LOVED that they are very sensitive to GF and vegan needs, changing gloves and having one person make the pizza for you--sure that makes me the annoying person there but worth it for the best pizza we've had in ages. Super light meal (shhh I know it's not low-cal) but fresh ingredients and you don't hate yourself after you eat the whole things (shhh calories aren't a thing). Also have regular and GF beer so heck yeah Blaze! Tragedy did strike when they accidentally catapulted my pizza onto someone else's at the end of the assembly line, but both the employees and manager were great, whipped up a new one to order in no time and even gave us a coupon for a free pizza next time---Christmas has come early, folks. read more

Waited line for 30 minutes to place an order and another 20 to have it put in cooked and handed to us. Online ordering seemed to be too much for this place to handle. They had a line of customers out the door and people leaving because they were taking so long. It's not just a staffing shortage. I love having fun with my coworkers, but you can't do that when you have a line out of the door and it's actively your priority not helping people who are in the restaurant. Blaze has been my favorite forever. It's been months of this. They need help. Customer service training doesn't help when people don't care about your customers and only online sale. 50 minutes for two 11 inch pizzas. Mine is a bit burnt but I like crispy so it's okay. When I asked for salt the girl just an entire handful so I'm struggling to eat mine. Super disappointed. I recommend chipotle next door if you want fast causal. read more

The one star only comes because I enjoyed my pizza, but the lack of stars is 100% because of the customer service. When prompted to order we were given dirty looks and eyes were rolled when we requested more toppings... something I thought Blaze would not have a problem with seeing as they are a "Build Your Own" restaurant. Lauren was especially rude, pushing us along as if we weren't the customers and were just a nuisance to her life. Ordered food at this location earlier today, to hear what looked like the manager or head of the location, screaming at their workers. They were extremely rude and did not seem to care for their employees. If anyone is trying to apply here I would highly recommend looking somewhere else. Good concept, but very average tasting pizza. In my opinion, they seemed to skimp on the ingredients too. For example, if you ask for onions, they'll scatter a few across your pie, but everything seems to be very measured and minimalist. Oh, and on the day I went they were out of mushrooms and some other key veggie. Discovered thisnplace yesterday thanks to out friends who recommeded it for our luncheon meet. The place is unique and different from other pizza joints where in everything ..starting from tbe dough is freshly prepared in front of you. They have Signature pizzas, and Build your own ( BYO) pizza also. All you need to do is let 'em know your choice and they start customizing the pizza based on your preference and then fire grill it in front of you. We ordered the Green stripe, BBQ chicken and Red vine and we loved it !! The dough being fresh feels very good to the bite and the ingredients arr super fresh so you don't feel your stomach weighed down. All in all ...a very good alternative to the Pizza huts, Papa Johns of the world. This has become my go to pizza joint for sure. read more

The pizza is good, but yesterday the girl who rang up my order ($16-something) didn't give me my receipt, walking away from the register once my card was approved. It seemed fine at the time, but looking at my statement today I found that she added a $5 tip. This place is good if you are looking for a delicious, yet lighter and healthier pizza option for a quick meal. The pizza is fine to average I suppose but the customer service is terrible. I am writing this after numerous encounters with the staff/manager on site. First issue my boyfriend and I had was after ordering pizzas and 2 brownies, we realized they had given us one. The manager (?) (angry blonde ponytail girl with tons of pins on her hat) angrily asked us where our receipt was when I asked for my second brownie. . We had asked for no receipt and accusation ensued. I just said forget it and shared a brownie instead of receiving the brownie I paid for. Second, I was getting a pizza during my lunch break, and when I got it back to work and was eating I had a long blonde hair between toppings of my pizza. I had to throw the whole pizza away and work without food for the remaining 5 hours of my shift. Third happened today when we asked for a pizza with high rise dough. The pizza came out looking disgusting (bulging dough, burnt around the edges where dough was not bulging, toppings had slid off in places). We asked for it to be remade. We waited for 8 minutes and asked if the new pizza was being prepared. The crew scrambled around talking and making dirty looks and THEN began preparing our new pizza. We decided to just leave and get food somewhere else instead of sticking around for the tomfoolery. I ordered 2 pizza last Tuesday 3/31/2021 for lunch. I paid 24.00 1 pizza was burnt to a crisp. The second pizza had a hair in the pizza. The place was carry out only and the boxes were closed till we got home. I reached out to corporate they emailed local branch. They offered me a free cookie. Went into blaze with my husband today. We were famished. It was around 5 pm today. The manager that greeted me was very kind to us and he explained how everything worked, since it was the first time we went there! And it won't be the last that's for sure! Had a yummy lunch at Blaze Pizza with my co-workers. We went around 1pm and it was super crowded with hardly any place to sit. Luckily we were able to find a spot soon after getting our order. I ordered the create your own pizza and it was very good. Also a good value for the size that you get. I noticed serval desserts available for purchase as well such as s'mores and brownies. I didn't try any, but they looked delicious. I will certainly be back at some point for lunch. read more

