I was at this BJs at approximately 11:00 a.m. today, 04/15/2026. This store is ridiculous! I purchased Orange juice; I cut out the $1.00 coupon and was not given Credit. I also purchased 4 fresh salsas; there was a sign directly under the salsa that stated "$3.00 OFF WHEN YOU PURCHASE 2"; which I did not receive. I was directed to Customer Service, which I went to. They were absolutely no help. Four people doing nothing and refused to help me. I do not know how this store remains open; there are never customers in there; nothing like Costco who goes out of their way to help the customers. Why do you need to cut out coupons if they are not honored. AND what happened to CUSTOMER Service??? When we got home my Husband called 800-257-2582, and was told someone would call him back in 2 DAYS??? 2DAYS We are SENIOR CITIZENS and COSTCO gave us ZERO Courtesy I would like for Management to contact me and give me my $7.00!!! read more

As some of the other reviews mention, they don't have many customer service associates. In all honesty, it really doesn't bother me. After all, how much help can you really need while shopping here. I've bought some items here which required assistance and I didn't experience things as negatively as I have read about. I guess I'm just too laid back in this world of "I want it and I want it NOW!" I will admit the customer service in the auto center could be greatly improved. I've never had my vehicle serviced there, but they are the ones that fill propane tanks. I was once told it would be awhile. No problem though as I did the rest of my shopping and came back, where they then filled it promptly. If you have small children, you should recover the costs of joining in one visit. BJ's brand diapers and formula are every bit as good as the brand name counterparts at less than half the price. If you must be a label snob, don't worry as you can still buy brand name items here much cheaper than most other stores. Yes it is in larger quantities, but I've never understood people who buy small quantities of not perishable items that you use everyday. I'm talking about things like toilet paper, soaps, shampoo, deodorant. The grocery part is good too, you just have to make sure you don't overbuy on items that could go bad. I think they have a good meat selection as well. If you don't mind making an extra stop on your way to the grocery store once in awhile, anyone can easily save several hundred dollars a year by shopping here. read more

I have been coming here for years and only the law of averages really helps the rating for BJ's. The service has been fair to poor. The products they sell are for the most part cheaper, but you are buying in bulk, so it should be anyway. The real reason I came back was I just had a new addition to our family - My son. The draw of diapers and cheaper formula in bulk is hard to pass up when you know you will be spending a good bit in the future. I also have been known to purchase some gas here since last night as an example it was 6 cents cheaper per gallon. The worst part is the automotive which also has a Monroe Muffler and brakes. I had a new battery installed and connected incorrectly which caused the battery to lose the charge. I was stranded while heading out for drinks with friends. I had to pay to get the car towed and when I brought it to the manager's attention he blamed me basically saying 'How do I know you didn't mess with it" and refused to pay for the towing. I threatened to call corporate and they eventually reimbursed me making me feel dishonest in the mean time. I know that that is not Bj's fault totally, but it reflects on them since it is a partnership with Monroe doing business under their roof. On this occasion my wife asked if we could use all of our Enfimil coupons (like checks from the company on the next purchase) -there were about 5 or more and the cashier said 'sure' without checking with management. When we got to the register we had picked up another 36 oz can based on this information - we were told only one coupon per can could be used. This added to the wait time at the register with our newborn and we only had 5 items. The manager came over and they discussed making us go to customer service since we were already rung up when the limit on coupons was revealed. We only wanted the one can taken off so this was rectified at the register. I took some pics for Yelp while we shopped (not of customers)and was asked by the manager if I was taking pictures of people in the store. I explained myself and we left to fuel up, but I hope to use the self checkout in the future. read more

I shop BJ's in York, PA and Easton, MD on a regular basis. Their prices beat Amazon and other on line stores. The fresh pastries and meat are the greatest. Where else is anyone selling Prosuite at $10.00 per pound? At checkout they give me 10%- 20% cash back. The Gas and Premium Tires are less than anywhere else. This is like a convenience store sized BJ's. It is somewhat convenient but their selection is very lacking. Many of the coupon items in their flyers are not stocked here so you are left with useless coupons, thus highly devaluing your membership. Either go to the BJ's in Lancaster or go to Sams. I have been going to this BJ's location for 3 years now. I have read other reviews and I must say that some people seem to forget this is a warehouse store. There isn't much customer service, you do have to carry your own items, place them on the belt and haul them to your car without the aid of bags. This helps keep the cost down. I usually check myself out but anytime I've needed help at the register someone was right there helping me with a good attitude. I've had employees come right up to me and tell me not to lift something heavy; that they would just scan it with their hand held scanner. The warehouse is kept clean, it's lit well and the aisles and shelves are always clutter free. The girls bathroom is always clean and well stocked. Our first experience with Monroe Auto which is attached with BJ's is my husband's car broke down across the street. He was able to get it over to Monroe. They were closing up but seeing that he had his wife and little toddler they offered to help. It was a quick and easy part that my husband needed but they didn't have something like that there. An employee gave my husband his personal car to take a ride down the street to the Advanced Auto and pick up the part. When he got back they helped him put the part on his car and refused to charge him for their help. Right then we decided if we needed anything done on our vehicles and they were able to do it at a reasonable price we would take our cars there. We take both our cars for inspection there every year and have never had a problem beyond waiting a few minutes in the reception area for a mechanic to come in and help us. read more

