Unless you are dying you will see a nurse practitioner which is fine, but they also charge you a facility fee which this Urgent Care does not. At the Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Vero Beach you will wait there up to 4-5 hours to be seen unless you are dying. I like this urgent care and the people that work here. Now as a Merchant mariner, for over 45 years, I've done this procedure, successfuly, ever since the USCG instituted it. Also, I was an registered EMT and am still a certificated Medical Officer, aboard ships. So I actually perform these type of exams. myself. aboard ships. Thus I was appalled, as I watched them, firstly screw up the DOT papers I gave them, and then proceed to fumble the Chain-of-Custody procedure. Well, sure enough, the Medical Officer called me and advised that there were "irregularitys", in the received samples, meaning the test was rejected. So now I am under suspicion, for their incompetency. If that was not enough, when I submitted the Physical exam papers, again, I was informed by the USCG, that there were "irregularitys" there, too. So now I can't get a USCG Medical Certificate, which is required to sail--I'm out of work, because of their "irregularities". Also, they charged me almost double what I would have payed, had I just gone to Concentra. Well, so much for going back to work!

Long story short, it took 8 days of iv antibiotics to begin to feel better and they monitored me every 3 days for 2 weeks. They were extremely cautious and attentive. Yes, sometimes the wait is long, but they NEVER rush you out like you're on a timer which of course puts them behind. They have NEVER pushed supplements, I've had to ask for vitamins, etc that might be helpful. All in all...I was very happy with this practice. Unfortunately we have moved out of state and I miss them!

The fourth correct could be considered referral yet 3 weeks lost and an additional three weeks to the next available to remove an abnormal ultrasound site that called for an immediate core biopsy to determine benign or cancerous. I stopped. Next a.m. with an attentive and expert Internal new M.D. PCP! He does not depend on the NP to make his decisions for care. Thank you for the first tests and DX, then you gave your attention to a NP for me to lose 6 weeks when your office received the report the next day. She was rude and disrespectful and completely unwilling to help me resolve an emergent situation. I'm sure the doctors and nurse practitioners are fine providers, but the office staff leaves a lot to be desired at this location! It is a SHAME that my 83 year old mother has to sit in extreme pain because this person (her name starts with a V but I won't disclose it) is too lazy to, at the very least, TRY and expedite a simple prior authorization! God forbid anyone who is a patient there have an emergency that needs authorization! This office seems to not give a crap about their patients! They tried to blame it on the insurance. She is not a good introduction to this office, but she was very good at chewing gum.
