I've been there twice now…read more First night (Saturday) there was very loud, derogatory rap music playing. Families with kids eat there, they should not have to hear stuff like that. It was very hard to communicate with the server due to the noise. The actual menu is a lot smaller then what is shown on their website. Especially fish options. I had grouper tenders which were small and mostly breading. Not worth it. Fries were excellent. Tartar sauce appeared to be pure mayo, no sign of relish or lemon at all. Ketchup, mustard, and salt were the only condiments on the table, not sure if anything else was available, like cider vinegar or even pepper. It's a pub, you would think all that stuff to be automatic. Second night (9 pm Sunday) I tried to go elsewhere because of my previous night's experience, but not many other options. Most of Alma was already closed. Tonight there was no music playing, so I was able to have a conversation. I had the olive burger with steak fries, my son had boneless wings with Thai sauce and waffle fries. Everything was very good, and a good value for the money. I guess I need a third night to be a tie-breaker.

Usually, choices are slim, mostly fast food. Today we were lucky, Eternity Brewking was open until 6 p.m. I dropped the idea of doing yoga and we got our butts to the place since it was 5 p.m. We kike it a lot. Service was excellent, Kylie (?) was fantastic, friendly, funny, attentive, and helpful with recommendations. She was great with all the customers. The space is open, simple, and comfortable promoting a welcoming atmosphere. Few items on the menu, are simple, and tasty. I had grilled cheese with one of the best tomato soups I had in a long time, great combo. Plenty of gooey yummy cheese and toasted crispy bread I washed that down with a flight of very interesting beers. The one that took me by surprise is When Life Gives You Blueberries. Deceiving and sneaky. My nose thought I was going to drink wine and my taste buds were surprised with the tart-sour taste nothing like a beer. My husband had the chili dog and enjoyed it very much. When we saw her 10 minutes after that, we let her know that some of our food came out cold. Her solution was to reheat the cold food or remake it. After being there around an hour, we really did not feel like staying, so we asked for neither. She sent her manager to talk to us. We did not catch his name, but he was wearing a University of Miami polo shirt. He offered the same solutions. When asked why we didn't have food for 45 minutes, he said a pizza can take up to 15 minutes to make and they were very busy. When I asked what he meant, the restaurant was not full, he asked if I wanted my food or not. I told him no, that I didn't really care for cold food and I was not sure if it was safe to eat. When I asked him that why we had not seen a server from the time we ordered until then, he said "What? Because your drink was empty or something?" At that point, I did not really want to argue over cold food and a waste of time, so we paid for our food and left. It was pretty disappointing to wait 40-45 minutes for cold food. It felt like our server went on break and no one covered for her, or noticed that some tables were going without service. I hope this is not what we should expect from Hamlin Pub. The old-fashioned was just OK in my opinion and needed a tad more sweetness based on how I like my drink. The margarita on the other hand was very good with the base being Hornito's Blanco. Nice! Price was quite fair at $10 a cocktail, but not as great of a deal as the hamburger and fries were. Relative to the business itself and the staff, the business is a no-frills blue-collar type bar/restaurant where it would appear to have a loyal clientle. It appears to be a mix between an Irish bar and a sports bar as there are a lot of TVs scattered about to watch the big game. Staff was quite friendly where the waitresses knew a lot of the customers by name. Again very nice! If you are looking for a good burger bar with inexpensive prices, then look no further than this joint. This may have been my first trip here, but it definitely will not be my last!
