Thought I would update my review, went into the Adelphi hotel today for a bite to eat, I got…read morechicken goujons and chips with garlic dip. The waiters are attentive and friendly. The dining room is cosy and modern with a flat screen tv displaying a constant video of a fish tank which is quite relaxing. My meal came the chips were better than last time the chicken goujons were ok but I wasn't keen on them, the garlic dip was nice but the crunchy pieces of garlic were a bit much, the side salad was nice but they didn't put any dressing at all on it so it was a bit bland. Nice hotel , nice decor, prices are reasonable. Steps entrance to front or ramp entrance to the side. The food has improved a bit from last time but I wouldn't be in a rush to get something to eat in the Adelphi, good place for a quick drink though, bottles of wine from £9. Parking on street. Free WiFi in hotel.

I wrote in our reservation notes the night before asking if we could check in a little early to get ready for our wedding and within an hour of submitting, their staff called and told us they would be more than willing to help out! We arrived to this adorable nestled hotel and checked in with ease. The moment we got to our room, I honestly shed tears of joy. Not only was the view of the coast breathtaking, but the incredible staff here had complimentary champagne waiting for us! We had an amazing wedding day and headed back to the Adelphi to inquire about fun spots to visit in town. They directed us to the Springhill pub down the street where we were greeted by an amazing group of soon to be new friends and had pint after pint in celebration. The next morning we headed down to breakfast and were so pleasantly surprised at how accommodating the staff was to our dietary needs! This was the first place on our entire trip that was able to give us the full Irish breakfast catered to our vegan diets. They even went so far as to put together a breakfast in bed tray for us to take up and snack on while we packed up. I cannot rave enough about this perfect hotel and hope anyone that reads this review heads up to Portrush to check it out. We will definitely be coming back every year to celebrate and will be sure to stay at the Adelphi! Thank you all again for your amazing hospitality!!

Don't worry if you have lots of luggage - if you can make it down the first short hall to the LIFT (elevator) your heavy luggage is not problem! Be warned though, the elevator is small, the door closes very quickly behind you, and unlike elevators in the States, it does not optically sense the presence of a lagging leg or arm and keeps closing until you physically hit it to stop it. Our room was spacious, with a medium to large TV, a mini fridge, a tea/coffee set (including Aero brand hot chocolate packets - a nice touch), and a very handy multi plug surge protector. We had a room without a "sea view" which overlooked an alley and the back of adjacent houses, but this was no big deal to us. The breakfast was ample, delicious, and served by a very friendly hostess who chatted us up when we asked her for her opinion on local activities, etc. She was very kind and approachable, and the food was excellent. Special note - We accidentally left behind a child's violin when we left Port Rush. I arranged for a courier service to pick it up and deliver it to our next destination in Dublin, which they did. But the courier service picks up the items "as is" and does not put them in shipping boxes. When the violin arrived, I discovered the Avarest folks had not only printed out and affixed the shipping label I faxed to them, but went to the trouble of expertly wrapping the violin in cardboard and bubble wrap to avoid any damage. They went the extra mile, we got a good night sleep, and this B&B is highly recommended. Why not stay at a place run by really good people?
