They have a decent food selection consisting of pastries and house-made latin/american dishes ranging from homemade chips and guacamole to Chilequiles. Note that all food is either vegetarian or vegan. The theme of the place is artisenal Latin/Mexican. If you dine in, you will receive your cold drink in a tall ceramic mug/cup most likely in an Aztec/Mexican style, while the hot drinks will be served in a mug and the food is served on festive plates. They play light Latin music in the background. They don't really advertise their syrups if you come in for an iced latte like me, but basically any of their artisanal coffees can be made iced or cold and you can choose from any of those ingredients/syrups in those choices to flavor your own custom latte. I also added a slice of banana bread from the pastry case adjacent to the register. The alchemist - a pretty light tasting latte with obvious notes of cinnamon. I liked it. Banana bread - more like a triple slice of bread. Its gluten free and very dense. A little on the dry side, obviously. Overall, I can see why they're highly rated. A must visit if you want to try some of the best coffee woodlands has to offer.

It's incredible when you think how these beans are roasted and then shipped halfway across the world in order to make it to your cup. We contacted Alex to set up a time to sample some pourovers. It was great to hear his heart and how he came to be at District. We were grateful for the stories of him partnering to empower roasters from Costa Rica, Salvador, and other places. Every type of roast has a story behind it. Not to mention that he is able to supply us ground beans at a good price. Also impressed with his service and care for us as customers. Given that weve had to give up so much in the coffee drinking experience we try and get what we do consume to taste as fresh as possible so weve turned to getting our decaf beans roasted locally. Weve tried a couple of places in Houston and just recently came across District Coffee. Once we checked their website and made sure it was swiss water processed and not bathed in paint stripper chemicals we decided to give them a try... the head roaster Alex is a humble guy who has a family operated business near the 249/Cypress area. I drove out to the District headquarters to pick up a pound of decaf and Alex gave me a tour around the facility which was modest, but professional. Before i left, Alex asked about the reason for decaf and i explained that we mix it with regular to create a half caff blend and with that he walked over to a bin in the shop and pulled out an additional bag of whole bean half caff blend of their signature roast and said it was "on the house" since i had come all the way out from the Sugar Land area. Wow. Now that was unexpected and also very nice considering gas costs near four bucks these days. We just had a pour over cup of that this morning and it was very, very smooth. If the regular whole bean decaf is anywhere close to the smoothness of this signature half caff roast we will most likely add District coffee to our regular rotation of coffees for our morning routine. They had originally shipped me the wrong coffee last month. Now they are refunding my money and shipping me the right coffee. They were very apologetic and explained to me what happened. It also happens to be one of my favorite places to sit down for a little caffeine, a little snack, and lots of laptop / WiFi action. There is plenty of parking and the decor is most definitely on point. For a pseudo flagship roastery location, it still 100% has the relaxing cafe vibe and it's a space that is ideal for meetings or a little downtime to fill the daytime void. Their food items are only available till 2pm daily. They include a lot of Hawaiian specialties such as nice variety of musibis ($4-5 each), pastries, bagels, and croissant sandwiches. Their gelato is a special treat for the warmer weather days and not something I'd expect to find at any cafe. Speaking of WiFi, it's super fast. It's the kind of speed where the HD rarely lags and 4K is more than a reality. This alone makes it extremely appealing to work from here and I always end up spending more time than I would have allotted here. As for the roastery itself, it's an interesting space that is situated in the middle of the room.
