I have not had much experience with these guys apart from taking a jaunt into their offices whilst passing by. Their office's are a little bare, but its the style of most agents offices now to look kinda of minimal. They were quite friendly to me when I enquired about a property, although they did get a little pushy when I said I'll come back later. I had only come in to be nosey (and grab a sneaky Yelp) but I ended up giving them my mobile number to just get back out of the door! I have heard of some people having problems when they're rented accommodation was being managed by Property People, but who doesn't have a gripe with those people who take your money off you every month!

All the staff were huddled together at a computer giggling eating and making us feel uncomfortable as if we were wasting their time. 3 staff members in the office and when we asked to see a suitable apartment I was told they could fit us in next day at 2 as they were too busy. Went to other agency and got sorted with viewing same day and have happily got sorted. Worst experience ever, no customer service at all. AVOID UNLESS DESPERATE.

But then myself and my girlfriend went here because she had to collect her key. And these people were lovely. They spoke to her, went through her form, give her their contact details and that very day she got keys to a new house! Just like in the movies when a poor company makes a sale, they all walk around and high five each other. I imagine they did the same when we left. And then closed up early and treated everyone to a KFC. Perhaps. Though there were a few creases and broken lights that needed fixed, the company sent round "a guy" (because everyone knows a guy to fix things) and they were done within the first few weeks. Absolutely shocking behaviour. Not only was I barged in on by trades-men in my sleep during the…read moreearly hours of the morning, but I was also subjected to unlawful behaviour as the letting agent entered my property on two occasions when I had been given NO prior notice. Upon e-mailing these "letting agents" to notify them of my distaste towards the whole situation, I was accused of BLACKMAILING them! I left the house I rented from them feeling totally bullied and let down. Also, whenever I needed something fixed, they sent a "local handyman" around to "fix" the problem...this led to us almost not getting our deposit back when they claimed that we had somehow damaged the kitchen ceiling...must have been our poor plastering skills...or maybe it was the poor skill of the "handyman" (who wasn't registered...I checked) Anyway. DO NOT APPROACH these people for lettings under the guise of "Key One Property" or any other name they may assume...They are total pirates!

Raising the issue with Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), their affiliated professional body, pressing for CPM's removal from RICS, RICS have advised that CPM's 'customers' have no contract with CPM, suggesting that CPM's often threatened legal action is an empty threat that cannot be enforced. RICS went on to advise that, in most cases, the contract is between the Estate's Management Company (likely involving the estate developer) and the occupier. The Lucas Building is based on an existing red-bricked building which was renovated into apartments a few years back. It mostly comprises of one and two bed apartments of varying size, of which approximately half of which have an allocated car park space (as I do) The building is bright, airy and modern inside. It has an open core in the middle of the building, akin to something you'd find on a Spanish beach holiday. it's managed by Black Dog property management who specialise in block management. They are always on the ball and Jeff who runs the company is more than helpful regarding any problems. Certainly one of the best locations in the city. A five minute walk to the city centre, ten minutes or so from Queens University.