I really like this bj's. it has ways to get to it from multiple directions to avoid congestion. It usually has decent gas prices with membership! The inventory is usually stocked and plenty of coupons to use. I had an angel of clerk notice I had an item that could use a coupon. He asked if I had it and I told him I had left it at home. He proceeded to find it the accessible coupon materials in the store. He saved me maybe a 1-2 dollars and that was so kind. it is located right off the exit on 12th street. the interection with jack o' reilly's to your front right and taco bell to your left. Make a left at the light and the first stop sign, take a left and you are there! read more

It's a good location and it has great deals. Look for every coupon you can find because they'll take all of them. I don't get some of the complaints about customer service because it's a wholesale club; you get in and get out. I've actually gotten wonderful service at the deli anyway. I wrote to BJ's a few months ago complaining about their store. At that time they would have one cashier, but 4 or more self checkouts opened. I told BJ's at that time the experience of shopping at their store was so bad for me that I would much rather stick an ice pick in my eye than go there again. Good to see things are still changing for the worse. Obviously their self checkouts are helping their members help themselves to items in the store when the checkout supervisor isn't watching. Obviously the door Nazi needs training on how to check the items in the cart against the items on the receipt. Someone is not doing their job. Oh wait, it sounds like they don't want people to do jobs at BJ's. Enough of this BJ's abuse, duh I pay for it too, I should just shop at Weis. It is closer, they treat me better, and their prices are just as good. Plus they have their bonus card. I need to say something nice about Weis. Oh and what response did I get from my BJ's letter? 1.Expired baby formula (USE BY April 1, 2017. Purchased May 20, 2017. 2.Spoiled MEAT. Purchased July 3, 2017 with Sell by July 5, 2017. Opened July 4,2017 & smelt insanely spoiled. Manager was anything but sympathetic for my inconvenience and the fact that I could have fed my newborn bad formula and fed my guests bad meat! While there, bad potatoes had been returned & I was told by member services that expired salad dressing had been returned along with more of the spoiled meat. They should invest in learning how to properly stock their goods. And train their managers to treat unhappy members. read more

really impressed by the growing number of organic brands that bjs has in their food dept. they also have their own brand of "natural" baby diapers and wipes made without chlorine/latex/fragrance that are substantially cheaper than the earth's best brand you can find at babies r us etc. by 2/3 of the price. can't really speak to customer service because i haven't encountered that yet. i do wish that they had bags or better selection of boxes...it is really annoying to carry all the stuff you bought into your house one/two at a time. if i could ever remember my reusable bags maybe that would help! read more

I've been shopping here for years now and it's my go to for a lot of things with the exception of produce. As a busy wife and mother of three, it's wonderful to be able to find all those things in bulk and they do offer good coupons which is also a plus. Sure, there aren't a lot of customer service associates, but each one I've encountered has been polite, friendly, and very helpful. My husband helped me with the shopping today and I realized I forgot the coupons just as the cashier was ringing us up. She was very nice and informed me that all I needed to do was bring my receipt and coupons back within seven days and they would take care of it and refund the difference. I thought it was very nice of her to let me know that and I did go back with the coupons. They were very nice about it and refunded the difference. It was no hassle and convenient and for a busy mom that's fantastic! read more

