2 stars for the ambience of igloo dining-warm and inviting. 0 stars for the food and service. Very expensive "bar" food. 25 dollars for a pretzel with mediocre cheese sauce???? Service was sparodic and had to ask for drinks and such more than once, and server frequently forgot items- at one point had to go back inside for a forgotten soft drinks for one of the children in our group. One appetizer forgotten completely. No restrooms available for dinner guests. One unisex bathroom in bar area but in a very filthy condition-so, to us, unavailable. Believe this to be a health dept violation where food and drinks are served. All in all, will never be back or recommend. I'm sure there are other igloo ding we can find, with better food and service! read more

The u-pick here is just non existent. They also refused to sell me warm donuts and insisted I buy the ones that were sitting on the shelf for who knows how long. read more

The fish & chips were excellent, and so was the cider. Great service. Fish was lightly breaded with plenty of fish. The apple burger was tasty. Fries weren't perfectly cooked and made with a twist. Will definitely come back again. read more

Great place so much to do, my family comes every year. Thanks Blake's!we will be back again.

Had a great visit. Friendly staff, great food. Best of all dog friendly. If your not into the sweet wines, or cider their beer was very good. Great options for all types of pallets. read more

Great food, great ambiance, and great customer service. I would recommend this place to anyone! a fun lunch or dinner out.

Absolutely amazing! Friendly staff, beautiful atmosphere and delicious food! Highly recommend this establishment!

Such an awesome place to go! We had heard of Blake's Backyard for a while, but had never tried it until a couple of months ago. We loved it! The food is great and a good price, drinks are always amazing and the staff is super helpful and kind! 100% recommend this place for a nice afternoon out. read more

Great place for some hard cider and food. We visited for the Tropicolada hard cider release and we're not disappointed. The cider, food, and service were all excellent. Highly recommended and will be back! read more

This place is awesome. Their Monday burger/brew special is the best. So enjoyable!

Did U-Pick raspberries here. It was $3 for a quart. It was a lot of fun, no one else was out there. We saw tons of strawberry plants too. A few strawberries were still growing, even though it was out of season. Inside they have fruits and veggies for sale, there's even a greenhouse. Neat place, can't wait to go back. read more

Awesome service during a midday lunch visit, love the cider options and great menu with something for everyone. Got the burger and it's was the perfect lunch meal. Will be back to try more! read more

Horrible service, don't waste your time. Party of 7 came in on Friday at 7:15 for all you can eat fish and other items. We stood there until 8:15 waiting while several smaller tables that could have been pushed together were open. The people at the limited larger table seating sat waiting for bills. Finally, the manager came up and said he would move tables together for us but said the kitchen closes at 8:30 and they only had 5 pieces of fish left. They said they couldn't make more or keep the kitchen open longer. We left and will never come back. Not the kind of place you go for all you can eat fish, we watched as we were waiting, and several people were noticeably upset, waiting a long time for refills. Horrible experience. read more

Their hours are not as advertised. Locked the doors an hour before 8. Left all our merchandise outside.

I enjoyed the Almont location- something different since we always go to Armada. The food was good but the Armada menu is larger.

Always my go-to place in fall for my beloved Northern Spy apples. If you haven't made a pie with a Spy...you're doing it wrong. Not a long drive from "the city" and they have lots of yummy jarred things to buy. And a bakery! You can't go wrong! read more

It's Blakes. How do you not Love it! Fresh picked fruits and veggies, either picked for you or waiting for you to venture out into the field to picked yourself. Fresh made jams, jellies, relish, pies and a whole cooler filled with items I didn't even make it to. But what do we really all come for? The cider and donuts- yes! Ice cold fresh pressed cider no preservatives added and the donuts that take us all back to our childhood. The simplicity of a plain donut that even kids like, the comically messy powdered donuts and the sugary sweet cinnamon. Wash it all down with a white styrofoam cup of ice cold apple cider. Fall time, winter time, or even in 86* heat cider and donuts are a must when you visit any Blakes. The strawberries here over the weekend were like little red jewels of awesomeness. When we got out of our truck the sweet smell slapped you right in the face. Reminded me of when my mom would can jam in the fall so we would have a basement cellar full of jam for the winter. The smell while she spent all day cooking filled our house with so much sweetness and summer. It was THE best smell ever! The strawberries were plump, so juicy and just left you with a smile on your face as we eagerly consumed just as many as we bought. No really, none of us ate lunch the day we picked. My kids and I easily ate nearly our weight in berries. So good! They were only $1.79 a pound too, cheaper than the batch I picked 2 weeks earlier out at the other location. We love Blakes. And will continue to visit and support this awesome farm! read more

