We came to the Causeway Hotel because we had just finished the Giants Causeway which is a must see…read moreif you're on the north coast of Ireland. Although I did find the Carrick -a-rede rope bridge and Dunluce Castle slightly more interesting The causeway is a nice stop for a midday meal particularly because they allow you to use your parking pass for a rebate on the restaurant bill. Just remember to bring your stub in. Ireland is not really known I think for its iced coffee drinks so probably steer clear of ordering an Iced latte. Not horrible, but not great. The food however, was pretty tasty. We got the Carmelized onion and goat cheese tart And the Pan seared Rockville farm chicken. Both were done well, and the price is paid. If you can eat in the back of the restaurant, it probably has slightly more character as the front has windows only looking out to the parking lot. Parking is free for guest of the hotel. Otherwise you pay 10 pounds.

It's "only" a 3-star, but it's really a lovely hotel. It's as close to Giant's Causeway as you can…read moreget, and your room comes with parking. We got a triple room with terrace, and the terrace overlooks grazing pastures and a breathtaking coastal cliff trail. A hot, cooked breakfast is included which is nice as the hotel restaurant is one of only two places to eat up here. You also get an audio guide free at the visitor's center if you show your room card. A great place to stay if you want to see Giant's Causeway and also a nice "home base" if you want to explore Northern Ireland.

The dining room is cosy and modern with a flat screen tv displaying a constant video of a fish tank which is quite relaxing. My meal came the chips were better than last time the chicken goujons were ok but I wasn't keen on them, the garlic dip was nice but the crunchy pieces of garlic were a bit much, the side salad was nice but they didn't put any dressing at all on it so it was a bit bland. Nice hotel , nice decor, prices are reasonable. Steps entrance to front or ramp entrance to the side. The food has improved a bit from last time but I wouldn't be in a rush to get something to eat in the Adelphi, good place for a quick drink though, bottles of wine from £9. Parking on street. Free WiFi in hotel.

I wrote in our reservation notes the night before asking if we could check in a little early to get ready for our wedding and within an hour of submitting, their staff called and told us they would be more than willing to help out! We arrived to this adorable nestled hotel and checked in with ease. The moment we got to our room, I honestly shed tears of joy. Not only was the view of the coast breathtaking, but the incredible staff here had complimentary champagne waiting for us! We had an amazing wedding day and headed back to the Adelphi to inquire about fun spots to visit in town. They directed us to the Springhill pub down the street where we were greeted by an amazing group of soon to be new friends and had pint after pint in celebration. The next morning we headed down to breakfast and were so pleasantly surprised at how accommodating the staff was to our dietary needs! This was the first place on our entire trip that was able to give us the full Irish breakfast catered to our vegan diets. They even went so far as to put together a breakfast in bed tray for us to take up and snack on while we packed up. I cannot rave enough about this perfect hotel and hope anyone that reads this review heads up to Portrush to check it out. We will definitely be coming back every year to celebrate and will be sure to stay at the Adelphi! Thank you all again for your amazing hospitality!!

The Hedges Hotel - Information about The Dark Hedges near the Hedges Hotel parking lot

Awful. This place has the potential to be so much more. We were out for a drive and went up to the…read moreDark Hedges to take some photographs of the now mega famous trees. We thought that we would call into the Dark Hedges for some well deserved grub. I expected this place to totally capitalise on the tourist element and Game of Thrones following. Boy was I wrong. We went into a very dated hotel and struggled to actually find were the dining room was. When we worked out that it was at the back and up the stairs we sat down next to window. The room was extremely bright with no real atmosphere or decor to speak of. The menu was given to us and the food was nothing to write home about never the less we ordered. I ordered the chicken goujons with garlic sautéed potatoes and a trio of dips and my partner got the Dark Hedges Burger. When the food arrived i was very disappointed. On my plate were 3 "handmade" goujons that can only be described as a kiddies meal. The garlic potatoes were hard as rocks and not even the garlic butter was softening them. I had to ask the server for my trio of dips and his response was did you ask for dip. The staff member didnt know the menu as i had to tell him it was part of the dish. When the trio of dips arrived i was bemused because they arrived on 3 spoons as you will see from my picture. My partners burger looked promising until she bit into it and all she could taste was burnt bun. The brioche bun was toasted way to much which meant with every bite all she could taste was burnt bun. To add insult to injury the table beside us one of the guests ordered the goujons and got considerably more on her plate. No consistency in the kitchen clearly. Needless to say we wont be back. Real pity as i think it has the potential to be much much more
