The slide is one of those tall, super slippery jobs that launch you off of it and onto the ground straight on your butt. Then there's the geodesic dome with the chipped paint. And then there are two climbing things: one is kinda like monkey bars, and the other if shaped like some animal. The ground is wood chips, so it's softer than solid ground when falling off the slide (and you will fall off -- I'm telling you, it launches you off).

Restrooms, some with colorful murals on the buildings, are also available during the warmer months. Shelters are also available for gatherings, some with grills. We went during the holidays to walk through their lighted trail and found it enchanting. It isn't a long path but lots of fun with arches, reindeer, Santa's and more. The lights extended through the whole common area and were a delight! We also went inside for a bit and saw some great displays. The fitness area was busy but there were many spaces for people to sit or have kids play while waiting on others. This is a great aspect of the community and we are so thankful for their commitment to providing concerts, activities and other community activities.

I had to pay for shoes and for 5 kids it came out to a little over $21. I have not been here since April, and I noticed they renovated the seats. My kids enjoyed playing, they get competitive so it was fun to watch them really focus and trying hard.

Greene Park has a comfort station with a mural of Dr. Maya Angelou on it. There's also a memorial here dedicated to Indiana AIDS advocate Ryan White, whose story continues to resonate. Greene Park has relatively new playground equipment including ADA and toddler swings, an ADA jungle gym, a percussion set, monkey bars, tunnels, and lots of places for the kids to play including a splash pad. There's also four tennis courts. The park has quite a bit of green space (seems appropriate, eh?) with picnic tables that offer some distance from the park's features to allow for family time or quiet time. There are also some short, easy walking paths within and around the park. Jake Greene Park is relatively small at 10.1 acres and was founded in 1971. Like Yelper Tank G., I wrestled with whether to offer this park a 3 or 4-star rating and leaned heavily toward 3-stars. However, I'm also somebody who appreciates parks with ADA features and despite this park needing some love I do feel like those ADA features have been well cared for here. So, I'm going to go with a 4-star review while noting this really isn't a destination park and could definitely use some additional upgrades.

The park has a restroom shed with a decent mural on it, but I am not sure if it is open. There is also a huge port-a-potty on the opposite in that is used as a smoke shack for some reason. The park's playground is simple, but nice. It is on a bed of wood chips and its equipment includes a bank of ADA/toddler/traditional swings, a percussion set, a quad pod spinner, a merry-go-round, and a large jungle gym with a bunch of slides, monkey bars, and tunnels. The jungle gym is ADA accessible with a ramp that leads to the top.The equipment is in good repair. The park has a large patch of clear green space that could be used for picnics, football games, soccer games, flying a kite, or playing catch. Off to the side of the green space is where you will find a nice tree shaded area with some picnic tables and benches to sit. It look like there is a meeting area over there with benches around a big rock too. There are paved paths that run through the shaded area and around the permiter of the park. The last amenity that the park has is a very nice set of 4 tennis courts that are side by side and fenced in together. The park could use a bit of maintenance and was riddled with trash all over, but it is still good. I was on the fence between a 3 and 4 star review with this one, and thought that it was closer to a 4 than a 3. This is definitely a park to check out, especially in the Summer when the splash pad is up and running.

The guy who helped us and showed my son and his friends how to do auto-belay climbing was so chill and friendly and just a great overall human being. He made the experience so fun for my group of teens. I'm going to stop numbering now, and just talk about Climb Time. It's one of the smaller rock climbing gyms in the area, but it's my teen son's favorite, and he specifically wanted to come here for his birthday, because it's a little more challenging than some of the other rock climbing gyms. There's also a bouldering wall, which he loves. When you walk in, it feels very no-frills: Anyone who comes here really wants to climb. We stayed three hours (which was plenty for teen boys) and it was never crowded, but there were always one or two other people there who looked like they knew what they were doing. They came in, they climbed, and they left. Like I said, this is the place to climb if you love to climb and want a nice, no nonsense experience. I did not climb, but instead posted up on the lobby couch. They offer free wifi here, and I took advantage of that to get a little work done while the kids climbed. There's a small concession area with snack foods like granola bars, protein bars, chips, trail mix, beef sticks, string cheese and treats like M&Ms, Starbursts and cotton candy. There is also cold water for $1, and Monster Energy and Red Bull and protein drinks for $3. There isn't much else in terms of food, though.

On Saturdays, day passes are available to the public, which are $20 and allow you in-and-out access all day. This center is located on the grounds of Camp Belzer, tucked near Ft. Harrison State Park in Lawrence. You'll find lots of fun, family-friendly activities for all ages, including a ropes course, rock climbing and bouldering walls, indoor archery, a makerspace, robotics and technology, and lots more. The ropes course (SkyTrail Air Adventure Course) has 10 different obstacles all connected and suspended 9 feet in the air. Kids must be at least 42 inches tall to go on the course with an adult, and 48 inches or taller to go on the course alone. The ropes course is only open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Lange has two rock climbing walls. The main rock climbing wall features seven lanes for climbing, each lane with four paths to the top that increase in difficulty. The north tower rock wall, with three lanes and three options to get to the top, offers a view out into the camp from the windows. They also have a bouldering wall and bouldering cave. The bouldering cave allows kids to climb around and practice different rock climbing holds freely, but each climber must wear a helmet. Assistants stand by, ready to catch or help each kid. There's also a makerspace room, where kids can learn about and try out different technology, including robots and drones. Here, you can fly drones or make robots move on command using a tablet, make robots move along a path using special markers, and lots more. The room also includes space to try out 3D printing and laser-cutting, tinker with toys, and get hands on while learning about technology and science. Some of the activities change out weekly, and that includes some of the sports. When we visited, they had an indoor badminton court set up, but the week before, that area was designated for indoor archery. There was also a basketball shooting area, cornhole and velcro darts. Drop-ins are welcome at Lange Innovation Center, but the center can also be rented for groups, such as Scouts, clubs and schools. So, calling ahead and reserving a time is highly recommended.

There are plenty of booths and food trucks to keep busy and I got lost in the fairs oddities and cheap treasures galore. The park gets packed early; people come for the carnival and stay for the bells and whistles... or tailgate til showtime. But there is a lot of room as it's a fairly large park and the surrounding area, too, lends itself in neighborhood streets, to parking and walking. This park has a lot to offer on not-event days too, fields for softball and soccer, play areas, trails, a skate park, and facilities. It also has enough foliage and growth to feel like a park.

The process was easy and very informative. All our questions from billing, to location, times, instructors, etc were answered at registration. The first class we came in and we were immediately greeted as we approached the front desk. I let them know it was our first visit. They welcomed us, introduced the instructor to me and my daughter and let us know how the process worked. The class is one hour and there is no wasted time. They move from station to station and get instructions on how to do the work they are focusing on. I look around at all the instructors and students and see many, many smiles and excited faces. I see the kids confidence being boosted as they accomplish the task at their skill level. They are challenged and encouraged. Our instructor's name is Faith. She is doing great with her group. Looking around, I see many instructors with kids at different skill levels all doing great things with their students. I am very happy with this gym. The equipment is well padded, the gym has much to offer in a safe environment. They have an excellent observation area right on floor level where things can be seen and heard. There is also a play area for kids not in gymnastics and WiFi is offered to guests.
