extreme heart issues and blood pressure problems. The biggest thing about it is that Blend doesn't disclose on the menu that they're putting that in your drink. which to me is very dishonest. I just don't get how you can put an energy drink that mirrors pre-workout in someones drink and still call yourself a "Nutrition Bar". 4-Price I paid 18$ for my drinks. Better product can be bought at Crush for a 12$ combo, nuff said. 5-Cleanliness/Sanitation Nobody in the business was wearing a Mask.... I made a Yelp just to give this place a review. Like the rest of this town, I was excited to see something new coming to the table. Immediately amongst coming into the establishment, the atmosphere in the store was very off, very unwelcoming, there was no greeting or at least it was unenthusiastic. There were two girls at the counter, neither said a thing but talked amongst themselves. When going up to order, I cracked a little joke, was left with nothing but a side eye. It was just overall not the best customer service. The place inside just feels very unwelcoming. Something very unusual and honestly very concerning is how everything is done in the back. Every cafe and smoothie place does their stuff in front of you. Starbucks makes your drinks in front of you. My friends and I went to Blend this morning for the first time and the customer service was not great. We waited forever to get our coffee and our food where people who got there after us got theirs before us. My coffee spilled all over me because the lid wasn't on very well and I had just received it and wasn't even offered another coffee or any help cleaning it up either. I personally would have thought the response with that since it was due to their cups being flimsy but I got maybe two sips of my coffee and lost my money on it. Love this spot! I'm visiting from Southern California (the land overflowing with vegan, organic, & super foods) because my husband is temporarily stationed here in Jacksonville. He loves it and recommended I eat & do work there, while he's gone during the days this week. As soon as I walked in today I was greeted and felt welcomed. The ambiance is laid back & bright. It's a great place to sit and enjoy your drink/food, and even do work on your laptop. The owners I met are so sweet, hard working, and have a wonderful vision for this recently opened shop. The staff's energy is so positive & contagious. The matcha latte was delicious, as was the avocado toast with hummus! I got a pressed juice later on which was also excellent. I think this is one of the few, if not only, places of its kind in the area. Highly recommend if you're looking for a healthy option! read more
