While bopping along to the background music and working on my laptop, I was informed that Leaf would close early at 19h instead of 20h, so I seized the opportunity to order dinner as well: the jerk lamb rump, and an order of jasmine pearl tea. The waiter helped me verify that the lamb was free of dairy, and soon I was chowing down on succulent roast lamb and garlicky roast beans. The mango jam was a perfect accompaniment to the meat, but I found the coconut/coriander rice too mushy to my taste. It helped me to imagine them as mashed potatoes instead, haha. The tea was sensuously fragrant, and I welcomed the scented fog clouding my glasses. I wish I could have stayed there longer, but I might return for brunch or tea - Leaf is truly a serene, wonderful establishment.

The menu offers breakfasts, panini's, hot dogs , burgers and home made cakes...I decided to try the Goats Cheese, Roast Pepper , Mushroom burger with a Berry smoothie. First off, I had asked one of the barmen what the smoohie of the day was. It was difficult to tell out of the three standing there who was serving who..He answered very rudely he was serving someone. When it came to our turn to actually order food it was a disaster. He was obviously new and struggled to put it through the till. When he eventually did and repeated the order back, it was completely wrong. I must have repeated my order six times..how can you mistake a veggie burger for pulled pork? During this time the queue started to build. Who I thought might have been an experienced woman, she tried to step in and take control. She was even ruder than the man. She also struggled to put it through... By this point we were going to walk out because they were taking their frustrations out on us, and the manager had let this happen for ten minutes before stepping in. If I were her I would have told my two new staff to apoligse for their rudeness . She put our order through immediately and got rid of the crowd single handedly. When the food was served the waitress gave me daggers every time and spoke sarcastically. The food was really tasty but the hostile nature and ill treatment spoiled it for us. I will not go back again because I have never been so ill treated before, and the way that the manager let them flounder for so long. I will be giving the actual company itself direct feedback because that was not on . Oh and they don't have a toilet.. you have to use the ones downstairs for 30p a pop.. 24/12 /14- my star rating is going because after discussing my experience with head of management, they really looked into it and compensated me £35..really Impressed with the level of care

People say the drinks are expensive, yet you go to London and happily pay £5.60 for a pint. So here in Manchester in a public railway station where we all know prices will be up anyway, I paid £8.20 for two pints. So realistically its not that bad. The beer was cold and refreshing and they do a realllllllly nice hot chocolate. So realistically your waiting for your train or waiting for somebody to get off a train. it is worth a visit. Equally the food is not of Michelin star quality but its perfectly edible and rather scrumptious. Its very much worth a visit!