Waited in line for 25 minutes with staff walking around not actually working the line to move pizzas through. Frustrated with no response in the line and just walked out after 5 more minutes and no one was working any ingredient sections. Our first visit was great and had a great experience. Customer service and the "blaze" experience were definitely missing. Updated July 12, 2016: I received a great reply from one of the store managers about this experience and did a great job in discussing the feedback and opportunities to improve. Pizza is great but if you have been to other Blaze's you realize this one is Super Slow (opposite of Blaze concept) and Super Dirty. Been there a dozen times. When it's managed by a bunch of college students who have no training in customer service, this is what you get. When they first opened it was a nightmare. They ran out of take out boxes as they weren't making them fast enough. Bathrooms were filthy. One time they ran out of cups and the water filter was broken. There is always at least a 15-20 min wait for your pizza at the oven even when there's no line to order your pizza. Once I tried to tell the gal at the head of the line that I wanted to make sure there wasn't something on my pizza and she informed me to tell the pizza maker down the line. The other time I got yelled at by the pizza maker to tell the gal at the front of the line if I didn't want something on my pizza. The last time I went, the oven guy left it for too long and burned it around the edges. The kid who boxes it up told me that it's supposed to be crispy while he was Trying to cut the black edges off with the pizza slicer.... I agree with all the other Neg comments here about mismanagement and staffing. Even though I like their pizza, my most recent visit to the Normal store will be my last. I'll stick to the stores in Chicago, where they have the concept and customer service down pat. read more

Very disappointing! I ordered a build your own (chicken, bacon, pineapple) that was so carelessly made that when finished I could see no cheese and it strongly resembled a tomato pie that someone had a physical altercation with. My girlfriends high rise simple (cheese and cheese) was decent, but tasted like a slightly more chewy Jacks (frozen) pizza. I'm very confident that the experience would've been positive if the employees made my pizza with as much attention as they would make their own. However, the service was reasonably fast considering the line, and the blood orange lemonade is really good. read more

Thirds a charm. It's also the last time I will attempt to order a pizza from here. Visit #1. FANTASTIC. We are from out of town and didn't realize that we needed to order online, but we were helped through the process by a lovely, young female employee. Fast, hot and truly delicious wood fired pizza. Visit #2. Difficulties ordering online. But we found a number to call and order via phone. Arrived at the location only to be told the order had not been submitted yet and the employees on location could not look up the order (what?). So we wait and wait. We call back and are told that it appears the order just went through. It's been about 15 minutes since the order was placed. But that's ok. These things happen. It's worth the wait, right? VISIT #3. Online ordering went pretty darn good. Order in at 7:04 pm. Per email the order will be ready at 7:25. Arrive at 7:25. Neither of the 2 employees acknowledge me. Ok. So, maybe the are "in the zone". At 7:37 and no good I approach the counter and wait. And wait. And wait. No one acknowledges me. I have to ask one guy to come to the counter. He "thinks he already made the order". Then he "doesn't remember getting the order". He offers no solution. I showed him the order confirmation and email. He says he will make the food with about as much enthusiasm as a flame retardant tester in a flame thrower manufacturing plant. It will be ready in 20 minutes. I return exactly 20 minutes later. The pizza has already begun to cool. How is that even possible? I will not be back. I will volunteer to be a flame retardant tester at the flame thrower manufacturer before I go back! They have, hands down, the worst customer service! read more

I really liked the cheese pizza but I am not happy with how the workers made me feel recently when I ordered a pizza. They were visibly annoyed I was asking questions and rolled their eyes. Unfortunately our first visit was not initially positive. After waiting in line for about 15 minutes on a busy Saturday night, I ordered my custom made pizza. You wait about 10 more minutes for your pizza to be cooked in their pizza oven. Unfortunately, my pizza came out with the crust burnt black, and it was served to me that way. So much for quality control. I brought the issue to the attention of the Manager, who was appropriately apologetic. My pizza was remade with better results. The pizza itself was moderately good. The Manger did try to make amends by offering free desert and a discount coupon, which was appreciated. Perhaps we'll try again on a Tuesday night when it's less chaotic and they can focus on quality. read more

You need 2 people on the pizza oven, 1 cashier, 2 people putting toppings on, 1 person taking orders, 1 person making dough, 1-2 cutting pies, 1-2 people in back prepping dough and toppings, 1 person cleaning dining room and a manager who is out present on the floor. I was skeptical at first because it is a chain restaurant. However, this pizza was one of the best that I have had in a while, especially if you like thin crust. I chose to build my own and the flavor was spot on. Ingredients are fresh and satisfying. I added garlic and it was not over powering and the seasoning (oregano & sea salt) was good also. This place is a do over time and time again and very delicious. The lemonade tasted homemade and is excellent as well. There were many option and I love the fact that there were many difference sauces and the make your own is great but the only down side of it was when they go to cook your pie, its can be a bit burnt from the fire wood oven. Finally a pizza with gourmet taste at inexpensive price! We are lucky we live close by and order online and it's fired up when we get there so it's always fresh... no skimping on toppings either and family loves cause we each get our favorite toppings and then have leftovers!!! We never ate pizza anymore because we were tired of being disappointed with doughy or ragu tasting sauces.. blaze sauce is not pasted, tangy or sour like others but is fresh tasting Italian tomato with thin crust that is amazingly good... we finally eat pizza again and endless toppings keeps this house happy!!!!
