It's got the classic small town dive bar vibe with pool tables, cheap drinks, interesting decor and a touch tunes for pay to play songs. There was only one bartender so keep your speed expectations in check but I thought she did a great job even when it got busy. I didn't order any food so can't speak on that but my pickle margarita was delicious. A great night stop for the night before bedtime. read more

Love Seligman! Cool little town on Route 66. But STAY AWAY from The Black Cat!!!!!! They violate federal law! They would not let my "Registered and Vested Service dog" in. This violates federal law (American Disabilities Act). They said it was their policy that dogs weren't allowed in bar, which I get but he's not just a dog. Both he and I are protected under in under federal law! I also went to Lilo's and Roadkill Cafe and they both welcomed me and my SERVICE dog in with open arms. Visited around 5:30 on a weekday. Staff was nice enough classic dive bar but guys at Bar that were friends with the bartender kept saying things about "N*ggers" while a black guy was at the bar. Female bartender said nothing. I'd avoid this place if you happen to be anything other than a white republican. read more

Nice little bar with a great patio with plenty of seating and a stage. Seemed to be the place for the locals to hang out after work and shoot the sh*t. We stayed just long enough to have a beer and a shot and shake off some of the road on our journey. This place has been around years and is equally welcoming to tourists or locals. The place is equally suited to bikers, cowboys and travellers passing through. Of course beer and spirits are available in ample quantities they also do bar snacks which are pretty good - especially the hot wings! Your sure to find a friendly welcome from the staff and ive always seen visitors treated well. I was born and raised in seligman but moved overseas some time back so I guess from a locals point of view im a little biased, but the folks in seligman are mostly friendly enough, pull up a seat at this bar and one will soon be telling you all about the place and sharing a laugh. France D stated in his review that seligman is not more than 10 houses. Well theres plenty more than 10 you just gotta explore, a lot of people dont stray from the main road. Absolute best bar ever this holds a special place in our hearts! We are under 25 and moved across the country and this was our last stop till CA and couldn't have had a better time. Very local bar and open late which was nice. Prices are great and people are wonderful and so so kind. They have a cute outdoor space and indoor space with pool tables as well. We were told to stop here while staying in Seligman, purposely, for my bday weekend. When we stopped before dinner it was us and the bartender, I'll call him "Cowboy" as we slacked and didn't get his name. He was very friendly and just what a bartender should be. We had a drink and a few dances then went to dinner at Lilo's on his recommendation. When we came back after dinner there were a few locals, we had a couple drinks and enjoyed taking to Cowboy before heading back to our room. Despite the owner's effort to make it a funny and lively spot, this place is highly handicapped by its location; seligman is probably not more than ten houses plus a couple of motels. Although many ppl seem to stop at seligman before or after their visit to the canyon, the black cat seem unable to attract these visitors to have a couple if drinks and play some pool. When I went there, we tried to play pool but had to check out both of them after the first one suddenly stopped working without releasing balls. The owner was unable to help us with it. At some point two local guys showed up 100% drunk already and started to bother a bit. I think two stars is an encouragement to the owner for her hard work in trying to keep the place Alive despite its unfortunate location. read more

We have stopped in here twice, on our way to Dodgers Spring Training. What a gem this place is, we had a blast both times! We played a lot of music on the jukebox, danced a little, drank a few beers, had great conversations with the local patrons and the bartenders. Definitely will keep coming back to the Black Cat Bar every time we road trip through here. read more
