I got a navel piercing at this studio about a month ago. A few days later, it started pinching and getting red and irritated. I went back in to see if swapping out for a longer bar would fix the issue. I especially wanted to check it because I was going to be traveling to another country soon. The piercer I met with assured me that it was fine. It was not fine. Later that week, the jewelry started embedding in my skin (yes, it's as gross and horrifying as it sounds). I had to last minute find another piercer while in another country to get it checked. The piercer I went to said I needed to switch out for a longer bar, which is exactly the problem I had gone back to the studio for (this meant I had to pay another couple hundred for new jewelry as well). When she took out the jewelry that I had gotten at Black Moon, she literally gasped and said that she had never seen a professional piercer use such a short bar while the piercing was healing. As soon as it was switched out, it started healing fine. When I got back, I reached out to Black Moon to see if they could do anything to compensate me for the extra cost I incurred from their ignoring the issue with the bar in the first place. They haven't bothered responding. I came to Black Moon because of the glowing reviews, but my experience really doesn't align with them. I guess most of the reviews are about the initial experience of getting pierced (which honestly for me was also uncomfortable and rushed and the male piercer I had kept calling me sweetheart), but the most important factor for a piercing studio to me is how they handle issues when they arise.The jewelry is also really expensive - which I would've considered worth it to have a knowledgeable and experienced piercer - but that was not the case. read more

Get: a piercing (or two or three) from Brie and some beautiful earrings! I'm addicted. I had four ear piercings before I came to Black Moon Piercing and now I have 11 and am thinking on what my 12th and 13th should be. The additional piercings were all done at Black Moon Piercing and my favorite piercer: Brie! Brie is so kind and patient. She has a great sense of style on jewelry and where a piecing should be placed. She's also very open to feedback. When I wanted something slightly to the left or right, she has no problem adjusting. I haven't gone to any other studio because of her. The ear photos after the appointment always come out great. She's been helping me create a celestial earscape and I can't wait to see how my ears will turn out this year! This location has a good selection of jewelry and is very clean. Plenty of parking. Pretty great experience with Max here earlier today. My girlfriend had some problems with a stuck earring backing and he was able to get it out in very short order. The service was friendly and the wait time was little to none. Booking the appointment was also really convenient too. We called day of and they were able to get us in within a few hours (maybe someone canceled their slot or there was just an opening, not sure), but very happy to be able to fit the appointment in on such a short notice. The location is quite clean and orderly and sanitation conditions seem to be followed thoroughly. Will have to come for a follow up check but thanks for a good experience overall! read more

i probably have reviewed other locations of black moon / rorschach before but here i am again! this time i met Victoria for the first time, and she was fantastic. i called in for an appointment late in the day and luckily got one the same day. the only appointment they had open was with Victoria and i had never seen her before so i was a bit nervous, but not too much because if she works at black moon she must be good. i came in to evaluate my belly button situation as i had it pierced years ago improperly. unfortunately we decided together that piercing it again didnt give a preferred statistical outcome. i took WAY too long deciding wether or not i wanted to get a new septum ring or if i wanted to impulsively get a ear piercing instead to curb the disappointment. she was incredibly polite and didnt mind that i was so indecisive (noted: she had no appointments booked after.. be courteous..!) and let me take my time picking out the perfect jewelry for my new conch piercing. Victoria then took extra time to help my boyfriend find the hoop size for his newly healed nostril piercing, and while they didnt have his in-between size stocked at this location they had them at the others. she offered to take time out of her own day to make sure to stock that size for him for a later date and to have him be notified when they arrived at this location. we took her up on that offer as well as picked a new threadless end for his nostril in the meantime. again, i noticed her taking much more time with us than a normally allotted piercing appointment and while that may be a benefit of having a late/last appointment i could tell she absolutely loved helping us stylize and talking about the pros and cons of each piece of jewelry depending on piercing location. she is very knowledgeable and warm hearted and yet again i walked out of black moon with a smile on my face and exactly what i wanted. TLDR; Victoria is an astonishing piercer, intelligent, patient, and informative. as always, black moon and rorschach will always be my #1 shop to go to for piercings, tattoos, and jewelry. they will always be my top recommendation, especially to women and LGBT read more

So I came in for a body piercing yesterday, and I was so so nervous. Anything that can involve a little bit of pain makes me a big scaredy cat. Which is why I'm so glad I got to book with Brie. What an angel. She was so reassuring and walked me through everything step by step. she took as much time as I needed to talk about after care and healing time. I just felt so safe and comfy in her hands which made the whole experience so much better. I'm already trying to talk all my friends into going and I know i'll be back for more piercings myself soon. This is probably the most upscale piercing place I've ever been to. If you're looking for seriously high end jewelry -- look no further. That being said, the fancier stuff could run you about $500. I had Brie pierce me about a year ago - I went in and wanted something that wouldn't work for my body; so she helpfully coached me through getting something else that I have loved, loved, loved ever since! I had to take them out this week though, for an MRI, and I was too worried about them going back in right that I booked a jewelry change to help reinstall. Not ONLY was Brie wonderful, chatty, and comforting - but between having to re-do (with a different gauge) my newer piercings, and replacing a broken piece of jewelry she's sending back to the manufacturer with a temporary I really like - I've ended up well-taken care of. 11/10 recommend Brie and the crew at Black Moon. Almost a year later after my conch piercing and I'm still regretting it.... I'm not gonna say the piercers name out of respect for them because they truly were very professional but they were also a newbie at the time and shouldn't have started piercing yet. First, I got denied with the initial piercing that I wanted so I just settled cause I wanted a conch eventually anyway (went there for a daith piercing and I'm pretty sure they just couldn't do that one yet) Second, the prices are ridiculousssss because they're jewelry is just oh so fancy, mine turned out to be 120!! Like wtf! And third, its still not healed! Original stud still in and cleaning regularly every time I feel pain. This was my 11th piercing and definitely the worst, even worst than my industrial. This place only makes sense for teenagers straight out of high school that are excited for their first legal piercing and don't know the price and experience of anywhere else so they stop here. i've been to brie a few times and she's so kind but unfortunately when i got my eyebrow pierced i asked for vertical and while the lines were straight the piercing was and is completely crooked as well as so low on my eyebrow it's almost in my brow hair as well as the bottom is far below my brow line. my friend has also gotten most of their piercings from brie and are obviously crooked/ healed improperly due to how small the initial bars were. great people but unfortunately not somewhere i'm comfortable returning to for piercings. read more

Immediately when we walked in, everyone was super friendly and helpful. I came in to get a third lobe piercing. Unfortunately, Nuggets, my clinician, explained to my mom and I that my second piercing was too high and if we did a third above it, it would not sit correctly. He gave me other options and even marked them out on my ear. He said to come back after we had done time to think about everything.
