Went in for a new carb for an older trimmer. Danny was working and asked me what was going on with the trimmer. Described the issue and he suggested another solution, as sometimes a clogged exhaust mesh can imitate a carb problem. He ordered up the carb (just in case) but then Danny took the time to bring up the parts diagram and pointed out the location of the mesh screen and how to properly clean it. Went home and did what Danny suggested and the trimmer started on the first pull! Awesome service for a DIY'er. Was no problem calling back and cancelling the carb order. It took a while as there were many other people having generators worked on before me, but it was done within the time frame that they predicted upfront. Generator is working fine now. Price was reasonable. People were friendly! I would use them again. read more

I took my Honda EU2000i home generator to Bland's Lawn & Garden because it was very hard to start after every fuel refill during the five days that I used it during storm Beryl. Against my better judgement I paid them the unjustified nonrefundable payment of $128.55 that they demanded. Nine days later they called and said that the necessary repairs had been completed. I paid them an additional $154.73 that they charged me for a total invoice amount of $283.28. When I got home I discovered that my generator was still hard to start with no improvement at all. I returned to Bland's and left the generator the second time for them to fix. When I got home with it the second time it was still no better. When I called them and told them that the hard-to-start problem was no better at all they said it was fixed. But it was not fixed and they refused to refund any of the $283.28 that I paid them for repairs that they did not successfully complete. read more

Called ahead of time to inquire regarding lawnmower repair. Explained my situation approx 10 minutes or so. You would think "can't get to the repair for two weeks and it's gonna cost over $50 to check". So I strapped the lawnmower in my truck and head there. I like using local small businesses however Blands lawn & Garden is not worth it! They charged $400 to replace a carburetor, a spark plug and an oil change on my portable generator. When I asked for a breakdown and perhaps I would only get the Carb replaced they said it would be $400 for the carburetor. Meaning they were getting $400 from me no matter what, since I had to put down a $130 deposit when I dropped it off they had me over a barrel. Sometimes I don't mind paying a premium for good service well not at Blands, the inside group was rude and dishonest during the whole process. The only reason I even downloaded this app is because I noticed when I searched the Internet I saw one star ratings for this company, and I don't buy it. These guys are nice, helpful, and have tons of cool products. They got my equipment repaired quickly when I told them I had a job emergency. They went out of their way. The young man up front even loaded the pressure washer in my truck before I was out of the store. What a great team and a cool store! DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE! Bland's is AWESOME! Called and the guy said $75 per hr plus parts between 15 - 25. The generac generator was relatively new and hardly used by local church. 2 per year. We both suspected the fuel that was left in the tank. I added a $50 buffer in my head. I had a decent call with front desk compared to other certified generac seevice shop so I decided to go with this company. Took the generator in and the guy attempted to start it but broke the cord. I had attempted this before without any issue that extreme. He admitted it was his fault and he will fix it. Went into shop and was willing to pay maybe $50 to $75 down but was told it is $101.50 for generators fir estimate or will go to repairs. Instantly turned off. Why not mentioned this on the phone and why so high? Because I had estimated $100 - $130 for repairs, I figure I am already there and it's for local church group. We budgeted that amount for repair so fine. Got a call recently with a chumped up bill of $220. It is a scam or I am paying for a ton of overhead. It do feel like a way to get u in then trick u to take it or looose your $102.50 deposit. That's a rip off and a con. The cost of a new generac generator for that power is $399. Regret this decision and now I will need to donate the downpayment to my local church group so they don't feel the pinch to my bad selection. #avoid read more

Don't do it, they don't stand behind their work at all. Try to upsell all the time. be sure you check and see if they did what they said they were going to do. Management hides in back room while clerks handle the complaints, very poor customer service!! read more

I took my push mower in for a spring service: Blade Sharpening, oil change, spark plug, air filter, etc. The technician called to tell me that he had trouble starting the mower and that my engine was surging, caused by debris in my fuel tank and I needed to replace the carburetor. I was a bit shocked, considering I started it before taking it in and after sitting in my garage for months, it started on the second pull. The repairs and servicing cost almost as much as a new mower, so I told them I would pick it up. They graciously offered to "junk" it for me, but I declined. I picked it up on Saturday and took the carburetor apart myself. It was perfectly clean. I found no debris, no varnish, and no blocked jets. I drained the fuel tank using the fuel supply line and looked inside the tank to find that there was no debris in the tank. I put it back together and the surge was still there. the surge went away after I changed the air filter. I called on Monday to ask Bland's to refund the $40 deposit that I paid. They would not give an inch. They explained away the clean carburetor saying the technician took the bowl off and cleaned it out. They had no explanation for the clean gas tank. They stood by their diagnosis and refused to refund my money. Steer Clear of Blands. A novice armed with you tube can do better work himself. read more

Do not use them unless you want to pay high prices and wait FOREVER AND EVER to get your lawn equipment back. If you are a business and need your mower or other equipment back so you can work, expect at least two to three weeks before you can get it back and get yourself back to work again. They will lie and tell you 5 days - DO NOT BELIEVE THEM. This comes from a person who believed them and got sucked twice. There will never be a third time! read more

They wanted to charge $79 for a battery and then $132 labor to install it on my push lawnmower. Replacing the battery on this mower is about as hard as replacing batteries in a flashlight. Last time using these guys. read more
