I'm a novice to anything related to landscaping so I needed some advice on what quantity I needed. I came with a diagram of the dry creek I was installing with dimensions. I showed one of the employees inside and before I could even finish explaining the diagram in full she said I needed 2.5 yards. I thought she was a little quick with that math, but she works there so I figured she was just an expert by now. I decided I would get 1.5 yards of one gravel and 1 yard of another and she explained the delivery process and costs. Great, sounds like we're good to go, but then she told me I could just go home and call in and they could put the order through? I said no, I would rather just do it now. I'm really not sure why she wanted me to leave and call in. It was the middle of the day, so not close to closing or something. We put the order through. My delivery came as scheduled and the driver was very professional. The problem is I have way, WAY too many rocks! So many rocks that once I finished my project I had barely made a dent in the massive pile. Like I said, I'm a total novice so when the employee told me with confidence that I needed 2.5 yards I didn't question her. I ended up building an entire gravel walkway to use up some of these rocks and I STILL have a massive pile of rocks that I'm trying to give away at this point. (If anyone wants free rocks, let me know! Lol) I went a second time to get some boulders and the employee who helped me was very patient and helpful. I'm not that mad about having way too many rocks, it's better than not having enough! I still recommend Whittlesey, they have a great selection. Just do your own math for what you need before you go because they are used to dealing with contractors and professionals who know that already.

They do have a decent spread and selection- from annuals/perrenials to vegetables/spices to bushes to succulents to trees- but not in large volumes, so if you're looking for bulk, this isn't the right place to go. The owners both greeted us and invited us to "explore and enjoy" the grounds and to let them know if we had any questions or needed any help. There are a couple four-wheeled carts around to help you shop. The indoor section features wall art and other unique finds/gifts. Currently you don't need a mask to enjoy the outdoor areas, but you are asked to mask up for inside. =)

The manufacturer did not make it any longer, but I came across Stars and Stripes because their website indicated they still carried what I sought. I put in my order, and waited. And waited. And waited. Eventually I reached out, and they said that it should be there soon. So I waited. And waited. I reached out again. Another promise to try and get a shipping confirmation number. I eventually asked for a refund, which they did honor. I was refunded on my credit card the next day. Curiously, they said that it was too late to cancel the order, so they said I should expect to eventually receive my light, which I could keep (though, that was several weeks ago, and it hasn't come yet, so I suspect they just didn't know). I debated about whether to leave 1, 2, or 3 stars. On the plus side, they responded quickly to my follow-up inquiries, and they did issue me a refund when I eventually demanded it. On the negative side, they did not send me any proactive updates on the order, and of course, I never got what I wanted. Looking back, I suspect that this business is legit, but is just a drop shipper, placing orders from somewhere upstream perhaps in Asia. It may work out some of the time, but if you can get what you want via Amazon or whatever, that is probably preferable.
