Blaze Pizza, Park Royal North

Blaze Pizza is one of my favourites. I usually do build your own. Love the crust and love the fresh toppings. Was so disappointed when the downtown Vancouver location closed, so now I have to head to this West Vancouver location for Blaze. Thanks Blaze Pizza!

I come every year to Blaze pizza for the pi day sale. (I wish i knew about this years ago!) This year, due to covid, blaze pizza allowed customers to use their pi day coupon in the app anytime until December 31st. I was actually looking to use my pi day coupon in downtown but i was shocked when i learned that the one in downtown permanently closed. The next closest one was in west Vancouver so i drove over there just to redeem my pi day coupon. For those that don't know, the pi day coupon in the app comes every year on march 14th, or 3/14, and you can get any 11 inch pizza for an amazing price of $3.14. The best part is you can choose every topping you want! Yes you heard that right, you can put unlimited toppings. All you need to do is register on their app before then to get this deal. So of course I built my own pizza with practically every meat available and a whole bunch of my favorite veggies (sorry i didn't remember which topping exactly). On top of that, they have finishes on the pizza. I picked arugula and a drizzle of ranch dressing. The pizza was SO GOOD. Like so dang good. My friends had a pi day coupon that they didn't redeem yet and they ordered their own pizzas as well. I can say confidently that my pizza was delicious. However, one of my friend's pizza was slightly overcooked because it was kind of tough to chew and it was a bit burnt (dark brown) at the bottom of the pizza (according to her). Gotta minus a star for that, unfortunately. We would have asked for them to remake it but we all went home already before we tasted it and it would be a hassle to drive all the way back. The service was OK. The lady at the counter was friendly enough and she kindly explained the pi sale ordering process to me. I appreciate that all the staff wore masks and stayed far away when taking my order. (Social distancing is important guys!) The place was clean and I would feel safe eating inside knowing the tables were sanitized after every use and half of them were closed for social distancing. I'm not sure if i would go out of my way to west vancouver for blaze pizza nowadays but i would go back for next year's pi day sale for sure. TL;DR Blaze pizza's annual Pi day sale is the bomb. The pizza was mostly amazing but one of them was a bit overcooked. OK service. Good covid precautions and its pretty clean so eating inside is safe. Also RIP blaze pizza downtown Vancouver.

Sure. Okay. Not bad. Not great, but not bad. I'd probably only eat here again if I'm in the area and I'm hungry, as there are so many other good places to get a better pizza, but again, this pizza want too bad. The service was quick and friendly, and the restaurant was nice and clean.

The place has been teasing me the whole time when they were under construction. We finally got to try the place, and we used the app to order the pizza. We opted for the build your own pizza and it cost $12.85 for 11" pizza (feed 2 people, or 1 ). The cost has included ALL of the trimmings (meat and vegetables), and finishing (arugula, pesto drizzle, etc). The ravenous kiddos opted for a couple of the "simple pie": red sauce, mozzarella, and parmesan. We devoured the pizzas between 5 of us. Mr.8 was so smitten with his meal and we went back and did a dine in the next day. We tried the it takes two deal, which is half pizza (3 slices) with salad. We are glad that this place done the pizza right, specially for the kids. I often find in other places that the sauce is too spicy and/or too strong for the kids' palates. The staff are very friendly and cheerful. I was quite impressed with the head staff on duty that she really did a quality control over each pizza. Tips: download the app to collect points for yummy free drinks (agua fresca, blood orange lemonade) and free pizza

Seriously my favourite pizza place in all of Greater Van atm! The service was actually nice which says quite a lot given that their system is designed kind of like Subway, with the pizza being passed along an assembly line from crust to toppings. The staff were really friendly & strangely sincere despite the place being completely packed. That aside, let's get down to the actual pizza. We did the DIY/Build Your Own for $12.85 & it was incredible. Everything was super fresh. The crust was baked thin & light, with a perfect balance of crunchiness/pillowy softness that never got chewy. The sauce was pretty standard but the toppings were where you really tasted the difference. You have got to try their Ovalini mozzarella; it was delicate but incredibly buttery & was amazing when topped with arugula/basil + their balsamic glaze. They had lots of veggies (including roasted varieties) & drizzles galore. For the proteins/meats, I'd definitely recommend their applewood bacon, grilled chicken & both types of meatballs. All that in under 5min!

So great to hear that Blaze Pizza opened up another location! Recently saw an ad announcing their grand opening with free personalized size pizza the whole day today - Dec 14. The pizza was a very generous size! Can feed two and you can build your own with your choice of crust too. I tried the high rise crust in my recent visit and liked it just as much as the thin! Very crunchy and not doughy at all! And the staff are super friendly, efficient and generous with the ingredients! Highly recommend adding the smoked ham if you like meat and ovalilni mozzarella for the extra cheesiness. And adding the extra arugula and ranch drizzle as the final touch totally gives the pizza a little extra flavor! Great pizza, good ingredients and fast! Awesome eat to stop by and try!

