    Tv that didn't work.

Stayed from 6/27/25 to 6/29/25. Facilities around the ranch are in good condition, specially the lake side pool. Awesome. Big meadow golf course was beautiful. The restaurants around the property close very early, 8 pm which seems odd specially for summer. The website and app are awful and clunky, we actually had an easier time using the old school map to find things around the ranch. The lodge room we stayed at was disgusting and the absolute bare to be called a room. The cable also didn't work. The tv was the size of Michael Scott's in the office. Filthy carpets, filthy bedding, unpatched holes in walls. Will never stay here again, specially for $700.

We had high expectations, however, the experience was far from a fine dining experience that you would expect from the Black Butte Ranch Lodge. First off, most of the meals were fair to OK at best. The duck came out, looking like it was mangled by the backyard dog, our steaks were good, but mine had hard bristle on at least 1/8 of it that I never had a chance to eat... I wonder if that's part of the weight of the portion size that they sell to you? All of us had vegetables (sides) with our meals, and they were all undercooked and small in portion size. It was a a fine-dining atmosphere, but the service wasn't. In fact the service was awkward as it was inexperienced at best, in that our main server was experienced, but the rest of the crew was not. All were very nice, however, lacking in higher service standards!! Our bill was $332 + a mandatory 20% tip ($68) ... we told the on shift management -- not expecting any freebies as we are all affluent -- however, this place was not worth the money paid.

Came here for a quick bite after a hike and it was great! I got their chicken sandwich and splurged with an apple fritter. The apple fritter was absolutely divine, crispy and fluffy and just the right amount of apples. The chicken sandwich was pretty great as well. Their fries are very crispy. The sandwich could use a bit more chicken, but we're still pretty good! I really enjoyed my meal with the beautiful scenery by sitting outside next to the fire. Got lucky and spotted some otters during our lunch.

MISSING DOG BLACK BUTE RANCH AREA. Calvin ran out the back of the ranch 05/29/2022 near Trillium and Anapholis into the forest. PLEASE keep an eye out for a brown pitbull with white chest. He is hard of hearing and doesn't see well. We love him dearly and want him home. Any info or possible sightings please call 503-830-0876.

    Tuna tartar appetizer special

Dinner at the lodge was a great experience! And for the price, we were amazed at how good the food was. Homemade pappardelle noodles were bomb, and the ribeye was super flavorful. Yummy cocktails, too. Beautiful place! This picture is of our tuna appetizer.

There is an option to pay at the bottom which we should have done because they take the national park passes there (see picture). We were able to find parking in the main lot and there were a few people there. We weren't sure how the process of renting the boats or availability of life jackets. There is a shop that sells food, snacks, drinks, ice cream , and desserts. They also have a selection of fishing items, shirts, jackets. We paid for the boat - $60 for the large boat all day. The life jackets were plentiful and available. My husband rowed most of the time because I am not a good rower. We made it from the dock to the start of the river that you can't go past which is good since you could hear the rapids. The way to the left was a lot calmer and clear. We had a blast out on the lake. You could see down near the shallows but not in the middle of the lake. Make sure to bring sunscreen because there isn't much shade. The facilities are great!! Two bathrooms in the shop. Large tables to sit and enjoy a hot cooked meal or ice cream. I am so glad we were able to make a morning on the lake super easy and stress free! Next time I'm thinking of renting a kayak or a stand up paddle board. That would be fun! If you are in the area make sure to stop by early. As we were leaving, the parking lot was filled up so make sure to get there early! I hope my review and pictures help you plan for a successful visit to Clear Lake!

Most roads feel brand new with well marked lines and signs. Parking/trailhead: Signs clearly marked parking area for Blue Pool. Long road leading up to trailhead is unpaved and parking is only allowed on one side. Luckily we were early so got a spot not too far down. Two restrooms, pretty stinky but what can you expect? Trail: Pretty easy hike. Mostly even paths I think overall theres about 300 feet gain on it. Some parts were very muddy, a big portion is rocky with lots of lava rock. Some parts have tree roots sticking up. CAUTION: Parts of trail have a really high cliff that drops off into the river with no markings so be careful especially with dogs or kids. Pool: Of course amazing views once you get to the pool. The side you arrive on is on a cliff with the view of the pool below. You can hike down to the pool by hiking around the edge but some parts are really close to the edge. Descending and ascending is difficult and is not for the weak. Over all we had an amazing time. The hike was a little longer than I thought but nothing too crazy even for a novice hiker. I would suggest bringing water and snacks, we didn't and regretted it. Luckily, we managed to do a walk-up appointment and get our tubes for floating. They do offer online reservations, more than 24 hours in advance, but they had plenty of inner tubes so a reservation was not needed that particular day. From start to finish, they made the entire process extremely easy and seamless. From being able to park your car and get a ride with your inner tube to the drop off point and then being picked back up by the shuttle and returned to the parking lot, and everything in between. They provided us with a good safety briefing as well as the opportunity to leave our car keys since I had not thought about bringing a waterproof pouch. For just about $30 per person, it was well worth the experience and took us about two hours, but we did stop after the rapids and spend some time just swimming before continuing on. If you are a local or just visiting the Bend area, I cannot recommend floating the river enough.

What started as a casual morning walk quickly turned into a beautiful four-mile hike filled with rushing rapids, peaceful river bends, towering pine trees, and some incredible Central Oregon scenery. One of the best parts of this trail is how much the landscape changes as you go. At some points the river was calm enough for paddleboarders floating by, and at others the rapids were roaring against the rocks with serious energy and sound. The trail itself was also a nice mix. Some sections were smooth and paved, while others became a little more rugged with dirt paths, rocks, and small elevation changes that made the hike feel adventurous without being overly difficult. I would still consider this a very approachable hike for most people and fitness levels. We saw walkers, runners, families, and people out with their dogs enjoying the trail. Pro tip: bring water, especially on warmer days, because parts of the trail are fully exposed to the sun. Another thing I appreciated was how accessible this experience was from downtown Bend. We were able to walk straight from our hotel into what felt like a completely different environment surrounded by river, forest, and nature. We eventually wrapped up near the Old Mill District, which made for the perfect ending with shops, restaurants, and a chance to relax after the hike.
