For my money, Maredo could be better average. Steaks were cooked to the right temperatures, even after we performed the linguistic gymnastics to accurately described what we wanted. The was a nice selection of side dishes and these were also at least average. The cuts of meat were plentiful and had a good balance of meat vs. fat even though they were not aged. Where Maredo disappoints is seasoning heir meat. I couldn't even detect as much as a pinch of kosher salt nor a single grinder twist of pepper. Just nothing to make the meat "pop". The other let down for me was dessert. I had been in Germany for two weeks and this was my last dinner before coming home. This was the first time I saw apple strudel on a menu so decided to go for it. What I received was something soggy and doughy that tasted and felt like it was fresh out of a microwave. Two bites and I was done, left the rest on the plate. If the chef decides to make a stop in the spices aisle of the local market and pick up some basis spices and they manage to get some fresh strudel, I could see the stars just flowing in.
