I can usually detect how truthful someone is and not only did Tony come across as truthful, he also came across as sincere. I decided to move forward with Tony. Tony's communication was spot on. The other thing that impressed me with Tony was that he was working right alongside his crew. He was onsite 100% of the time. The sad part is all he had to do was finish the work I paid him for and return the money for the landscaping job that he never started and I probably would've given him a five star review. A neighbor and friend who used Josh Beltran for their concrete referred me. They were happy with his concrete work but disappointed in the subcontractor that he used for the lawn and landscaping. My neighbors complaints were the ground wasn't properly leveled for the lawn, poor drainage, and poor sprinkler coverage which led to large areas of grass pooling with water and large areas that died. His name is Daniel. You will see his name in a previous yelp review on Josh's yelp page. Him and Josh give each other referrals for work. The concrete patio work I hired Josh for was going well and the workers he sent over we're very nice and professional. Other then some difficulties getting a hold of Josh by phone when I had questions, the work was going well. In fact so well that Josh proposed he do the lawn portion of my backyard project. I told him how my neighbor felt about the work done at his house and Josh said, "well that's because they went with another guy". I was a little confused because my neighbor said that Daniel was a direct referral from josh but I thought whatever, maybe he has a couple different landscapers that he subs out to or refers to . He went on to say that if I hired him for the job it would be done right and turn out above my expectations, going into great detail about how he would do the work. Not having any reason to doubt him at this point I agreed with the condition that he doesn't use the same subcontractor (Daniel). At this point Josh had collected a $2500 deposit on the lawn portion of my project and the only thing left to do on my concrete work was clean up and finish trenching the backyard drainage system to my front yard curb so that when it rained I wouldn't get any areas of my yard that pooled or flooded. No work for the lawn had begun... no leveling of the ground, no trenching for the irrigation systems, no product ordered or delivered. A week goes by with nothing being done at my house before the lawn subcontractor shows up and lo and behold it's Daniel, literally the only person I asked him not to subcontract the job out to. After not returning my phone calls for a week I get an email response from Josh stating he has no one else he can sub the work out to. He apologize for the inconvenience and said he would refund me my deposit and be out soon to finish the drainage system that was part of the original concrete contract. Like I said at this point I still would've given Josh five stars on his review having only been inconvenienced a little bit by having to find a new lawn subcontractor. But unfortunately this is where the story turns for the worse. Days and weeks go by... I never received a phone call (and he has stopped answering my phone calls ),I never receive a check... and no one comes out to finish the drainage system. I get an occasional email that states"The check is in the mail", or "my office is processing the refund". He strung me along for weeks and months before I realized he was never going to refund me my money. I held back writing this review for months in hopes that he would do the right thing and refund me my deposit. But his morals and ethics are very apparent at this point. I eventually hired another lawn guy who did amazing work, Carlos from Turf solutions "Turf guy".I had to pay him a little extra to finish the drainage system that Josh never completed but he was worth every penny and did my lawn and landscaping for $1500 (30% less) under what Josh was going to charge me, and that was with completing the drainage system. In one email I received from Josh he argued that he wasn't obligated to finish the backyard drainage system because he was going to complete it with the Lawn portion which I canceled. This made no sense to me seeing how the drainage system was part of the original contract way before I even decided to hire him to do my lawn. In closing Josh Beltran is a dishonest contractor who doesn't finish work and scams people out of deposits. I can only hope this review serves as a warning to those who do their research before hiring him. If Josh ever decides to do the right thing and refund me my money and apologize I would be happy to remove my review.

We set the appt, but had to change it to the following week which was this past Sat. So far so good. Well, day of the appt, nobody shows. We called and left a message for the company and still have not received a call back. Now that I'm reading the other reviews of this company being unreliable, I should probably be glad that everything fell through.... I was really looking forward to working with them, seeing that they are a family based business, but customer service is number one, especially when dealing with numbers this high.
