Based on a true story:
This following Thursday, we walked into SIP with our friends and decided to get some school tasks done within an hour or two. Before I get started please do take into account that in another café we were seated for longer than in SIP and not everyone ordered something, and it was alright we sat for a couple of hours finished our work and walked away peacefully. So, this Thursday, we were at SIP (5 people), three of us ordered something and we were seated on the same table. (Note: there was no sign of any sort for what I am about to tell you). Anyways after some time, the woman, a redhead who works there came to us and asked us if we had ordered something. My friend replied that no we haven't yet, but we will in a while (besides not everyone needs to order given that majority of people ordered on our table imo). To which she replied, "Yeah this is not a library so if you are seated here you need to order." Like I mentioned earlier there was no sign or we weren't told at all that everyone has to order to be able to sit and work there. Anyways my friend added "Yeah we will order in just a moment" to which she said, "Come on you are educated people so don't try to F*** with us". I was so surprised to hear that sort of language and see an attitude of that sort towards client. Even if we were at fault and didn't order I do believe there is a polite way of saying it rather than telling us not to "F*** with them". Also, during this whole experience, me and my friend didn't use a word of profanity or insult her, although she very well deserved it for that rude attitude. Later when my friend tried to ask for the manager she said she was the owner and he said it was shameful that you as an owner address to customers in that way to which she said, "there is the door, leave!". Upon looking at other people's reviews it seems she has a great way of dealing with people even when they express their opinion online her responses are similar to "You are not welcomed here", "We suggest you do not come back" so on and so forth. Once again, I do believe if it was our fault there is a polite way to address perhaps a customer FRIENDLY way. Anyhow I would strongly recommend not going to this place because of the owner's attitude, especially towards students when in fact students already go through a lot and should be dealt with in a friendly way or an equal way to other customers. However, do keep in mind that on a Thursday afternoon they weren't even rushing with customers, there were hardly a few handful people including us. I personally feel the owner is bored and finds this way to amuse herself through publicly humiliating customers and making a scene, when in fact all of this could be handled with a smile and a friendly customer-oriented attitude. Worst customer service attitude I have experienced, can't believe the owner is so greedy to have an attitude of such sort just for a 3 euro coffee. The owner's attitude is just unacceptable! read more
