If you are obsessed with your nails and you're like me, clockwork every two weeks you're in the chair, then you need to check out Blackheart Nails. Now, I have a nail person I've been going to for years, but she is having a baby and is on maternity leave. As much as I am happy for her, I was stressing about my nails. I'm very particular when it comes to my nail game. I can't just go to any random spot without a recommendation and some research. Yes, it's that serious! Don't play me. An high school pal posted a story of her "Christmas fantasy" nails on the gram and tagged blackheart nails. I immediately checked them out and it was a YES for me. The booking was a breeze, straight to the point. The day of the appointment, I was able to find parking easily. They are located upstairs, you can't miss the sign. They do have two studios, so be mindful of the nail tech you booked with which will decide on which studio you'll go into. I booked with Lauren who specializes in 3D nail art. Lauren was great and my nails turned out so good! I was very impressed and loved the way they turned out. If you are looking for a new nail salon, I highly recommend checking out Blackheart Nails. This is for Yui. She's absolutely ridiculous and has a shady business practice. I don't usually leave a review here but I am seriously appalled. don't book here the artist won't let you reschedule at least 48 hours in advance. Nope she wants you to reschedule 72 hours in advance. And then charges you $150 for a cancellation fee. $150. She didn't even bother reaching out to me but decided to charge me a whole day's worth of my paycheck. Absurd I understand if you charged us 50%. Also it's ridiculous to ask for 72 hours in advance, I realized on the 48th hour mark that I couldn't make it and tried to reschedule but nope I couldn't do it. Usually it's common practice to let your clients reschedule at 24 hours. Come a couple days late I was charged $150. I am appalled and do not recommend this artist at all. Be careful when you add your card on this artist's square space account. When I try to reach out to her to reschedule do you know what she does? She blocks me on the ONLY social media platform I can contact her through. She never texted me to check nope she just charged me the whole fee. Great! The nerve honestly. People like this shouldn't be running a business. read more

I've been going to Lauren since her earliest days doing nails in LA. She's the absolute GOAT: skilled, creative, caring, funny as hell, and all of that is going to show up on your nails. My nails have spent half a decade looking fly as hell b/c of her. My cuticles and nail beds have never been better. The studio has a great vibe and everyone is always nice there. Lauren's skills & style always crack me up too. She can keep you classy or get as weird as you want. Blackheart Nails will make your nails great and has the most comfortable sofa in LA. Go in confidence and AMA. 5 stars!! EDITED: to include some techy details. The products and tools are always up to date and high quality. The gel is Japanese hard gel - a ceramic polymer, and removal is using dremel style tips. I've never had a soak off here, you'll have the gel carefully and precisely sanded off, leaving your nail bed unaffected by chemical soaks. The cuticle work is with Russian style dremel tips. The studio is spotless and cute & your nails won't be assaulted by chemicals (no shame here but I really like this fact for my own nails) or haphazard snipping at your cuticles. read more

She absolutely blew me away with her detail-oriented, comfortable, and super chill work flow, and now I recommend her to everyone I meet (which happens quite often because I'm always getting complements on my nails!) Lauren is my knight in shining armor when it comes to nail care and nail art. I had no idea my nails could grow this long and strong. She takes such excellent care of her client's nail beds. The quality of her artistry is also the best I've found. Everything she paints is super crisp and lasts me a full 5-6 weeks without peeling, which is unheard of for me. Lauren is a true nail artist! I've gone to so many different nail places and techs over the years. Not one has been as good as Lauren and my nails always end up wrecked. For the first time my life, I have strong natural nails with actual length! Her nail prep and care is immaculate, but the art is other worldly. Lauren paints bad ass designs BY HAND and always listens to my crazy requests. Her supply of fun decals and gems is astounding. She never runs out of ideas.