I decided to try this one because why not ... it is quicker for me to get to when I visit on the train as its just outside Piccadilly station so thought why not. Its a 2 floor restaurant with seating both upstairs and down, huge glass store front so you can sit inside and watch the people going to and from the station and just relax. I got there just after 8am and there wasn't as many people in as there would have been for the original store in the centre of the city, which is good because it meant I could easily get a seat and served. The decor was awesome and some of my pictures show it, however I didn't go upstairs and always feel dodgy when taking pictures of the arrangement as I was across from the serving area. It looked nice done up all festive too and we quickly got seen to. Luckily it has the same menu as the other establishments and the lovely server told us that everything was available which is awesome. Being a creature of habit, I went for my old faithful, the grande bouche which is the brioche french toast with bacon, and a vanilla latte. I figured, in order to review them both, I need to try the same dish and see which one I preferred. Unfortunately I could differentiate my favourite as they are both EPIC. However, I do believe I got more bacon at the piccadilly one so YAY for more bacon. I only have 2 niggles at this store, however, one was partly my fault, and so was the other thinking about it. They were, the food didn't stay hot enough (however I was dawdling in eating it) ... and the other is that, with people coming in and out constantly, there was a draft (but we did sit near the door). All in all it was an excellent trip and I cant wait to go there again. As well as the grande bouche and vanilla latte, I got a stack of 3 blueberry pancakes to share with my brother. We have had the pancakes before and due to the size, they got a little dry ... however the addition of blueberries moistened it up as they were VERY juicy and delicious blueberries (deffo want more blueberries next time). This is their latest branch and second in Manchester city centre, on Piccadilly Approach - it is a fairly small store but serves a convenient location if one is getting a train from Piccadilly Station. If you've ordered with Moose in Manchester on Deliveroo - chances are the order has come from this branch. The store inside is pretty small compared to their other branch but it still does have some nice comfortable seating and tables (there were children standing on the cushioned seats which goes down the store however which I didn't like - but the staff can't control customers children!) When I entered, I waited to be sat down and was served by a man - he seemed to struggle understanding English and even admitted that - I asked him for an allergen guide (it says on the menu you can request one and they do have it online too but I wanted to get one in-store to test the staff knowledge to see if I actually felt confident eating here), however, he looked at me puzzled and originally thought I was unable to read the menu - so despite asking to sit down twice and asking him questions, he appeared to block me from sitting down. I eventually had to ask another member of staff who seemed a lot more confident than the other staff member here - who seemed confused that gluten-free options weren't labelled on the menu when vegan was. This was a slow and frustrating process. I ended up going for the Mighty Moose after finding out it could be made with gluten-free bread, the lady server also offered to make me an iced tea but she did say she wasn't aware of how it would turn out as it is basically making a hot tea over ice and they don't normally do it. I decided to go for an Iced Earl Grey with Vanilla syrup, this was quite reasonably priced at £2 with an extra £0.30 for syrup, however, the drink was just drinkable and it really was tea over ice - the drink didn't even taste of vanilla, it was just bitter water if anything. My food quality overall was okay but I did seem to have a problem with every aspect of my dish - considering it was with a potato hash, I expected the bacon to be those nice, thin crispy rashers of bacon however the bacon wasn't like that - it had no crispiness to it, it seemed slightly undercooked and was rather chewy. My fried eggs did look the part but I found them to be slightly too runny for my liking. The potato hash in most cases did taste quite good with nice potatoes however a good part of it was overseasoned and far too peppery - meaning I had to leave part of it which was a shame. I was quite surprised however with the gluten-free toast as it was basically on the brink of being burnt - considering how hard it is to toast gluten-free bread as it tastes longer I was shocked how they got it like this (it also is a shame they don't have gluten free bread clearly listed on the menu so customers can be easily aware of it) - the bread, however, was cold, it felt like they'd invented a zapper which toasts bread rather than getting it hot. The overall feel of the place wasn't great - and I certainly would want to avoid the outdoor seating area, with it being on such a busy street leading up to the station you have loads of people running past with cigarettes, suitcases and the Free Bus parking just outside - meaning if you want a more typical American diner experience you might be best heading to their other branch in the city on York Street. Everything came to £10.10 which for a city centre location and fresh food - wasn't too bad. Would I come here again? Probably not - only as a last resort is getting a train, facing issues from minor to much bigger on my food and the male server seeming inexperienced and untrained (he did seem friendly however he just really struggled). 2* for this being one of the better places to get food before heading on a train from Piccadilly station, especially considering terrible experiences at Carluccio's inside the station and Bella Itallia, a five minute or so walk away in Piccadilly Gardens in the past.

It was a surprisingly filling sandwich. I couldn't finish it from feeling so full. My skinny mocha was good. I don't know that I can judge much other than to say it was a good coffee drink. Staff is friendly. Plenty of seating including open tables. I wish I had tried a baked good cuz they looked amazing, but just didn't have the room.

An asian girl, prob early 20's went up to the coffee bar . She wore tall red wellies, Had to smile to myself, looked great for Glastonbury but this was inside Piccadilly Station' on one of our most sunny and hot days this year. She then proceeded to fumble and drop a pound coin. look around , run after it and pick it up. Another quick fumble and there it goes the pound went rolling arlong the floor again. Picked up again and yet another fumble and yet again away went the coin. You had to see it to appreciate it. Will go there again on my next station visit.
