I had Beau and his crew do significant work on my house. Among other things the windows, doors and siding were all replaced. A deck ,AC and insulation were added as well. Within a year the siding came loose and I have not been able to get any response from the company. I have called and emailed the company. The windows allow air through so badly that snow will be on this inside of the windows in a windy snowfall. If you do decide to work with them- get a strong written guarantee.

He was also the only company that suggested I consider insulating the ceiling in the basement. He assisted in all phases of the project including when I decided to apply for a loan from CHIF. I highly recommend Elm City Energy Solutions.

Picking a reputable contractor can definitely be a nerve-racking issue. I had searched and…read moreinterviewed many contractors before deciding on Southern Ct Restoration. A friend of mine had highly recommended them. I had trusted my friend's recommendation and contacted SCR. Instead of getting into details, I will tell you my last meeting/dealing with SCR ended with hugs and handshakes. During the whole experience I felt like I was dealing with family. Multiple areas of my home were worked on from; floor tiling, hardwood, painting, decking, lighting, plumbing, concrete work, and even driveway paving. All employees were super respectful, professional, and very cautious of being clean in finished areas of the house. The need for a review on SCR, is definitely in order. They made our house, into a home that we could never imagine. Thanks Guys!! Wayne and Iris Festa

The floor sanders did damage to the floors they were supposed to fix. They left the house with debris and a mess. Yes. A cleaning crew came back after a week, but they only fixed the obvious mistakes. See pictures. In the garage they were to replace drywall. They did a subpar job on cutting pieces that fit, damaged a piece of furniture, and left plaster and insulation debris on the workbench and did not cover anything down there. Additionally, they removed fixtures for lights and left them unattached and with wires for the fixtures plus the garage door opener hanging in the garage. Very disappointed. USAA Insurance should remove them from the provider list and Southern Ct folks should beware of the polite people who leave shabby and incomplete work, refuse to return telephone calls, and generally cancel out the nice telephone call with the abusive way they handle your home. Don't trust them. It was a waste to leave the house unoccupied for more than a week and allow them access for more than a month to sand floors and replace drywall and installation. They failed and don't seem to care about is.

It was an easy, straightforward experience overall from Chris in sales, who explained my options and arranged a relatively quick turn-around for the install. Brandon and Aaron, the installation team, were top-notch in all respects. Our older home gave them good opportunities for demonstrating their skill, creativity, adaptability, and determination, all of which they showed in good measure. I can say that the sales people and technicians I dealt with have all been very respectful and considerate of the homeowner. I went with Nero in spite of a slightly higher bottom line, and am very happy with the results.

First project, completed a year ago, was for insulating a single room, for which Dave suggested an alternative to my initial request that cost much less. Chris and his crew completed the work from the interior of the house in a single day, and I was exceedingly pleased with the results. Chris was just as informative and helpful and courteous and friendly as was Dave. My second project, completed last week, was for insulating the entire house with blown-in cellulose from the exterior of the house. As the exterior sidings are aluminum rather than vinyl, this was more difficult and more time-consuming, as aluminum does not bend as easily. In fact, another company informed they do not work on houses with aluminum siding as the risk of damage is too great. But Bennett and his crew were such efficient and hard workers that they completed the job in two days with no damage to the siding. Same as for Dave and Chris, Bennett's information and advice were invaluable.