Dinner was just alright. Plastic ware to eat with was cheap for the prices of the meal. Atmosphere was very loud. Disappointed in the service and quality of the food. I won't be going back which is sad due to it being so close to home. Not worth the price we paid for the meal. read more

Great local place. Services has always been great. Food is good as well. Keeping my fingers crossed that they bring back their charcuterie board this location had last year. We prefer this Blakes location over the tasting room location. read more

We went to Blakes a few weeks back with another couple. The atmosphere is great very opened and cheerful, and the food was delicious. We had a couple of burgers, the Blakes apple salad and my friend ordered the soup. Everyone loved their meal.. delicious! Also our waitress was fantastic. She was very attentive. We were undecided on what flavor cider to order and she gave us a couple samples to taste before we ordered. The only problem was they have plastic silverware, sorry but my friend that got the soup had a tiny little plastic spoon trying to get a mouth full of soup was difficult. My husband ordered the salad with chicken. Cutting up the chicken with a plastic fork and knife was not good. So I'm hoping they can get regular silverware. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend Blakes in ALMONT you won't be disappointed!! read more

Beautiful venue, the food was great (try the giant pretzel!) The drinks are great and I would recommend it. I would have given 5 stars, but the bathroom situation is ridiculous. The main bathrooms were closed, so they have a trailer with 3 stalls in it. The stalls are way too small and if you happen to weigh more than 100 lbs you are going to have an issue. To me that ruined the experience. Other than that it's a great place. We heard an acoustic duo and they were great!! (Mitch and Robby). read more

Went here for a graduation party, the venue is nice very casual and clean, the worker were pleasant. But the food was horrible some kind of potato mixed with broccoli concoction that was tasteless, the hot dogs were ok but the buns were previously frozen and thick and instantly fell apart, the hamburgers were grey looking and tasteless, these people don't know anything about catering a party. I feel bad for the people who wasted good money for this. Would never book this place for a party and not recommend either. read more

I really like this place! It had a cool vibe, very laid back and easy going. Super family friendly. Friendly staff, great drinks, lots of seating, fantastic atmosphere and even LIVE music. Who could ask for anything more!? It's my new favorite place, for real! Even the marketplace had a variety of fruits and vegetables to buy and everything was so nice and neatly organized and priced fairly. read more

Went there last night to hear our friends duo play and decided we would grab a bite to eat and drink. The food was ridiculously overpriced for what we got. My daughter and I each had one of their $12 salads. Wouldn't have minded paying that much but for about 3 ounces of lettuce and barely any other toppings it just wasn't worth it! A 16 oz. Cup of hard cider being $7 we decided we wouldn't bother returning or recommending this place to anyone. read more

We stopped to use the bathroom. Ended up buying pie, donuts and a cookie. Been to the orchard before but didn't even know this was here. The pie was kind of bland for how expensive it was read more

i had visited blake's backyard once before in the fall & absolutely loved the atmosphere & friendly staff which was why i was excited to return this spring to have dinner & drinks in the tap house. unfortunately this experience was far from the same. our group was understanding about waiting close to 15 minutes to be seated (we arrived at 8pm sat around 8:15pm) & having to get our own menus, however our waitress was extremely unattentative and made us feel unwelcome throughout our visit. we enjoyed the live music & were surprised to receive our check shortly after ordering our first cider & appetizers. around 9:40pm while finishing our ciders we began to feel uncomfortable as the staff turned off the lights & shut off the music. overall it was a very awkward & rude experience as the tap house was suppose to be open for another 20 minutes & we would of loved to have finished our drinks & appetizers. thanks for the great experience ashley! read more
