Pretty good cider and cozy outside seating next to the apple orchard. I enjoyed most of the ciders I tried here. You can make your own flight even though they have premade flights posted. It's a smaller cidery. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to visit but if I'm in the area I would definitely visit again.

Out driving on a beautiful day and found ourselves near cider works! They offer many different varieties of sweet and dry cider. Have a flight and decide your favorite! Don't forget your growler!

I think this was my second time here, although I frequently buy their cider in cans and draft at stores and bars. Since we didn't know what all we'd be doing on our drive around WNY and if we'd be stopping for other alcohol venues we split one flight between 2 of us. Did the sweeter flight which was a good choice. Bought a few bottles and two 4 packs to have at home.

A group of us did the wine trail tour yesterday, and despite this being a cider guy, it was our first bus stop and i was glad for it. I'm not really big on wines, but i love a good cider. The cider tasting costs $5 for four samples, very reasonable. The ciders on the menu are ranked for driest at the top to sweetest on the bottom. They also had a seasonal "Christmas" cider in the mix, landing on the sweet side. I prefer sweeter, so i chose to sample: -New England Style -Premium Draft -Christmas -Red Barn I didn't really care too much for the New England Style, maybe it was the medium dry taste or the high alcohol content, I'm not sure. but Premium Draft was like a classic apple cider, Christmas had a holiday spice not to it and Red Barn was deliciously sweet smooth- all three were amazing. I wanted to buy all the ciders to take home, but they did not offer bottles in all three varieties. The Premium Draft came in cans and The Christmas would have to be in a growler. So i bought a a bottle of Red Barn. I really enjoyed the decor in here, it's a Barn turned cidery and was very cute and welcoming. They also sold merch and you could even look into the back area through windows and see some of the equipment. I'm a big fan of the process! Overall it was a great first stop and my favorite.

Cute smaller place. Nice outdoor seating in the back by the apple trees. I had a flight and loved the Chandler Street cherry cider! Light and refreshing. Only wish they had more cold selections available, they carry craft beer but you would have to drink it warm if you don't like cider.

The Niagara Wine Trail is my favorite wine trail. This cidery is on that trail! I have been here a few times to sample some cider. My favorite to date is the Premium Draft. It is a classic cider so it is crisp and sweet. The tasting room is small but very nice when the weather is nice. There is a roll up door with a screen so there is a beautiful breeze. Staff are always nice and attentative. If you don't want to purchase right there and then, Blackbird is sold at the grocery store!

Cool little cider shop. None of the ciders were very outstanding, but nice for something different. Our group did not end up buying anything because while the ciders were good, nothing was great. The girl at the counter was nice, needed a little encouraging to open up, but once she started talking she was very nice and informative.

The cider is lovely. The staff are lovely. I hate that you cannot refuse a plastic bag with purchase.

I love their cider. Had never been straight to the source before, and was excited to check it out firsthand. Had a taste of the ciders on tap, and decided on the Estate Blend to fill my growler. I also grabbed the semi-sweet organic in a bottle. The staff were absolutely lovely. Very friendly and attentive. However, when I paid, they insisted that I had to carry my purchases out in their plastic bags (which kills me because I take moral issue plastic bags). I said, "Oh please, may I skip the bags? I'm a crazy environmentalist." The bartender looked very apologetic, but she said it was mandated by the owner. I said, "Please, I must insist--I don't use plastic bags--I'm walking right out--I'll use my own bag!" To no avail. Hence, the 3 stars. I will not go back. I will buy my BlackBird from dealers, but I won't go to a place that insists I use their plastic bags when I so viscerally can't stand them. To the owner of BlackBird: your cider's awesome. Get some paper bags, son.

But that didn't stop them from welcoming people to purchase their wonderful cider in a drive thru format after pre-ordering. There was a Google order form and Black Creek Cidery advertised on their Facebook page. I ordered two four-packs. One four pack of their Orchard Tea and Dry Orchard, and the other four-pack was mixed, including jalapeno, rat bastard and blackcurrent. Pick up was the first Saturday in December for a couple hours. Everything was well marked, and directions were displayed on the Google form, the confirmation that came to my email, as well as a post on Facebook. When I pulled in, I was immediately directed by several groups of people, all wearing masks. They were all exceptionally friendly and jovial. I pulled up to the main area, told them my last name and my four packs were put in my backseat. Bonus, each four pack came with a tote bag, separating the bottles and making sure they didn't bang around, as well as a bottle opener, because you'll need one to open this delicious cider. This is the only cider I'll drink and I'll tell you why. I have tried many ciders because I can't drink beer anymore, and this is now my drink of choice when I am in the presence of people drinking beer and when I don't want to drink hard liquor or hard seltzer. Black Creek's cider doesn't leave you with that weird phlegmy thing happening in your mouth and throat. They aren't too sweet either. They are absolutely perfect. I can't wait to try the other flavors I purchased. This is a family-run business and everyone who I encountered while safely going through the drive thru was delightful. You can get Black Creek Cider at local retailers throughout the year, but they only open up their home once a year. If you want to meet the hardworking people who make this fabulous cider, stop by on that day. If you happen to see this in your liquor store, pick up a bottle, or 6 or 12. You won't be disappointed and you'll be supporting a local, hardworking family business. You can tell everyone is passionate and excited about creating cider and meeting people who enjoy consuming it.

