I was staying near Dumbo for a wedding and needed a quick hit in the early morning after a red eye. Blank Street Coffee was one of the highly reviewed spots in the area (and for good reason). While this shop was smaller with limited indoor seating areas, it was well serviced by a friendly staff who was quick to provide recommendations. I didn't feel like going too adventurous, but heard that their cherry glaze is one of the seasonal highlights. I opted for their iced pistachio espresso, which had a subtle hit of pistachio that blended well with the coffee. I finally got to try Blank Street Coffee and I totally get the hype now. This was my first time visiting because there aren't any locations in Miami yet, but a couple of my coworkers insisted that while I was in NY I had to stop by and I'm so glad I listened. I went in with high expectations since there's been such a buzz around the brand, and honestly... it delivered. I ordered the Blondie Matcha and it was so good smooth, slightly sweet, and just really well balanced. My best friend tried mine and immediately went back to order her own because it was just that good. She also grabbed an olive oil pastry, which was super moist and delicious definitely worth adding on. Later, my cousin met up with us and got the Strawberry Shortcake Matcha, and that one was also a hit. Creamy, flavorful, and not overly sweet. Overall, we were all really happy with our choices. The drinks lived up to the hype, and now I really need Miami to get a location ASAP. I'd 100% go back. read more

I love Blank Street when it comes to a sweet treat drink. They have multiple locations across Manhattan and Brooklyn, but their operation times differ. This location is spacious, bright, and has spots for working! I love their matcha drinks here and get them as the occasional sweet treat. I was in Brooklyn for the day and decided to grab some matcha. I purchased the blueberry matcha but the other options also sounded so good. The matcha was good this one said it had blueberry and ube but I was underwhelmed when I tasted it. I asked for more sweetener as well and did not really taste the blueberry/ube. My friend however loved her pistachio coffee. The location was simple and straight to the point great if you're just doing a quick drop in. A more spacious Blank Street right by Jay St. Metrotech! It's tucked away in the Brooklyn Commons, which is a nice mini park area. There's more seating here than in a typical Blank Street, but still relatively sparse and looks like it would fill quickly. Service was quick. I got the matcha mint chip this round, but it was not very good. The mint was not noticeable and the drink instead tasted a bit medicinal. read more

This was my first time trying blank street and definitely wasn't the last! This place is so busy in the mornings and it's small on the inside so there's not a lot of room to stand or sit. All of the baristas were really nice! I got the iced strawberries and cream latte with whole milk. It was good, but there wasn't a strong strawberry taste. Next time I'll get it with almond or oat milk. I also tried the blueberry matcha, white chocolate matcha, and cherry cold brew. All of the drinks were really good! So I heard about all the hoop la surrounding the Strawberry Shortcake Macha so I wanted to see or should I say taste what it is about. So like I said I ordered the Strawberry Shortcake Macha and I was told it is make with Oatmilk which I don't mind. Also my counter part on the other side of NYC ordered the same thing and see to be having a not so good experience with the same drink. Now this is my first tasting of this drink. My other half had a better experience the first time, this time not so much. There was nothing extra ordinary about the drink. It was just plain. I don't have a frame of reference to compare it to. It's hard to compare that way but I was not wowed. I will try the drink from another Blankstreet Coffee to see if there is a difference but was of now. Im not wowed. The selection of coffee/pastries at Blank Street is actually pretty good, I think the drinks are creative and they are good quality. The day dream latte is very good, I came to this location a few times just for that before heading to work. While the quality of product is actually good in my opinion, and service has been nice overall, I had a really uncomfortable experience last time I visited. It was 1/22 or 1/21 around 10am - the barista kept calling the name of a guest for their drink and the guest didn't initially hear it. Once the barista caught the guest's attention, the guest was still trying to figure out if her name was being called. The barista asked "is this your name?" And then guest instead of answering goes up to the counter to check. When she went up to get her drink, the barista behind the counter goes (verbatim): "What is it now, you can't talk??" She said this loud enough, and rude enough, for EVERYONE to hear. Even her co-workers were surprised and then burst into awkward laughter. I regret not saying anything before leaving, but what an uncomfortable thing to do! The poor girl just said "I'm sorry, I was handling something", she looked so uncomfortable. I tried a lot of different coffee shops while I was in New York. Blank Street was one of them. Their shop happened to be along my walking route in the MetroTech area in Brooklyn. I entered a well-lit but somewhat plain space where there were two baristas - one making coffee and the other joking about a previous customer and their Dad jokes. I get it, you don't think they're funny. I'm a Dad too but don't mind me, I'm just here for a cup of something hot. I'll refrain from the jokes. Eventually they took my order, a pretty basic latte. The coffee-making barista was pretty much constantly busy while the other went on about Dad jokes and other irritations. Several customers came, grabbed coffee, and went (I assume they'd ordered via an app). After a few minutes I got my cup and went back out into the light rain - nothing really invited me to stay in the shop at that point. The coffee itself was fine. I've had worse, and I've had better (just the day before actually) but it did the job and got me on with the rest of my day. Even though Blank Street was convenient on my morning walks, I never went back for the rest of my trip. There's a lot of great coffee to be had while visiting the Brooklyn area. Blank Street was possibly the least memorable and least impressive of the places I went during my time there. But it was...fine. read more

Some friends and I stopped by the Blank Street Coffee truck on our way to Brooklyn Flea this weekend. There are some tables with umbrellas scattered around the lot that the truck is on. This location is nice for a pitstop or a grab and go on your way to a destination. I had a "big" latte [$4] and a slice of the Hot Honey Cornflake Loaf [$4.50]. The loaf was truly out of this world, it was super moist. Let me also not forget to mention that it packed a spicy punch surprisingly at the back of your mouth and the cornflakes were slightly sweet.