The only thing missing in every McDonald's is a microscope. That's the level of precision, and that's why they are the mother of fast food for 70 years. There are two types of McDonald's Restaurants. One is Clean and One is Messy, and no I'm not referring to its floors. I'm referring to how they make their sandwiches. From step 1 all the way to placing it in the bag. This one I like going to when I do decide to indulge in my very sinful fast food crave. Why? Every time I have ordered, it has been tasty, well put together and the proportionality of the ingredients spot on. So, you don't have a soggy, sticky, greasy, messy burger in a paper bag handed to you. I've tried several McDonald's in my area downtown, but they are outright scary. Too much sauce, greasy bag, 2-day old fries and burnt buns.....Yup. Scary. So, whenever I do crave it and I'm in West Vancouver I'll go here. I mean we all know it's not the best food for you, and you can't even speak of quality when it comes to McDonald's, but actually you can.....in a weird sort of way even McDonald's has varying standards and quality control across different stores managed by varying managements. But the portions are small and the prices high, making this Chipotle tough to recommend. === 2. FOOD The Steak Bowl ($10.50) the deconstructed burrito is tiny but the best value if you're hungry because the portions may be a little larger than the other options. Good with optional guacamole topping ($2.70). Barbacoa Burrito ($10.50): tiny but tasty! Large Chips ($2.50): thin and crispy - these were a delight, especially when dipped in the nice (but expensive) queso blanco ($2.70) and guacamole ($2.70). === 3. I think with this place it's more the attitude, lack of effort and sloppy service that defines this Chipotle. Almost insulting. We ordered two bowls with steak and rice. The serving portions of both bowls were so off that you'd think that one of them was half the serving of the other. There was no one behind us but it was as if we were witnessing a chicken line running out of time. We asked for a cup of water with our meal and they said..."no cup of water, you have to buy a bottle". A restaurant that doesn't give tap water with their order....wow. That, I would have to say is a new species of crap service. The service reminded me of the cooks at the prison lunch-line counter....not that I would know prison lunch...but you know what I mean... The bowl didn't really taste like anything other than sodium. The steak was tough, overcooked, over seasoned, dry and extremely chewy. Interesting. I've gotten an overlying thematic experience with several Chipotles in Vancouver. I wish it were a good one. Yeah, I don't think I'll be going to Chipotles in this beautiful city anymore. #makeyourown.

Love that it doesn't try to imitate the taste or texture of meat. It's simply made of veggies and has its own unique flavor. That is always my preference for any kind of plant based/ veggie burger. Just be made of veggies and taste good without trying to imitate the taste or texture of meat. I brought the Poutine Rooty keychain home for my daughter. She was very happy with it. Truffle Parmesan fries - steak fry size with an excellent coating of truffle oil and Parmesan cheese. Personally, I prefer shoestring, but these were still very good. The Royal Huntsman House made bison patty, royal blue Stilton cheese, Cajun Hickory, smoked wild, boar, bacon, apple chips, butter, lettuce, tomato, 40 Creek barbecue aïoli, charcoal brioche bun, choice of salad, or fries. The patty definitely could be bigger, given the fact that the rest of the ingredients are "big" and losing sight of what should be the featured layer was a miss. Otherwise, what an impressive plating and wonderfully composed flavors. The tangy blue cheese draws out like a blade and the bacon is to die for. Seafood Chowder Creamy style chowder, shellfish, steelhead, Pacific cod, potato, chive, crispy, bacon, served with baguette. This outdid even the Huntsman - a well packed chowder with generous bites (not bits) of all the above - there was more volume of bites to sort out than actually creamy soup. Incredibly integrated flavors and keeps amazingly well. A five star can't miss dish. Given the venue , ambiance, food quality, menu creativity (they even offered a lychee boba martini), I'm rounding this up to an outstanding five star experience. We initially chose to sit inside, but it was hot and the box fan wasn't doing enough to cool down the dining room so we switched to a table on the patio. The tables had umbrellas, but some of them were positioned in a way where we couldn't adjust them. My mom tried her best to move her chair out of the sun so she could get some coverage from the umbrella. I had the Dragonfruit Breeze Mocktail which was really good and very refreshing! My mom had an Iced Latte which she enjoyed. For my entrée, I went with the Fish and chips. Unfortunately I did not care for my meal. The batter wasn't evenly cooked. Some bites were very soft and doughy while other bites were very crunchy. The fish itself was flaky and tasted good, but the batter kind of ruined it for me. I also didn't care for the coleslaw that came with it. I don't know what kind of dressing was in it, but it had a vinegar after taste that I didn't like. Midway through the meal, my stomach started hurting (perhaps from the oil used to fry the fish). Needless to say, I didn't finish my plate. My mom ordered the Mediterranean Bowl and she enjoyed it. I did not try any of it, but it did look good. Our server was polite, but not personable compared to the other tables in his section. He was attentive in the beginning, but towards the end of our lunch he completely disappeared. He struck up conversations with a gentleman from Australia at one table and a couple from the UK at another table. Meanwhile, whenever he came to our table, he barely spoke. At some point he completely disappeared and we had to flag someone down so we could close out. Apparently our server went on break and didn't let us know. It honestly seemed like he didn't let another staff member know because no one covered for him in his absence until we grabbed another employee's attention. Mediocre food and mediocre service. Stanley's is a convenient dining option given it's location in the park, but I would not go out of my way to dine here again.
