I would think that employees would acknowledge paying customers first over non paying "customers". I tried to be patient and waited at the pos for someone to take my order. I couldn't see anyone but could hear that some chatter was happening in the back. She finally comes out and I ask if there is any drip coffee ready. With a snarky tone as if I'm stupid she responds "um, yeah.." and then turns to walk back towards the back. The coffee pots were not in a normal place under the brewing machine so I thought it was a not so stupid question. As she turns around I ask "are you open?" . (Yes I'm inside, and the neon OPEN sign is on, but I'm getting no service and half the lights are out, so I'm a little confused. I'll leave if you aren't ready to serve but either say that or take my order. Neither is happening and she walks away without saying anything except, "yeah". but I see what's happening. A vendor is making their morning delivery and she is going back to continue her chat with them and then starts making them free drinks in front of me as I (a paying customer) continues to stand at the cashier and bite my tongue. Finally she finishes their 2 drinks and she comes to me and tries to be friendly by asking how I'm doing, Instead of asking me what i would like to order. Im still trying to not be rude and simply state "it could be better" to that she scoffs. Yeah im pissed off by then, but I just give her my order finally, so I can get out of there. As I get out of line I realize there is now a line of people behind me that extends to the door. Came here with my bf to start our day trip, and at 11am, the store was out of almost every pastry and deli item that is alleged to be offered on the menu. First impressions of this coffee shoppe is the warmth it brings in the cool morning. Walking in you are greeted with the smell of fresh baked goods and espresso. I ordered a lavender latter (Medium 16oz) and my wife ordered the 'mellow man' which is toasted marshmallow, hazelnut and vanilla. The coffee was smooth and very rich in flavor. Great way to start the day or place to go to study. Although the latte was good, I wish they made their own syrups for their drinks. I think that would take this place to the next level. The service was good, the female who took our order was informative, kind and gave great recommendations. If this place is always as busy as it was today, I was suggest getting a bigger espresso machine to be more efficient with their product. Really cute place and a great location. Also, very clean. I've been twice now, both times I received incredibly slow service. The first time was a weekday and there were only two people in line, including me. My drink took quite some time, then wasn't made as I requested. I just drank it as I didn't have time for a do over. The next time was yesterday, after Coffee & Cars. We were a party of 4 and There were only two people ahead of us and no one behind us when we got in line. There was a young man taking orders. First, he gave us the wrong pastry, then argued with me telling me that I ordered something else. There were 4 people in our party that all heard what I said. In his defense, it was loud in there, but maybe he should repeat the order back? Two of us went outside while my husband waited for 2 Frappes and a Chai tea latte. I was outside thinking wow, this is taking forever. My husband tells me he was standing in there waiting as others who came in and ordered after are getting their orders. Finally, he gets his Chai, which is lukewarm, but he doesn't want to say anything because it will take forever. Then he continues to wait for 2 frappes for our friends. After some time they put up 2 caramel lattes (that is not what was ordered). My husband told them he thought that they made a mistake, that they were supposed to be 2 caramel frappes. Your employees just shrugged him off and said "no, they are for someone else. They will come get them". So my husband continues to wait about 3 minutes before asking again where our frappes were. Now, a girl working there gives him an attitude and goes and makes the two frappes. At the same time there is a dark haired girl eating behind the counter. I'm pretty sure this is against health codes. Maybe she should go hide in the back and eat if she is on a break. All this took about 20 minutes. My husband said that although it's frustrating when mistakes are made and things take too long, we know it happens. We all make mistakes. What is most unacceptable is how rude they were. They did not care and were completely unapologetic. What's crazy is that at this establishment, as you do at so many others, you tip ahead of your service. We had already tipped $5, but received horrible service. By the way, by the time they got the frappes, I was done with my hot tea and pastry, and my husband was done with his lukewarm Chai. read more

I am a bit miffed that they default the tip to high amounts (like how much do the servers actually get??) and they "fool" you by cutting the sausages in half on the sausage kolache's making you think there's more in there than appearances. Amazing little cafe! We selected this place as the start to our girls day trip and no regrets!! The coffee was on point. I had a bourbon brew, yes you read that right, bourbon and that's definitely what you taste beginning to end. I purchased an orange cranberry muffin that was delicious. You could taste each component of yumminess. I'd be remiss if I didn't share other items on their menu. They offer espressos, cortada, regular coffee, specialty, and cold brews. And, all of their baked goods are made from scratch! The staff was not only attentive, made great recommendations, and welcomed every person that walked in, more impressive is that it was genuine. It's my go to for remote working when I just need to get out of the house plus the coffee is really good. The baristas are super welcoming and quick to make your order. The shop has super laid back vibes unlike your typical shop which can sometimes feel like they're rushing you out. For example, when there's only one barista and pretty slow when someone else walks up to order, they finish your drink before taking the next. Yes, that means sometimes I'm the person waiting to place my order, but it's a great reminder to slow down. So basically your typical small town coffee shop! I've seen multiple businesses here at this location growing up. it used to be Maoi Waoi, then it was coffee shop, then it finally became the Blanco Brew. This place is in better hands than it's ever been. Coffee's good. Workers are chill. I can relax and do some stuff here like meet up with old friends or do some studying for college. The place is clean and kept up. I've been coming for a couple of years now, and they do a neat point card where you can get a discount on your 10th cup, which is a nice incentive for keeping up with doing business with them. If you're in town to meet up folks, or to find a casual spot to study, work, etc. I recommend this place. It definitely competes pretty well against other coffee spots. read more

I had a great experience at Blanco Brew! I don't make it out to Wimberly often and needed a spot I could whip out my laptop and take a quick work meeting. The WiFi was strong, coffee even stronger and the food was next level! My wife and I split the pizza panini and the chicken salad sandwich (chicken salad sandwich being our fav for sure). To drink I had the barrel aged cold brew . The barista explained the barrel aging process to us, using local whiskey barrels. Definitely worth a shot when taking in Wimberly. Stopped by here on the way to devil's backbone on a whim, and we're so glad we did! The staff was super friendly. I ordered an iced white mocha which was so good and not overpoweringly sweet. My boyfriend and I both ordered blueberry cheese danishes which were amazing! They make everything in house including the dough and you can definitely tell- it was the best pastry I've had in a while. Edited since the business felt the need to reply in a sarcastic manner. I ordered a PLAIN macchiato but received a caramel macchiato from the barista. Instead of wasting the coffee I chose to go ahead and drink it and there wasn't anything wrong with it until the bottom where the syrup settled. The point of reviews is to give honest feedback but if you can't take constructive criticism then maybe you shouldn't be the one replying to customers reviews. We bought 2 coffee's for $15 that is a bit pricey, but again I still left a solid good review before you felt the need to reply in a satirical fashion. If you want cheaper better coffee and baristas who actually make your drink as ordered AND ask you what you like to make suggestions I recommend you go two blocks down and visit Cypress Creek Coffee :) Cute coffee place but they are a bit pricey. Starbucks prices basically but we wanted to try it out so we went ahead and ordered. Coffee was fine until we got down to the last few drinks then we both threw them out because all the syrup made it too sweet. If you're staying in the area and don't have a coffee machine or just don't want to make your own its worth a trip, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here but it serves its purpose if you're in the area already. read more
