CF Waukee is a place for both your physical and mental well-being. Challenging workouts and a…read morefamily mentality combine to create a welcoming, fun atmosphere. The programming and coaching at Waukee is top-notch. Coaches take time to get to know the members and coach them on proper technique and member's goals. The programming is constantly varied, challenging, and can always be scaled to an individual's fitness level. The community at Waukee is what sets this box apart from others. I've visited several boxes, and while I have enjoyed every single community, this one is a group of real people who Crossfit. Every member is friendly, welcoming of new faces, and genuinely wants to get to know and help others. I used to be intimidated by partner WODs (workout of the day in CF speak), because I'm not the best athlete, and there hasn't been a single time at Waukee that I haven't been asked to be someone's partner almost immediately. I also have visited all of the various class times, and have felt welcome in each class. Speaking of class times, this box offers a variety of class options throughout the day, leaving lots of options and no excuse for not making it to a workout. Membership rates are very reasonable [for Crossfit]. Crossfit Waukee is associated with Crossfit Des Moines and Crossfit North Ankeny and also offers Acceleration Iowa for youth sports training. Stop in some time for a WOD and stay for the conversation with the other members. We are excited to see you. :)

Her training is knowledgeable, challenging, and tailored to help you improve every step of the way. The owners started with one gym (this location) and have expanded to several more over the years, yet they remain involved in all locations. All of the coaches are great but I want to give a shout out to Anson Fisk! As luck would have it, I end up in his sessions more often than with other coaches. Anson is very enthusiastic and motivating but more importantly, he sees each person individually and works to correct form when needed. As for community, Krave partners with a local non profit each season (Special Olympics, ARL, etc.) and members are encouraged to participate in an event supporting each non-profit. There are also challenges (just completed a six-week one) and occasionally a social event. To me, Krave is much more than just a gym!

Their equipment is up-to-date with all current trend workouts. They offer cross-fit courses here also! Now to the meat and potatoes, I only know a couple of indoor basketball courts in the metro area and this is one of them! This is honestly the only reason I come here, for the indoor basketball! I shoot-around in the mornings and with their two full size courts, at most there is someone else using a half court. You pretty much get the court to yourself and practice as much as you'd like. The owner/manager Dave is very friendly and can help you with your fitness goals. The Orange Planet also offers private basketball lessons, just ask about the details. I believe they offer various other courses too, but I don't have any experience with that.

She went for her couple of free weeks in September and decided to cancel. She wa sthen told it was two weeks from opening not two weeks when she first went so we found out they charged her another month on our credit card on September 23rd. She tried to get it removed on September 28th and they said she needs to give a 30 day notice. She signed a form that said the date then is October 23rd. Lo and behold we are charged again on the 23rd of October for the next month!! My wife had texted the owner Joe back on October 19th to verify her membership is over and we won't be charged again. No response. Yesterday she texted him again and asked why he didn't respond to the earlier text and his response was "it looks like your message from 10/19 was missed". Sure it was. Be careful signing up with the gym and read the fine print carefully. My wife's "two week free membership" has turned into $258 and three month membership. No shame in what they screw people out of.
