They have a variety of finger buns, dinner rolls, pull-a-parts, sweet and savoury buns, also bread loaves which you can request to be cut in either sandwich or toast slice. I personally am a sucker for the cape seed loaf, toast sliced; or the ham and mayo roll if I'm after something for just myself. Another one that's good for sharing is their cheese and bacon pull-a-part! Or if you're wanting something sweet then the apple custard scroll is definitely the way to go! Bakers Delight in Manukau is located in the South Point shopping mall on Great South Road. This is a perfect location as they also have a supermarket and butcher in the vicinity, making it a one stop shop for all your daily necessities.

Known…read morefor selling a range of artisan bread loaves, they also offer handmade sandwiches on their delicious pide along with a few other deli items. For a delicious quick bite, we grabbed a couple of sandwiches, one beef and one chicken. The filling options are quite the generic such as chicken, beef, ham and vegetarian but lets be honest, those are the fillings that suit most. They were great for something light and had a delicious chutney or tomato jam. Its good if you are being health conscious or just not a fan of mayo like myself. They aren't anything fancy but a sandwich can make or break based on the bread it's served on - the fresh pide just makes it. If you're just looking for that loaf of bread to dip with in that extra gravy at dinner, or to make that delicious home made garlic bread, grab one of the many loaves they have on to offer. Its only a small store so I would recommend just grabbing anything takeaway. But they have such good bread, and so fresh, how can this be, I hear you ask yourself. Well, this is the answer: quite a lot of it comes from Swiss Konditorei Bern, where they bake great piles of delicious bread daily. Luckily they also have a few days a week where they are open to the great unwashed as well, so anyone can go in and buy baked goods from them. It's hard to recommend one thing over the other here because everything I've ever bought here is very very good, but my favourites are the small "health rolls" (wholemeal rolls with seeds and nuts) and at the other end of the health spectrum, the Matterhorns: cones of alcohol-soaked sponge covered in chocolate. They also sell a small range of Swiss smallgoods, such as salamis and other preserved meats. Finally, they're always very friendly here and happy to have a chat and recommend a particular bread for what you'd like it for, and everything is at a really good price.

Pandoro also make cute little dinner rolls and mini loaves, the 5 grain mini loaf is very nice, sliced you can have miniature toast! The Normandy Rye is pretty spectacular too. The guys who work here are fantastic, always really friendly. If you're in central city this is the best place to come for bread, fresh bread from the supermarket bakery is not the same, I wouldn't buy it. You're better to pay the extra and get proper bread made from real ingredients without the 'may contain traces of milk, fish and nut products'. Gross.
