I always like coming to black rock compared to other chain cafe shops. I love the coffee and service most of the time. Today I came to get a coffee and do some work. Everyone in the shop got kicked out, the young blonde lady said they close the lobby at 6pm and the window at 9pm. If that is true, they need to put that on their website and google. Coffee is like duct tape. It fixes everything. What's not to love at Black Rock? This Black Rock is pretty much like all the rest. You can get yourself a nice cuppa joe and have yourself a nice sit on a cozy sofa. If you need to get work done, there are a lot of tables and power outlets available. On this particular visit, a location quite a ways from home, I was meeting up with an old co-worker, her boyfriend, and her majestic citrus cat that walks on a leash. Us gals got the dragonfruit green tea refresher, and we enjoyed it. The staff had spied her adorable cat, Casper, and offered her a pup cup. It was Casper's first pup cup ever, and he loved it. I melted just watching that sweet cat. The staff is friendly, and they have a convenient drive-thru. Two thumbs up! The bathroom code is 3515 for those who are wondering. read more

Stopped several times and all great experiences so far. Staff is great, friendly and attentive-smiles on their faces. The location has a two lane drive-thru and merges to one. On occasion staff is outside taking orders as well. The line moves pretty quickly, this morning 8am I ordered, got to the window and my drink was ready and bagel to follow. They have cute interior decor and offer indoor and outdoor seating. My go-to drink has to be the Mexican mocha and the jalapeño cheddar bagel with cream cheese! read more

Aside from a vibes interior, this place does not have much going for it. My "coffee" tasted like milk, there were so many fruit flies/bugs, and the service was nothing to write home about. This location is filthy and the landscaping is unkept. When waiting in long lines at drive thru, nothing to see but weeds.

Drive-thru service is great and quick as it should. Coffee is great and my family is a huge fan of the variety they offer from teas, refreshers, and coffee. Inside the building offers space to work on a computer or simply catching up with another. However, when I came to study in the morning, there was a lingering odor of what seemed to be old trash or milk?**Didn't even smell like coffee as most coffee bars would which says a lot. Also, either gnats or fruits flies filled the space. They were flying in my face and crawling on the table and even my belongings. These followed to the outside patio as well when I decided to move around which was no help and even at the register they were there too when I made an order. Not sure if this has been mentioned before but hoping this has not gone unnoticed since the last time I visited. Hoping to return only if this has been resolved. read more

I originally visited Black Rock during a Saturday early March. Establishment was busy and drinks were a bit behind schedule. Understandable, staff was nice enough to make that known. When we finally got our drinks they were in all honesty one of the worst coffees I ever had. Like James Harden in the playoffs, a let down after all the hype. I thought today, I'd give it a second chance. Black Rock released newer drinks and my wife convinced me to give it a try. We ordered three drinks off the new menu and well, 1/3. If this was baseball and those were at-bats, you'd say thats very good. But not in this case. Two drinks (matcha and Honey Haze Shaken Espresso) were almost water and milk. They tasted atrocious. The third (Caramel Blondie) was the only decent tasting one. Left me very unimpressed to say the least and I likely will never return. read more

Honestly, one star feels generous. The matcha tastes like grass clippings in dirty water, and the "coffee" is just milk pretending to be coffee. The drive-thru is a circus--long waits, a two-lane merge that no one knows how to use, and employees who actually add to the chaos by giving out bad directions. I can't even believe what I received when Uber eats came. I ordered a hot matcha. Instead of putting that they are out of stock of lids or something, they put a paper cup inside of a plastic cup, matcha mixed on the bottom of it in a slush of melted paper and hot matcha. Kids who work here are snobby. Not courteous or friendly. Had questions on some drinks they couldn't answer my questions on what was in certain ones. Now I see why their lobby was empty. I loveee black rock but this location needs to improve on their cleanliness. The inside of the coffee bar is filled with small flying insects, it makes it difficult to have a conversation if you decide to chill in their seating area. To make things worse, I found an insect inside my drink and I had to return to have them remake it. I will say the woman at the register was nice enough to remake my drink quickly so I do appreciate that, but they do need to do a better job at cleaning the bar area and the seating areas as well. read more

If I could give a zero, I would. I ordered drinks twice in a week. Both had dead bugs floating in them. First one I thought it was a mistake but 2nd one in the span of a few days is not okay. I love black rock! It's my favorite coffee shop and never disappoints until I went to this location. The baristas weren't super friendly, but no big deal maybe they just weren't super talkative today. As we were pulling out we noticed that we didn't get straws so we parked and grabbed straws and left, but after we were on the road I noticed my ham and Swiss croissant was not warmed up at all so I turned around, went inside and asked if they could warm it up (I'm a little annoyed at this point) and the lady who took the croissant didn't apologize or anything. I know small stuff like this happens every once in awhile, but it would have been nice for someone to just apologize. Especially when I'm used to black rock going above and beyond.
