Plate of the day - scrambled eggs, apple and onion chutney, lentil mash, sweet potato fries, and a side salad

Very adorable! I'm not sure if I'd call this a quintessential French cafe, but it was a very enjoyable experience. We came for lunch and to hang out and read. For lunch, they had four options: a plate of the day, a sandwich of the day, a vegetarian sandwich of the day, and a croque madame. We each had the plate of the day, which was scrambled eggs, an apple and onion chutney, a lentil mash, sweet potato fries, and a side salad. It sounds strange but I promise it was delicious! The food is prepared in an open kitchen which I found fascinating to watch. You could see their cook making all the dishes to order and it was excruciating the detail put into each dish. The food itself was incredible and tasted very fresh and pretty healthy! A nice change from heavy French food. We also ordered the Chemex, a filter style coffee for two. I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but my friend who is said that it was legitimately good filtered coffee, which is supposedly hard to find in Europe. We did not try any of their desserts, but the cookies and carrot cake both looked lovely. Their juices also looked delicious. The place is very small but cozy, and on a quieter afternoon wouldn't be a problem to spend time in. We were able to sit there for a few hours with no problem. Overall, would highly recommend for a cute lunch or afternoon coffee!

So great! The atmosphere was super cool and the service was decent. I wish there was more to choose from for food, but since it's a café I totally understand why there's only a few options. Delicious, nonetheless. And I had my first flat white here--tasty! I ordered the formule, so I also got a orange/banana juice. Holy cow, it was too good. (Definitely try the other options too.) I wish there was more outdoor seating, but I'll definitely come back. :)

Perhaps Black List is the only place in all of southwest France that serves matcha lattés but it's by far the best!

Best coffee in town, very welcoming barista! The espresso is very nice and the milk beverages just amazing.

Books & Coffee - Choux Sésame & Myrtille (4,00 €) - black sesame and blueberry choux. It's OK. Choux pastry feels a bit stale. Cream is really firm.

To be honest, the breakfast wasn't amazing. I got the formulae Salee with the eggs and bacon,…read morejuice and coffee, and the basket of bread, of course. My wife did not - she just got a couple of a la carte items, and we both got a croissant. I'm going with 5 stars for a couple of reasons. One, coffee was excellent. My cappuccino was delicious, but every one of them was during this trip. Second, it's hard to find an american breakfast - it just isn't their thing. Third, the eggs and bacon were very good (but it was just scrambled eggs and bacon). Fourth, the croissant was delicious. Maybe I'm just so happy to have gotten a regular breakfast. The shop is very nice and seems like a great place to work if you need to. Its spacious and the staff was very friendly. I'd make it a stop on your trip if you plan on having breakfast that isn't just a baguette.

Great place for breakfast/ lunch. I stopped by for a lunch…read moreon a weekday and I waited about five minutes to find a table. Salad lunch combo (formule) was excellent. Salad was seasoned with base of balsamic vinegar and basil pesto on top. In this very meat-heavy country, I was glad to find something I could eat (and enjoy). They were so busy each step of service took a little longer than I'd have liked. But at least they were all very friendly and helpful.
