    Donuts
    Adina S.

In all honesty, I'm not much of a donut fan, but if I had to have a donut, it would be one of the ones from Blackbird. Their donuts are nice and cakey and don't feel overly greasy. However, they are on the heavier side, so they're not the kind of donuts you can have a bunch of in one seating. I haven't been to the actual donut shop, as I tried them at an event, so I can't comment on the service, but I'd imagine it's a pretty casual spot. Great option if you'd like to cater them for an event. The best part about these donuts is the various flavors. I love having the ability to pick from some of the more unique ones, especially if they have toppings. However, you can't go wrong with a classic vanilla or chocolate cake donut. I'd like to visit the donut shop in person at some point!

Solid donuts - not overly sweet and inside is almost bread-like. I didn't feel gross afterwards which I sometimes do with greasy and overly sweetened donuts. There are lots of interesting flavors to try and we got the honey blackberry which was great. They are a bit pricey at $4.5 a pop though.

    Matcha and Cheesecake Doughtnut

Staff was friendly and super quick. This is a stall in the middle of Smith Campus Center which is so spacious so the ambiance is always great. They really got lucky with such a great location, especially since it's right next to the rooftop garden. I got the matcha cheesecake, which is filled with matcha and cream cheese creme and has cheesecake crumble on top. The donut was very fluffy and it was good but I was a little disappointed. It was a bit too oily and too sweet. I couldn't taste the matcha at all, but I could see it. The creme was very sour? My friend and I kept wondering if they added lemon in addition to the cream cheese because it's not just the sourness of the cream cheese. Overall, nice to have a treat once in a while but the flavor might be a hit or a miss.

I've been here twice with friends and so far I've tried the Vanilla Glazed donut, Blackbird donut, the Everything bagel donut, the Ice cream cake donut, and the Mango Mojito donut. The classic flavors (the Vanilla Glazed donut and Blackbird donut) were slightly underwhelming. I liked the Vanilla Glazed donut for its airy and light texture, but I felt as if the Blackbird donut wasn't worth the price since it was too dense and significantly smaller than the other donuts even though they were the same price. You could get these flavors elsewhere and be just as satisfied. I was more satisfied with the unique donuts. One of my favorites was the Everything Bagel donut. The dough was fluffy and soft to bite into. Eating it can be a bit messy when eating since there are Everything Bagel toppings that fall off when you bite into it. The cream cheese filling itself was very tasty. I found that the Ice Cream Donut was sweet and tasty. I liked the chocolate filling that accompanied the donut. Although the filling was nice, it became overwhelming after a few bites and would spill out while biting into the donut. Something unfortunate is how they package their donuts. I wish that the donuts were put into a small box instead of a paper bag as the donuts get squished and stuck to the sides of the bag if you don't eat them right away. Overall, the donuts were alright, but not amazing. Worth giving this place a try though for its unique variety of flavors!

    Blueberry muffin donut

I tried two donuts: the toffee flavored and the blueberry muffin flavored. The toffee donut had a great texture, good dough, and frosting that was a bit sweeter than my liking, but overall a pleasant flavor. The blueberry muffin had a nice cakey dough, but I couldn't find out because of the ungodly amount of sugar crystals added to the top. I swear it could give a blue whale type 2 diabetes and I couldn't scrape it all off sadly...

Purple Cow (Chocolate Cake with Raspberry Frosting and Chocolate Chip)
    Nat B.

Their donuts are aight! I got their Purple Cow -- a chocolate cake with raspberry frosting and chocolate chip; fluffy and super tasty. There were a couple of donuts that shouldn't be made at all, like the Chocolate Chip donut topped with actual potato chips *shudders*. Their cold brew was great, affordable and complemented the donuts well. They have every milk type available including almond. Also, make sure to get their rewards card. -- Your 10th drink will be free!

This is my first time in Boston and I'm hanging out here at Harvard. I was looking for a spot for lunch so I saw this area near the station the "Smith Campus Center" which house a food court so I decided to stop in. I had. Buffalo Cali melt that was awesome... it's not chicken but very flavorful.

Ok so I heard so much hype about this place that maybe I had higher expectations going in. Yes the place and ambiance is great. Service not so much. Its not courteous or timely. Donuts are good and yes they have some interesting not so regular flavors. So that part is great. Tried their tea which was ok too. Me and my friend tried their Mango mojito and ice cream cake donuts which were both great. Its right in Smiths student center so that's a plus too.

Tried the cherry cobbler doughnut and it was alright? Not bad but a little dry and underwhelming in flavor.

This one didn't have a long line that I knew their North End location would certainly be marked by. On our first visit, we tried a plain cannoli to have a baseline of what to expect. We also tried a pistachio macaron. On the second visit, we tried a red velvet whoopie pie and a pistachio cannoli. The cannoli's are fire. The shell is thick, crispy and they hold up. They're stuffed with sweet creamy ricotta. It's a perfect pairing of soft cream and a hard shell. This location had a few bar seats available at the window and against the wall. There's a huge window of sweet treats on display. I definitely recommend visiting, try a cannoli and get something to go. They have everything from lobster tails to Boston cream pie. I think it would take someone with a lot of will power to come here and walk out without getting something.

Mike's Pastry in Cambridge brings the famous North End bakery experience to Harvard Square, making…read moreit easy to enjoy their iconic pastries without heading into downtown Boston. Located on Dunster Street, the shop is designed for efficiency, with a straightforward layout that keeps the line moving even during busy hours. There are a few counter seats inside, but it's primarily a grab-and-go destination where most people leave carrying one of the bakery's signature string-tied pastry boxes. The cannolis are the main reason to visit, and they certainly live up to their reputation in terms of size. The classic chocolate chip cannoli is generously filled from end to end with a rich, sweet ricotta cream, while the crisp shell provides just the right amount of crunch. If you're looking for something a little different, the Florentine cannoli is an excellent choice. Its honey-nut shell adds an extra layer of texture and a subtle caramelized flavor that pairs beautifully with the creamy filling. Beyond the cannolis, the bakery offers an impressive selection of Italian pastries, cookies, cakes, and other desserts. The lobster tails are another popular option, with flaky layers surrounding a rich cream filling, and the display cases are filled with enough variety to make it difficult to choose just one item. Prices are a bit higher than your average neighborhood bakery, but the portions are generous enough that many pastries can easily be shared. Service is quick and efficient, with staff focused on keeping the line moving throughout the day. Since seating is limited, it's worth taking your pastries to nearby Harvard Yard or the Charles River, where you can enjoy them at a more relaxed pace. Mike's Pastry may be best known for its North End flagship, but the Cambridge location delivers the same oversized cannolis and classic Italian desserts in a much more convenient setting. Whether you're craving the original chocolate chip cannoli or one of their many other pastries, it's an easy stop whenever you're spending time around Harvard Square.
