Just recently had Green Home Logic perform a spray-in insulation process for my home. Although I…read morehave not yet felt the effects of the insulation, I was very pleased with the professionalism and quality of work performed by the crew. They were very thorough and did an amazing clean up job! Looking forward to a more energy efficient home and comfort during future winter seasons.

I did a really deep dive before hiring them... comparing every ConEd approved contractor to see who had the best reviews, BBB ratings, etc and GHL had the highest marks everywhere. I spoke with Geoff initially, who is very helpful with getting us set in the right direction and he squeezed us in for an energy audit in a reasonable amount of time. Got the energy audit done with Jon, which was really interesting and gave me a full picture of the limitations of my home, but then also the places where we could make vast improvements. Jon is great by the way and took a bunch of time with us to answer our questions (we had a lot). They ended up doing blown in fiberglass insulation in the crawlspace below the roof. They scheduled this in a timely fashion, showed up right on time, finished quickly and cleaned up to our tenant's satisfaction. The installers were very polite, helpful and professional. Since I wasn't about to squeeze in that tiny crawlspace, they took plenty of photos of the work to let me know how it looked. Based on some rough estimates from my smart thermostat, we now run our boiler 25% less than before insulation. Keep in mind, that's just with insulating the crawlspace. If you're able to do your walls too, I'd assume these numbers could go even higher, but we couldn't. After rebates from ConEd and the IRA it virtually cost us nothing. As long as the rebates are in place, I'll likely bring them back every year to insulate something else. It's really a no brainer, especially with this company which is run like the Navy.

In addition the owner suggest having an energy audit done which would then offer a significant rebate for installing the insulation. He even set up the appointment on my behalf for the energy audit. They provide the right insulation for your needs and are fully cognizant of all safety regulations and precautions required for the homeowners (and pets) as well as for their workers. They installed spray foam insulation in my home's crawlspace which included required sprayed fireproofing. At my request they gladly set up a special air flow system to withdraw air from the crawlspace area to outside because there are no windows or air vents in the crawl space to remove any lingering odors from the fireproofing/insulation. That system worked perfectly and quickly dispelled all odors. It had unexpectedly snowed in the early hours of that day, and I was amazed that the workers actually and happily shoveled my driveway to get the company truck closer to the house! They would not even step on my floors without first putting down drop cloths and then they carefully suited up with protective coverings and got right to work which took several hours. The owner checked on the job that day and the next couple of days. Now that is top notch service!!

The rough estimate was $5,000 but he scheduled a time to come inspect & measure. He was on time but asked where my husband was and I stated he was not available and proceeded to attempt to show him the area - he did not even look at it and Stated "I can't do this" "I thought it was a crawl space under the house, this is not enough of a money maker". I have to say I was shocked my time would be wasted when he was explained in great detail what needed to be done in advance - I have worked for a General Contracting Construction Company for 34 years and have extensive experience with contractors, I have never been dismissed that way . Very unprofessional.

They didn't seem to know much about the products they were selling. They told us things that were not true and then contradicted themselves. EcoSmart could be one of if not the worst company I have ever had the unfortunate privilege to work with. After signing up with them to install a Solar System with battery backup, they wasted almost 2 months of my time, misrepresenting timelines and expertise, mismanaging the process, communication and making multiple false statements along the way. I was clear from the outset that the time frame install the system was critical. They told me multiple times that permits had been filed when, in reality they never filed them at all. They did not even know the process to file permits in my town (another thing they had represented they had experience with) and did not even contact the town until the week we had initially targeted for the install. They told me they understood and had experience with Solar batteries. I had to design this part of the system myself because they had no clue what they were doing and were not even capable of effectively working with the vendor to design and solve for any issues that arose. They were terrible with communication, often telling me they would get back to me and never doing so. I had to chase them all the time. When you are spending any amount this would be unacceptable. I was spending over $100,000. 2 months into the agreement, after bailing on a site visit that I rearranged my schedule for, Michael Pelton then called me to state that they would not install what they had agreed to and that Steve Pelton (the owner) was no longer going to offer batteries as he did not trust them. But then I should just do the solar alone with them. I was clear from the beginning that the point of the project was to have a back up system not just a solar system. It seems to me that their plan from the beginning was to tell me what I wanted to hear and then pull the rug out from under me when the timing was such that I was in jeopardy of losing the full Federal Tax Credit and potentially the State incentives in hopes that I would adjust the install to solar only. Ultimately, they gave me no confidence that they were going to be able to successfully and properly install solar either. In my option and experience they are not to be trusted. My experience with them is that they are incredibly disorganized and inept, often gave me false and misleading statements and have real issues communicating at any level that would be considered acceptable. They also showed zero respect for my time or following through on what they had committed to do. All of this resulted in me losing time, money and expending a tremendous amount of effort for ultimately no reason. Simply horrendous on every level and I could not recommend a company less then EcoSmart.

First project, completed a year ago, was for insulating a single room, for which Dave suggested an alternative to my initial request that cost much less. Chris and his crew completed the work from the interior of the house in a single day, and I was exceedingly pleased with the results. Chris was just as informative and helpful and courteous and friendly as was Dave. My second project, completed last week, was for insulating the entire house with blown-in cellulose from the exterior of the house. As the exterior sidings are aluminum rather than vinyl, this was more difficult and more time-consuming, as aluminum does not bend as easily. In fact, another company informed they do not work on houses with aluminum siding as the risk of damage is too great. But Bennett and his crew were such efficient and hard workers that they completed the job in two days with no damage to the siding. Same as for Dave and Chris, Bennett's information and advice were invaluable.
