    BEC

Great layout of the store. Hard to find though. The bagel wasn't bad but a BEC $12 is pretty expensive. You can get the same thing at a bodega for half the price. There was nothing special about the BEC or the bagel. I did like that they didn't scramble the eggs. The service was a little slower than expected. A lot of people were waiting for their orders.

This is one of the worst bagels in New York City. They still taste fine but a bagel from the grocery store tossed in the toaster will do exactly the same trick. It tastes incredibly bland and could use a good amount of salt. Prices here are not terrible but too high considering the quality. The staff is friendly and the food is prepared at a typical pace-- even egg sandwiches come out relatively fast. Weirdly enough this is still probably still one of the better places to eat in grand central so I will probably come again... out of necessity. Just be aware what you are going into.

The location's a little hidden away for those who don't work in the MetLife building. It's not busy even at lunch time. The food still took a while to come out. I really dislike the lox - it's mixed with dill and to me that's a deal breaker. Yes it's listed on the menu, but perhaps offer the more traditional lox as well as an option? Not everyone likes dill.

I have come here a couple of times. I went to try the Iberico Chorizo EEG and cheese on an everything bagel. I did add hot sauce on it and I put pepper jack cheese. The sandwich was good but to me it was a bit dry. I thought adding the hot sauce would have helped the sandwich be more flavorful. If the chorizo had more fat then it would have added to the overall taste of the sandwich and helped with the dryness of the sandwich. The arrive is always good and they move fast. This place is nice and it is a take and go place. I would say order online so it is quicker.

Brick lane sandwich on everything bagel - the mustard is strong and spicy! Pastrami is cooked well and very tender. Personally not a fan of everything bagel but didn't have any issues with this one. Turkey Reuben on multigrain sandwich - loved the multigrain bagel! It was hearty and I tasted the multigrain notes all throughout the meal. Can def know it's been baked fresh and had the newly baked bread taste. Service was nice! Cashier was prompt and explained the differences of the bagels. But she had taken a wrong order choice for my bagel. But all good- multigrain bagel was still a score! Small store, love the outdoor seats outside. There's a seating area by the indoor windows as well. Nothing to note for the aesthetics or interior. I would give this a solid 7/10. The price is around $14 for the sandwiches - fair to say it's a bit pricey for a small bagel sand

THE BEC w/ SCALLION CREAM CHEESE on an everything bagel

I had tried the Rockefeller location of Black Seed Bagels about a year back and was very disappointed. I was in a rush and decided to grab a BEC here on my way into Grand Central and I was so incredibly pleased. The bagel was that perfect blend of crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The eggs tasted fresh and the bacon was crispy. The staff was friendly and joking around with me even at an early hour. My pro tip with any sort of bagel sandwich? Always add cream cheese to it. Maybe I was just hungry, but this was one of the better BEC's I've had in this area. (Do keep in mind it's a bit spendy because of its location.)

Truly delicious bagels as judged by a real New Yorker! Nice staff and great location if you commute through Grand Central.

Possibly the best bagels in NYC. Staff were super friendly and welcoming and bagel prepared the way I asked. Also their music was awesome.

A toasted bagel shouldn't take 15 mins when there are 3 employees and no other customers in the store. Good bagel, but not NYC efficient.

Came in very early in the morning only to get a bagel that tasted old. Extremely overpriced as well. Go somewhere else.

FOOD: We ordered a bag of 3 bagels-- everything, poppy seed & salt. The bagels were cute, medium sized and served warm/hot. We chose the scallion cream cheese which came in a lil container. Apparently the bagels are not made in the traditional manner, but they were still delicious with great texture and taste. We also ordered the tea (ok) and strawberry lemonade (yum). We enjoyed our bagels on the little countertop area outside. OVERALL: Definitely recommend! A different bagel experience than some other places (as in, those places where you are served bagels topped with cream cheese and other things) but we enjoyed the simplicity of the bagels and controlling the amount of cream cheese.