Let me first start out by saying that I love BJ's as a store but NOT their bakery! BUYER BEWARE: I had ordered a full-sized sheet cake (decorated) for my mother's 80th birthday party and I might add that I placed the order a week and a half before I needed it because of Thanksgiving in that time frame. When we went to pick it up (the day of the party) the girl in the bakery brought out the most hideous-looking cake that I had ever seen!!!! Let me try to explain it to you but I know you won't be able to get the full effect...you just had to see it. Unfortunately I was in such shock that I didn't think to snap a pic of it. I had asked for the cake to be decorated very cheerfully and festive looking with lots of flowers...didn't even come close! In fact my grandchildren and I could have made a much better looking cake! The top edge corner was decorated with the typical pink ruffled icing edge. The center had "Happy 80th Birthday Mom" as I had requested be written. I had also requested LOTS of flowers on the cake. When you have a full sheet cake, I hate to see some people get a decorated piece of cake and others get a plain piece so I requested lots of flowers. What they did was make pictures of flowers (like when you have a picture put in the middle of the cake), well they made these pictures of different colors of flowers on special fondant or icing that they use and cut the flowers out and "glued" them on the top of the cake!!!!! It was hideous looking! The flowers looking like a 2 year old cut them out to begin with but it was the most awful looking thing I've seen! I'm not usually speechless but I certainly was then. If I was the decorator and had to hand that cake to a customer, I would have been embarrassed to no end. Who in their right mind in the cake decorating profession would think that a cake like that would be acceptable???? I told the girl that this was NOT acceptable. She said she could take it back and put "non-edible" flowers on it. What choice did I have? I had 50 guests coming to a party in less than an hour and a half...I needed a cake. She got these hard sugar flowers out and "glued" them on the perimeter of the cake after she took the flower cutouts off. She was a mad at me when I still wasn't very happy about the looks of the cake but I took the cake and went directly to the customer service desk. Everyone there was very sympathetic to me about the cake and agreed it was not a nice looking cake (to say the least). They tried to find the store manager but couldn't for some reason. I dealt with 2 other managers of some kind (not store mgr) and said I didn't have to pay for it which I had no intentions of doing so but I did need a cake. They told me to just take it and they gave me a $25 gift card. I really appreciate that I wasn't made to pay for such an awful cake and the gift card but I will NEVER, EVER (let me repeat that), NEVER, EVER order another cake from the BJ's bakery EVER AGAIN! Please use this as a warning if you plan to use their bakery for a very special occasion...ORDER AT YOUR OWN RISK!! I told my mother the story after her party and also told her that we will go shopping so that she can use her $25 gift card. Also I want to say that I have never posted anything negative on-line about a business before but I was so upset over this that I wanted to prevent this from happening to anyone else. Purchased tires at this club because I got a good price. Problem is the service after the sale. Tire rotation is required to keep the warranty. The tire center will not schedule an evening appointment past 6pm even though they are open until 8pm. They want a 1 hour window to rotate the tires. 1 hour to do a 10 minute job, really..... read more

I received a FREE 60 day trial at BJ's and found Duracell batteries for 50 cents less than they would have cost me at Walmart. I found NOTHING else that could not be found for less someplace else, that didn't charge $45 per year to shop there. Tell people they are saving money and they believe it??? Even the gasoline price was 2 cents higher than at Sheetz up the street, must be paid for with plastic (no cash) and no sales during rainstorms. OMG... and the big screen TVs were hundreds more than K-mart or Walmart. P.T. Barnum was quoted as saying, "There's a sucker born every minute". I think they all have BJ's memberships. read more

I have bee shopping at this location for more than 3 yrs now. The biggest thing people don't understand is this is a wholesale club. You aren't paying for the convenience of someone holding your hand down every isle you go to. That is why they are cheaper. Bulk pricing and less overhead. I go to this location every two weeks for the bulk of my shopping, then to Target for the things I need in smaller quantities- perishables or items they don't carry. The prices are great, they have great breads, and they accept coupons on top of theirs, and though there are less associates there, they have always been very helpful when I could not find something. My only complaint is not enough cashiers, though they usually open another register when they get backed up. read more

I haven't experienced any rude sales associate behavior and I have been a member for 2 years. If you an informed consumer, you can save a lot of money. Some things are much cheaper; other things aren't. The coupons that they send ( typically ranging from $1 to $20 depending on the item) really help the savings but pay attention to expiration dates to make sure that you will be able to use what you buy. You can also you merchandiser coupons. I have encountered long lines on the weekends, but then again, the same can be said for any other store on a weekend. Same can be said for not having enough sales associates. I use the self checkout lines and I have never had to lift a heavy object out of the cart to scan it. They have button on the checkout that you push and a cashier will come scan the item. You may have to wait a minute but it beats lifting heavy objects more than required. Plus you can push the bush as soon as you begin and continue scanning the smaller items while you wait. One final note....they have things that you can't always find elsewhere and they usually have quite a few food samples. Suggestion for those thinking of joining. Ask if you can look around the store first, review the inventory, note prices and try to calculate if you would save more than the membership fee in a year. read more

BJs is what it is...a wholesale club. Sometimes the lines can be long...but that seems to be an issue in any grogery store these days. Some things are good values, others aren't when compared to others' sales prices. Caveat emptor. Infant formula is a good deal here if they have your "flavor". I've also tried some of the perenials that they carry in those little boxes. I've never had high hopes, but so far i've had good success with hostas, ferns, etc. Some died back the first year making me think they were duds, but came up strong in year 2. read more

This place is definitely not worth the membership. It is a very small location and if you are coming from the York side you have to drive thru the busiest part of route 30 to get here. You then pay $50 a year membership and even when they are not busy the employees and managers are too busy to help you and rude when asked to do so. They have merchandise on the shelf with no price or the wrong price and then seem like you are bothering them when you question what it scanned and they have to go check it. Even their customer service phone line does nothing for you. I cancelled my membership. read more