They now charge $3 for a size of French fries that they used to have as the regular side option The food we had yesterday was... Eh. My husband got the Reuben and it was hands down the worst Reuben we've had in years. The meat was dry, the sauerkraut was dry and the thousand island dressing was non-existent. Horrible! My Diavolo pizza was okay... The flavor was good and the toppings were evenly placed but it was soggy. Like a pool of grease underneath it. It's a brick-oven pizza! How?!? Plus soooo small for a $20 pizza. I do like their cider and idk ... Maybe they raised prices and lowered quality just in the winter to try to make it by? -- A perfect WNY fall tradition!…read more Smith's Orchard Cider Mill A trip to Western New York just isn't complete without an apple-picking adventure, and my sister found a winner with Smith's Orchard Cider Mill! We went on a warm October Sunday, and while the parking lot was full, we managed to find a spot halfway down and got right into the fun. The friendly staff gave us quick instructions, handed each of us a bag, and said the magic words -- "Pick as many as you want; what you pick is yours!" Challenge accepted. Rows were clearly marked by variety, and while the first few trees looked pretty bare, a little exploring led us to a goldmine of apples -- perfect for filling our bags and taking some great pictures. My sister never hesitates to find someone to snap a photo, and with the sun shining through the orchard, it made for fantastic memories with my brother and sister. We wrapped up by waiting a few minutes to check out, but that gave us time to enjoy a cold glass of their fresh apple cider -- nothing beats that crisp WNY flavor on a Sunday morning! An absolutely perfect start to the day and a stop we'll no doubt revisit next year. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun, relaxed fall outing!

Note: when you put the location in maps, depending where you're coming from, it might take you to the front of the orchard, the parking lot is on the side, its grass parking and then a gravel walkway. (Please prepare accordingly). If there's no parking, I've seen people park on the street, and walk. This place is pretty hopping. We arrived at 11am and the cider/donut/checkout line did not die down. Since this was the second weekend of the season, only a handful of flavors were available: McIntosh, cortland, and daybreak Fuji. For those looking to bake: the daybreak Fuji are the best of the three as it won't reduce to mush, but the other two are great for applesauce etc. I made an apple crisp with a mix of the daybreak Fuji and the cortland, it turned out really solid. They have portapotties here and a sink to wash your hands. They do provide plastic bags for apple picking, and their cider mill dog; Cider; is "guarding" the bags. No really, she just wants to be petted and give her attention, she's insanely friendly. They do have pumpkins here for 5$ each. I didn't get one because it was too early for me and the deer would've just ate it off my lawn. You can bring your own bags to pick apples since you purchase by the weight. If you're planning to get a lot of apples, the reusable grocery bags are solid. We met at the picnic tables by the front and then walked over to the orchards to start picking apples. The apples that are not ready, are tapered off with colored plastic string rope. Each row of trees is labelled with what type they are for easy identification. We all split up and started picking apples, no rhythm or reason to it, just happily picking. Very friendly for kids to pick too as some apples hang lower. It was a very chill day and event full of happy. Post-overloading our bags with apples, we went back to the entrance where the cider/donut/checkout line did not die down. It kept moving but kept growing. We waited about 15minutes to purchase donuts slushies and pay for our apples. There are Concord grapes for purchase up front, and gallons of cider. I got six donuts and a cider slushie, a bag of Concord grapes and we had two heaping bags of apples, and we paid I believe 50$ ish for everything. Granted my bag of apples was like 20$ for how much it weighed. We used about 20-25 apples Saturday for cooking/baking/juicing, and we still have another heaping bag left. Probably going to make some sort of bread and maybe a pie. Anyway. The cider slushie is so good and refreshing, I wish I had ordered two up front because that line did not die down. They had so many folks working the counter though that it kept moving which shows you how much traffic the place was receiving. But also to show you to appreciate the business and the work that goes into every weekend event. The cinnamon sugar fry cake donuts I ordered six, ate three there, and three on way home/at home. They were piping hot when we got them, so insanely fresh. Delicious. It was a really fun afternoon of at your leisure bonding.
