From personal experience I have found: they largely ignore any issues that come up with property, can be quite rude & disrespectful to clients. eg. standing outside my house with burst pipes flooding the entire bathroom, in -15 cel temperatures at Christmas, after calling several times over a two hour period, to be harassed by their staff telling us its our fault, and to fix it ourselves. When in fact we where not even in the house when it happened. Eventually after much hassle, it two 3 weeks for them to have our house repaired, with working bathroom & drinking water. We received no apology or compensation, despite having to rent temporary accommodation at our own expense. This is just one of a number occasions, where Douglas Huston has failed to live up to any standard. I thought, okay maybe they are just like this with us, maybe we have had an isolated incident, then whilst talking with a colleague at work about the situation, she mentioned that she also had been a client with Douglas Huston the previous year and had received a similar experience, vowing never to use them again. I'd say go with them, but as a last resort, I shall be seeking another estate agent next year. read more
