We went to Crafty Baker based off Melanie's review and boy were we glad we did. They specialise in sourdough as well as other delightful baked treats and as Melanie mentioned, even make their own butter!
When you walk in, check out the explanation on the wall about how sourdough is made and the associated health benefits. Who knew that it's slow fermentation process makes it easier for us to digest, so much so that even gluten intolerant people can often eat it, no dramas. And if you like sourdough, there's is some of best in the city - super chewy and full of flavour. The ideal bread for dipping with a good quality EVOO.
Also, if you're a pie fan it's worth wrapping your mouth around one (or several) of theirs. I will warn you that they are smaller than normal pies but they make up for it in flavour and the high quality ingredients - no weird fat globules here. My favourite is their classic mince & cheese. It's got added spice and is deliciously flakey.
